One of two penthouses built on top of a beautiful classical building, this fourth floor loft offers flexible, bright and comfortable accommodation. The lounge area has a great work space and a generous dining area. A large balcony runs the length of these. The large snug converts to a twin or double room at night. Being a loft, the areas are separated or opened up by moving folding screens (please look at the plan). Offering two large double beds plus a single bed, or one large double bed, two wide singles in the snug and a full sized day bed in the lounge, the property is suitable for various groups. Additional futon cushions and linen are available by arrangement for a sixth guest. The main bathroom has a w.c., bath, separate shower & wash basin. A separate w.c, bath tub and wash basin are provided in the main bedroom. With six steps in the foyer and lift access to Orient Loft, which has two steps in the main living area, the apartment is suitable for ambulant disability. Entertainment is provided by two flat screen televisions, cable t.v, free wi-fi (fair usage applies), blu ray player, some discs, books & an ipod dock. A land line is available by arrangement.
The owners, Monica & Duncan, live and work in Glasgow. They are passionate about art & architecture & formed 'unlimited studios' in 2007, incorporating 'us architects' and 'iota', an arts venue. 'City Loft' was completed in 2012 and is one of their favourite projects to date.

We found this great property- a recently built loft on top of a great classical building, but the interior was in a very sad state of repair - so we invested lots of design ideas and t.l.c in the refurbishment. We and City Loft guests really enjoy this unusual property. City Loft is lovely to spend time in but also in a great location for all the city has to offer, so we use it ourselves when we can, and have family stay here when they visit from abroad. The long south facing balcony is a real bonus.
We knew this was a new build on top of a lovely old building, in a very handy part of town, but we had no idea what to expect when we went to view it. It is so bright and airy! We got great satisfaction from transforming it from a neglected, unused space into something so unique. It deals very well with guests various needs - for family, friends, business, culture & tourism, short or long lets. It is unexpectedly quiet but in a really convenient location.
Thank you Monica!! We truly enjoyed the apartment. It was exactly what we expected and more!! We travelled with some additional children for a dance competition and had asked for accommodation for 7 (2 adults and 5 children) which is more than this apartment holds but these kids are used to sleeping on sofas or sharing beds. We truly appreciated the extra duvets and pillows that were provided so we could pad the extra surfaces so that all were comfortable.
The apartment is bright and so spacious! Well stocked kitchen so we were able to cook our meals.
If we are ever in Glasgow again we will be in contact and we would recommend this apartment to all of our friends.

Stayed here for two weeks with our family. Great location for exploring Glasgow and Scotland. Highly recommended. Very quiet area - except for the seagulls :)
The property is as advertised. We choose this property for its location as it is exactly where we desired to be located in Glasgow for this trip, and it was perfect for us. Easy walking distances, easy to hail cabs a few steps away, as well as easy access to buses, subway and trains. The building itself is secure and very quiet, in-spite of being a block off busy streets. The condo is clean and well equipped. Monica met us upon arrival, and was available by phone/text while we were there. Would stay there again if our travels brought us back to Glasgow for such things as the World Pipe Band Championships.
We spent a very nice journey in Glasgow in this apartment which is closed to every amenities in the vibrant center . We arrived from Belgium , completely exhausted, and we immediately felt at home with the welcoming of Monica. The Loft experience was very nice and the owner is very generous and warm, an artist who decorates her loft with the spirit of Mackintosh. There is also a large balcony which was very handy, especially if you like smoking your cigarette.

Monica the owner was terrific and very helpful leaving us some information on Glasgow and things to do. The space is very beautiful, nicely decorated and quiet. Be very cautious about street parking. We were told we could park until Monday at 8:00 a.m. on the single yellow lined area, and then would have to pay at the meter. We added time to the meter at 7:30 a.m. and when we came out at 8:45 we had a 60 pound parking ticket and they were attempting to tow our rental car. Luckily we retrieved it. Park in the garage across the street, or in a carefully marked white parking spot or risk being towed. The apartment needed a deep clean as there was a bit of mold in the shower, and was a bit dusty, but I don't know if it was rented prior to our arrival. The location is good in the city and easily accessible by walking or public transport as well.
Very central, but away from traffic noise, this loft apartment is in easy reach of a great range of museums, galleries,theatre, ballet, music venues, shops, restaurants and transport links. An ideal location for socialising, culture, study or business trips.
