Janet, here, your hostess at Cloud 9 Properties, LLC. You'll find me in the Blueberry Patch most of the time, because in July we have a U-Pick farm but the rest of the time I'm tending the plants. Our sing-a-long jingle on Cloud 9 Farm is 'Beds, Berries, Trees, Beef and Honey Bees' I guess you're most interested in the 'Beds' part, but the cows, chickens, pollination honey bees, and forestry management you might want to tour because it all makes Heavenly Hideaway a unique place. I live on the farm, too.
Janet Peterson purchased this cabin in 2007
My family home, Cloud 9 Relaxation Home, a ranch style home over-looking the Blue Ridge Mountain valleys of Fairview, just 15 miles SE of Asheville, NC has been completely updated and is the premier hilltop location for views and gatherings up to 8 people. But the cozy cabin, Heavenly Hideaway, in the woods, with a hot tub off the main driveway is where you want to be for a private couples get-away.
Besides the fun of watching the sun rise or early morning hikes on Cloud 9 Farm where you can hear the cows crunching on the lush grass in the pasture, see wood ducks or a blue heron fly in to investigate Peterson pond or hike the mountain trails...besides all that, in 15 minutes you can be on the Biltmore Estate or in downtown Asheville going to an eclectic local foods restaurant or get to Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure for the afternoon. I recommend the scenic boat ride/dinner tour. In Asheville, you must see the Grove Park Inn and Spa for a lunch on Sunset Terrace or splurge on the spa. (But I do know some day spas, too, just ask.) Waterfalls? Ah, yes, just 40 min. on the Blue Ridge Parkway...Looking Glass Falls, but Dupont state park has 4 unique falls for a great day trip. And don't forget Sliding Rock, bring your oldest cut-off jeans to wear splashing.
We loved this cottage. So beautiful and peaceful. Janet is top notch! Thank you so much for having everything I forgot to pack. We enjoyed the hot tub so much. We used our big golf umbrella when it rained and got in anyway. If you added anything, I suggest an umbrella on a stand by the hot tub. Really loved it!

That's a great idea! We'll get an umbrella on a stand. That would be the only down side to having a hot tub under the stars instead of under a roof. You proved you could take the elements and just apply umbrella.
This was our third stay at the Heavenly Hideaway Cabin and we can't say enough about it. It is nicely appointed and rustic with lots of custom woodwork. We absolutely love it there and plan to come back. The cabin is always clean when we arrive. It is quiet, peaceful perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We really enjoy sitting on the back porch and listening to the birds. The first night of our stay we had an awesome storm hit that made for some great sleeping weather. The hot tub is quite inviting once the temperature starts to go down in the evening. We love taking walks around the property to see the cows and the pond. And we like to feed the chickens our scraps, they are such characters. The blueberries were extra tasty this year! I think this was our best visit so far because we had our visit planned out just right and knew what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. We did just the right amount of sightseeing and just the right amount of relaxing! We highly recommend the hike up to Chimney Rock...it is well worth the sore calves the next day. We found a great restaurant called Vinnie's...also well worth ride into town as it is away from all the touristy areas. Thanks for the great stay Janet :) Hope to see you again soon!
We stayed for 2 days, most definitely not long enough. The cabin was perfect for 2. Everything was clean and well stocked. You have more than you expect to have on any normal rental. We met Janet on day one, she was so friendly and made us feel at home. We explored the trails behind the cabin a little. They are well marked so you don't have to worry about getting lost. Everything is so beautiful. This is perfect if you love nature. A lovely get away just next time we'll plan for more days. Yes there will be a next time. Thanks for a wonderful time!
Janet was a very gracious host, and this house is very clean/welcoming. The farm is perfect for those attracted to the charm of Ashville and the outdoorsy activities of the Smokey Mountains and likes the idea of staying in a beautiful, secluded spot. It is within a 20-25 min drive of the Biltmore Estate and downtown Ashville, and within 15-20 min of Sierra Nevada Brewery - a must for those that appreciate a good brew. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and taking walks on the farm. The house has a nice washer/dryer set, as well as a very nice barbecue that is perfect for grilling out. With such great hospitality from the owner and on such a beautiful farm...it was well worth the trip. Don't hesitate!
The house is adorable, clean as desired and located on a beautifully forested property. It's quiet and secluded (we never heard neighbors), but not far from civilization (the Biltmore, restaurants and grocery stores). The kitchen is very well-stocked so you can cook as much as you'd like. The hikes around the property are wonderful. We came from Los Angeles and it was worth the trip.
Heavenly Hideaway Cabin is a cute, comfortable, clean and equipped with everything you need to cook a great meal or eat fast food. It is located on a charming farm complete with trails to hike and walk your dogs which are allowed. Loved the hot tub and the large wrap around deck overlooking the woods. It is conveniently located close to many attractions and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Janet is the perfect hostess, even providing a dozen fresh eggs. I am hoping we can return again soon.
Our eight days just flew by. We were so impressed with the cabin...well stocked with all those things you don't want to pack but "need"! The cabin was modern and so clean..everything well done. Once we met Janet we knew we would have a great trip. She is so friendly and truly wants you to relax and enjoy your stay. Loved the hot tub and hiking with our dog Izzy each day was such fun. The trails are marked and cleared so you know where you are going. Fresh eggs a real treat and doing a little shopping in Janets little studio had us finding the best gifts to take home for friends and family AND US. Body butter is fabulous and honey such a treat.
The binders in the cabin have a ton of information about places to visit, eat and helped us make the most of our time. Enjoyed it all. The Sierra Nevada Brewery tour was great and our trips to Asheville fun. We hope to come back soon ...easy drive from Wisconsin and so worth it!
