This amazing apartment is located in a splendidly cool neighbourhood. You will immediately feel that unique old New York vibe in an area that is safe, and getting more and more internationally diverse. It is simply loved by the Europeans! Selecting this apartment will allow you to feel New York with all its history. A great convenient location will let you enjoying a very unique and quiet neighbourhood feel in the middle of New York city, while being 15 minutes train ride from the Midtown.
This is a special opportunity to live on a beautiful landmarked residential block steps to 2/3 train, 2 parks (Central Park and Marcus Garvey Park), and the new celebrity chiefs’ Red Rooster restaurant. Much loved by the locals Settepani and Barawine restaurants and Caffe Latte coffee shop are located on the corner of the block.
The whole area around Marcus Garvey Park captures the authentic energy that is exclusive to Harlem. Featuring free open-air jazz concerts in the summer, it truly represents the spirit of this part of the city. There are many places featuring all kinds of music and art in the area, the legendary Lenox Lounge (now under the new ownership of, as rumor has it, Robert De Niro) just being 3 short blocks away. Not to mention that the house itself literally is being adjacent to the former house of Hammerstein, the famous Broadway composer.

I truly love New York.

We have been renovating our historic Harlem brownstone for nearly 4 years!
We really tried to keep the beauty of each and every old architectural element we could save during the renovation and carefully mix it with the state-of-the-art modern additions, like Daikin AC/heating system with individual temperature controls in each room or Bosch kitchen amenities.
hope you enjoy the results!
Not every home in Manhattan can offer three terraces to have a morning coffee :)
all our guests say that it is a unique treat - to relax in a quiet authentic place after a tiresome, thrill-filled and hectic day of wondering through the New York wilderness!

I would recommend this property! The owner, Julie, was great she met me at the property at the time I stated I would arrive. Everything was exactly as described and pictured!
Great place to stay, fantastic apartment everything you need, convenient for the subway, nice area owner Julie most helpful would recommend to anyone planning a trip to New York so much better than staying in a hotel
We were a party of four adults - two couples - from England in New York for sightseeing.
The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. The location was good. We stayed for five nights and went into Manhattan every day. Ideal place to stay with easy subway link. Julie met us on arrival and was really helpful with the property and local area. We would not hesitate to return to this apartment and can recommend it.
As we were going for 2 weeks we wanted a place that could be our home. After 1 week we had actually adopted that language "i'm getting the subway home". That can only happen naturally and when you feel that somewhere is perfect for you. Julie's property was perfect for us, in a city we found to be perfect for us. We loved Harlem. We loved the fact that we could be mid-town in 15 minutes. We loved the quiet of our neighbourhood but that we were only 5 block from hustle and bustle (not to mention stores and restaurants). I never quite got over the fact that you could walk 100 metres and find yourself at the top of 5th Avenue, looking straight down at the Empire State in the distance. When we return i know for a fact that this is where we would stop.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this nice property. It was very spacious and clean. In addition, it had a great view of the city. Even though I was late, the owner waited for me to arrive. I would recommend this property to anyone that I know. Thanks.
A big THANK YOU to Julie for letting us stay at her beautiful duplex.
When I booked it, I thought it was too good to be true...but it was just as shown!! It was ideal for myself, my husband and my 16 year old son, with mountains of space for the 3 of us to move around in - unlike other NY apartments that can be very cramped.
We wanted a base where we could come and go as we pleased, not being restricted by hotel room cleaning. That's exactly what we got. The duplex is positioned in a great place, just a few minutes walk from the subway station, providing access to downtown in about 15 mins. There are some very nice restaurants near by, including a wonderful coffee shop, that are reasonably priced with great food.
If your looking for somewhere to stay in NY with great access to all of Manhattan, then look no further. You have found he ideal place to rest!
