Our charming country style kitchen has all the modern conveniences: Sub-Zero refrigerator, Wolf commercial stove, warming drawer, microwave, ice machine, coffee maker, blender, Kitchenaid mixer and more. Several people can be in the kitchen cooking and there is still room for 8 people to sit around the beautiful concrete island. They say the kitchen is the heart of the home and this one will not let you down.
After the meals are prepared you can move into the dining room that can be arranged for spacious family dining or arranged for smaller more intimate dining. This room has a beautiful antique buffet which works as a serving table for family buffets. Enjoy the view of the double sided fireplace while dining. Take your glass of wine and move to the other side of the beautiful cozy wood fireplace into the living room. The fireplace is the focal point of this room. It is two story high and is made from natural rock that my family harvested from this spiritual land. Kick back and relax on the leather sofa and easy chair or enjoy the view from one of our families antique rocking chairs. If you like to play board games or jig saw puzzles you will find a selection in the front vestibule. A game table is located in the living room in front of the huge glass windows looking out into the valley.
A half bathroom is located just off the living room/kitchen area.
Downstairs you will find a carpeted well lit game room. There is a TV to play VHS/DVD"s from our collection or one of your personal favorites. You will also be able to enjoy a little friendly competition on our air hockey or Foosball table.
The laundry room is on this level and is equipped with a wash sink, stainless folding table, front load washing machine and dryer.
Outside we have many gathering areas. There is a play area for the kids with a swing set and slide. Nearby is the horseshoe pit for adult fun. The house has a front deck and upper balconies which offer you a place to sit and enjoy a good book or a chat with a friend. The back of the house has a deck and seating for gatherings. A gas grill, wood fire ring, and a Wistera covered pergola.
Somewhere 2 has plenty of parking for you and your guests. Bring your boat and ATV. If you come in the winter we could get snow. Somewhere 2 is located on primitive roads and 4 wheel drive might be needed. We have a tractor and will do everything to plow the road and help you get in and out.
If you are looking for a house for a business retreat we can make accommodations for your group. The dining room easily converts to a conference room with boardroom style table, dry erase board and basic presentation amenities. Other rooms can be set up for small group brain storming.
The basement can be set up for Quilting Retreats. Call us for more information.
We've also hosted Yoga Retreats. We can move furniture around to accommodate yoga mats. The outside front balcony provides the most spiritual setting at sunrise and sunset.

Somewhere 2 is a dream carefully nurtured into REALITY. After many years of volunteering with different organizations, I realized a need for this retreat. Groups need a place to go and get away from the daily work, family and routines. It had to be SOMEWHERE 2 be free of the daily grind yet foster creativity and relationships. I wanted a place in the beautiful cool temperatures of the Arizona White Mountains. A simple drive from Phoenix or Tucson. This house needed to have all the comforts of home for the whole family to be together under one roof . I have some very fond memories of my entire family being here for Christmas. All 16 of us. We baked Christmas cookies, cut our own Christmas tree and made our own decorations. We hung stockings on the fireplace. Each couple was in charge of a night of cooking and we each had a theme for that night. The house is perfect for family groups. The kids were downstairs playing and the adults were upstairs sitting around the fire and later we all got together to play cards at the huge dining room table. Everyone had a great time and we couldn't wait to do it again!
My favorite place in the house is the Grand Fireplace. The fireplace starts at the ground level and goes up to the second level. The stone on the fire place was harvested by my family from the 40 acres of land. The fire place can be viewed from both the living room and the dining room. A beautiful space for family and friend to gather and share a glass of wine and a few stories.
Very nice and clean, they had all we need.
Such a fantastic Thanksgiving retreat for my family. There were 14 of us total including 5 kids (3 to 9 years old). The kitchen and dining area were absolutely amazing. Lots of space for prepping, cooking and eating (both formal and informal). Very well equipped as well with an over sized restaurant style refrigerator, warming drawer, double oven, ice maker, multiple coffee makers, all the serving dishes, spices, etc. The kids had a blast in the basement with the games, on the playset, and of course on the 4x4 trails. We brought a UTV with us and it couldn't have been a better location. Miles of perfect trails right next to the home. Lots of great memories. Can't wait to come back.
We stayed over the labor day weekend for 3 nights with a big family with kids, and must say that our stay was really awesome... The property is located off 260 accessible via a dirt road, and having that all to ourselves with no neighbors/no traffic/no distractions was perfect. You can appreciate the bright stars in the sky, and enjoy beautiful arizona sunsets right from the deck of the house. House was very spacious with 6 bedrooms, and jack&jill bathrooms connecting so even with a big family, it felt very open, and not congested at all. Kitchen was a treat with sub zero fridge, and a huge island, and became the hub of lot of our discussions and interactions over the 3 days.. also easy access to show low (15 miles) and attractions like Fools Hollow Lake... Sandy (the owner) was very gracious and great to talk to... loved the stay, and would definitely recommend it to anybody...
Had a pretty good size group of friends and family and it seemed to accommodate all of us. Nice air flow through the whole house with windows open.. Not a bad drive to reach lakes or stores(Show Low) . We had heard of Elk within stones throw away in the evenings, it was nice to watch them. Real nice appliances to handle all chilled storage and cooking for a party of any size.. If any negative I would have to say bed were hard and uncomfortable. But in all fairness I am used to a softer bed..
Our family spent memorial weekend at this retreat. We absolutely loved it. The house was wonderful, with plenty of room for our big family. Decorated beautifully with all the right touches. The hospitality from the owners was very refreshing. Thanks for a very nice and relaxing weekend.
We spent three nights during Thanks giving with our friends and families. This was one of the best holidays we ever had. It has everything you need to have a great holiday. Beautifully decorated, quite surroundings, excellent sound system, great kitchen, BBQ area and over all a great owner who is always ready to help you. Following is a facebook status after going home, of one of my friends who was with us:
"Missing somewhere and everything about it...it was magical, musical, mystical...hope to be back someday 'somewhere' again..."
Big thanks to the owner.
