About Steve or Rachel Harrington

We are home business owners for 30 years, transplanted from California in 1999. We are gardeners and DIY buffs. We have lots of grandkids in the neighborhood.

Steve or Rachel Harrington purchased this house in 2001

Why Steve or Rachel Harrington chose Northport

We carefully and lovingly built up this log home over the last 18 years. It has been a labor of love with lots of special design features to make it unique and very homey and comfortable. My wife likes to design and I like to build. All of the logs, beams, and lumber for the floors and cabinets are sourced from local forests and mills. Rocks used in the fireplace, and interior and exterior walls are from the property and Columbia river.

What makes this house unique

The property is in a rural community of about 30 homes with friendly neighbors that will greet you on your walks. Properties are large, it is very rural.

Beautiful, lovingly cared for home with everything thought of

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our stay at this wonderful home. Within easy driving distance along the Columbia river to Northport for supplies, but so many basics and much more made available and waiting for us, made it so easy to prepare meals for 6. Great living area indoors and porches outside

Very clean and comfortable and everything working perfectly. Amazingly equipped with everything and more (even a drawer full of little things one might have forgotten to pack or run out of!!). Two very good bedrooms with bathroom ensuite or adjacent. One bedroom with 2 single beds perhaps more suited for a non couple or childern.

Great location with opportunity to observe elk, deer and other wildlife near the property. Walk down to river rather steep (especially getting back ;-)

We are very grateful for the opportunity to experience staying in Marble.

Thank you, Steve and Rachel for making this part of our trip such a success!! Would love to come again!!.

Beautiful and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was just what we were looking for. A beautiful mountain setting, away from everything. Dogs could run, kids could run, it was great! The house was beautiful and kept very well. The owners went above and beyond stocking the pantry and all of the extra things you may have forgotten. We will be back for sure!

Wonderful property, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

I have been renting houses and other places like this for 15 years in this area. By far the Best house for a small group(5-8 people), but they have options for larger groups and are willing to work with you to accommodate your needs. As my dad said, "I have tried to find something wrong with this location and over 7 days, he could not find anything missing that we needed". Even had swim diapers for toddlers for the hot tub. The Fire pit was Impressive, and the Strawberries in the garden were the best tasting I have had in 50 years. We had power go out with a big thunder storm, which are awesome to watch in the mountains, and the hosts were quick to offer solutions and help with anything we needed, power came back quickly. When we go up there again, we will rent this property. I strongly suggest this location if your visiting Lake Roosevelt area near Northport Washington. Mark and Debbie Midtlyng

This house was more than a home away from home (No chores to do!) Perfectly appointed and comfortable. The pantry was stocked with basics, as was the refrigerator so that whipping up a meal was a simple trip to the store. The beds were so comfortable... extra points for incredible pillows! We were greeted with a roaring fire in a REAL fireplace. They also provided everything to make our own fire the next day. Our only disappointment was that we hadn't booked another night to stay!! Truly perfect! Also, the drawers in the kitchen were marked for easy navigation to everything.

Great home to make amazing memories with your family. Title says it all "The Perfect Family Escape"

  • 5 of 5

Pictures do not describe how beautiful this home really is. You can tell Steve and Rachel have put their hearts into making this an amazing rental property. My family and I like to "get away" for the weekend quite a bit. We have rented probably 50+ homes over the years. By far, hands down, Steve and Rachel have been the most gracious hosts we have ever encountered. The home is filled with every amenity you can think of. Don't worry if you forget something, they have thought of it all. The home is extremely clean and very well taken care of. Nothing was old or worn out. Everyone in my family was extremely comfortable. I cannot express how much we appreciated staying in such a warm, welcoming, and relaxing home, taken care of by such kind hosts. We will definitely rent this home again in the future.

Thank you so much Steve and Rachel for allowing us to share your gorgeous home.
