Dawn and Robert "Sam" Brown
About Dawn and Robert "Sam" Brown
We are Robert "Sam" and Dawn Brown - Sam was born in Vermont and I moved here when I was 13. We met in 8th grade and fell in Love. In Vermont you learn to reconnect with your friends, neighbors and family. It will be the most uplifting downtime you will ever have. Our two horses are generally right across the street and are very friendly as are all the neighbors. Don't worry about the road in the winter they keep it very well plowed and sanded. the picture is of us at Phelps Barn in Grafton VT on Christmas Eve.
Why Dawn and Robert "Sam" Brown chose Chester
It is the setting. Nestled away but open to a wide spectacular view. Horses, mountains, open fields and woods with a brook down on the lower road. You get the sun in the morning and nice shade during the afternoon while you are out on the deck grilling .
What makes this House unique
DIRECTIONS - heading North on 103 into Chester keep going straight as the road turns into Route 11 go about 5.5 miles on Rte 11 then turn right onto the Chester/Andover road go 3/4 mile and just before the road starts to bend turn right onto the Potash Brook Road which is a dirt road. You will come to 2 forks, on the first go right and the second go left. all the dirt roads are dead ends so you can't get too lost. It is about 1.5 miles on the dirt road. Yu will see the white horse fence and a Lit Cabin sign

The perfect retreat
Loved staying at this cabin. We were in town to ski at Okemo and this made the perfect retreat every evening! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
My family and I loved staying at the cozy cottage and especially enjoyed the evenings by the wood burning stove. The location is perfect, close to several charming towns to visit and secluded enough to provide us the relaxing experience we longed for. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed during our stay. Dawn and Bob replied to any questions we had promptly and provided us with some great places to eat. We would definitely stay at the cottage again!
Magical Winter Wonderland
What a beautiful time we had! We arrived with freshly falling snow, we greated by the warm glow of Christmas lights leading us to the front door. Inside we had the soothing aroma of apple spice and a cute lit Christmas tree! 🙂 Bob checked with us to see if we had any questions and had prepared the fireplace for us to light. The entire weekend was magical with snowshoeing, dining out, yoga in the livingroom and feeding peanuts to the horses! Our little poodle had a great time and we were thankful to have a place that allowed pets and had an actual woodburning fireplace! We highly recommend this cabin to all!🙂
Rest Relax Read.....The Three "R's"
Quiet, Beautiful Setting. Cottage is warm. Wood Stove works GREAT too ! Super WIFI and Smart TV's. We were so sorry to leave a day earlier than expected, (Snow storm on the way home necessitated this). We already know we will be back in either spring or fall !! Thank you Bob and Dawn !
Quaint house in a beautiful location
This was a perfect place to decompress and relax. Thoroughly enjoyed the view and the wood burning stove.
Absolutely peaceful and beautiful.
Excellent and quick communication with owners who were very nice and helpful and seem to go above and beyond for their guests and it felt like it. Beautiful location in the mountains, very quiet ... clean cottage and all you could ask for ... it's got everything you need. Located close to several peaks and activities we found alot to do ... climbed killington, lowell lake and ate at the scottish pub and picked up of course some maple syrup. Highly recommended and hope to perhaps stay again in the future.
Vermont is a unique place for people who want rest and recreation at their own pace. Air that is clear and fresh and great water right out of the tap. In fact it is so quiet you might want to bring a sound machine for the night. Sit on the deck and pretend you are living in a postcard or if it is winter you will be living in a Christmas card in Vermont. The place is small but the experience is large.
