Too much fun!

This is a perfect location if you are a Newport lover!! Close to the pier but not too close. Great kitchen with plenty for cooking anything. 15 steps to the sand! My family has come here 2 years in a row. It will be our summer vacation as long as it is standing!! Awesome owner. Very helpful. Clean house! Quiet neighbors for a beach house. Just the best. Wonderful Experience~

My family and I just came back home to Phoenix yesterday and I'm already thinking about going back next year. Full kitchen, washer/dryer, BBQ grill, private parking, sleeps 4 total, and is approx. 200 steps from the door to the water. Also, a 7 minute walk to the pier to go get coffee, snacks, etc. A wide variety of shops and restaurants within walking distance. This little gem is no frills, but who needs that when there is so much to do in the area? It is very clean as well! There isn't really anything negative to say about it; however you may want to pack some extra pillows. If you plan on doing a lot of cooking there aren't a ton of utensils, pots, pans, etc but there were plenty enough to get us by! Of all the California beaches we've visited, Newport is by far the nicest.

Bad experience

Pros: great location, parking, washer/dryer

My experience: I stayed for 2 weeks, first week was business, second was pleasure. I came home from work one evening with puddles of water on the floor, manager was not concerned and did not end up addressing it at all... he said days later it was from the exterior walls upstairs being hosed. Then there was a period of several days where the electricity and cable were intermittently out. I lost all the food in the fridge I had just bought for my 2nd week and had to spend more than I had planned on eating out. The manager asked for the receipt to reimburse for the lost food, I was never reimbursed and even after repeated requests for return of the receipt (on which I had donated cash for a food pantry and I needed for my taxes), I never heard from him. Overall, it was a negative experience that could have been vastly different with some effort by the manager. There was no recompense for the issues, and not even any offer for a discount on a future stay (I typically vacation 2-4 times a year). I won't stay there again.

Owner's Response: I'm very sorry to hear of your experience during your stay with us. We did get your call regarding the leak in the hallway outside the bathroom and sent our maintenance man to find the leak and repair it the following day. We did have a power outage in our area that lasted a few days. I spoke to all three tenants and informed them as to the situation. We did offer to reimburse them for any lost food and offered them 50 percent discount on their next visit with us. One of the other tenants has already stayed with us at the discounted rate. I did receive an email regarding the receipt and we mail it the following day. I assumed the matter had been resolved. I had several discussion with this tenant during her stay with us and she was very pleasant and understanding throughout her stay. Obviously my communication and follow through should of been better. We will make an effort to reach out to her.

Las Vegas

The PERFECT place for a relaxing and fun week.

This place has a cozy and warm feeling from the moment you walk in the door. We went loaded with groceries and the kitchen was equipped with every single thing that we needed to cook with during the week. It was also nice to find board games, books, beach chairs, an umbrella and even binoculars. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home. It is so close to the sand and water that my son and his friend didn't even take towels. They just came back and rinsed off and got their towels from the patio. Their favorite part was being able to go back and forth to the water so easily. My favorite part was waking up early and walking along the beach with my cup of coffee. One evening for dinner we walked to The Old Spaghetti Factory, another day we walked to Charlie's Chili on the pier. Both were delicious. 7-11 was the place we walked to for late night snacks and movies from the Red Box. Like I said, PERFECT! I have already requested a week for next summer. Julio, the manager, was great to deal with before, during and after. Thank you Julio!

Our Favorite Getaway Place

The weather was just beautiful. 70's - 80's. Lots of sun. Wife and I take long walks and reconnect whenever we come here. Spent 4 fantastic days my wife & I + a day and a half with our grandsons. Comming back in October. Can't wait. Thanks Julio for all your service. See you in October.

Make this your first choice

Came with my wife & 2 grandsons. What a great vacation. 10 steps to the sand. 3 blocks from Newport pier and many restaurants. Grandsons love the ocean. Julio is the nicest manger you could find. Gives over and above service every time. Every thing you need. Make you call to Juilo for you next vacation plans. Have stared here many times before and plan on many many more wonderful stays. Just the wife and I are comming back in 2 weeks.

This apartment building is located on the boardwalk, 4 blocks east of the Newport pier. After exiting the front door, turn right and in 15 steps you're on the sand. This unit is on ground level but does not have a view of the ocean. There are public tennis courts one block away. Restaurants, stores, movie theaters and a major shopping mall are all within a 10 minute drive. Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm are 30 minutes away. Our address is 1700 W. Oceanfront unit B Newport Beach Ca. 92663 We are located at 17th and Oceanfront.
