Finca Las Galletas

Situated on an extremely quiet part of Las Galletas, this property has a large heated pool and paddle court in the middle of a old banana plantation that has been there for more than 100 years. The star of the property is the 'really heated' swimming pool which is ideal for swimming, as its size is 13 m x 5 m. There is also a jacuzzi and a little space for fitness activities. Wi-fi. Near the pool area there is a large reading room with comfortable sofas. There is also a paddle court and barbeque area. Each house has a solárium on the roof, with sunbeds, also a private front terrace with outdoor furniture and a back terrace with views to the banana plantations. The finca offers 6 one bedroom houses + 6 two bedroom houses + 1 three bedroom house. It is located within walking distance to some local restaurants, supermarket, bakery and Taxi-bus stop.

Why Ana B. Reid chose South Tenerife

I recommend this finca as it is a totally different accommodation concept on the Canary Islands. Being in the middle of the banana plantation offers a quiet atmosphere with all the local taste. The pool is absolutely wonderful and there is such an amount of vegetation around the terraces that there is enough privacy on each house. The situation is also an advantage: away from the massive tourist zones but close enough to enjoy the coastal temperatures and excellent communications everywhere.

What makes this house unique

Having a Real Heated pool is an advantage on Winter, as you might have 21ºC but it is great to enjoy the large pool to swim. The finca is enormous and gives you the advantage of follow the route inside to see how a banana plantation works. Obviously, being only 3 km of the coast gives you the chance to visit the beach on any moment and specially its sea avenues with its fresh fish restaurants where the locals go, away from the crowded tourist places. We can provide all the information you require about this.

Yes, there are only 3 restaurants, a supermarket and a bakery at walking distance, that is why we recomend to book a car or take the bus/taxi (just in front of the entrance of the property) to get to the nearest village and beach, 2,8 km away). The banana plantation is ideal to have a real rest away from the busy tourist áreas. You were a very good client so you would be very welcome on the future. Best wishes!

Heaven!

We loved our stay here! The house was clean & spacious, with plenty of living space, including a very large roof terrace for serious sunbathers! Very private seating area in front of the house, which we used a lot. Everywhere is so well cared for. We never once saw a leaf on the pool! The gardens are fantastic, so lush and tropical! We also enjoyed walking through the plantation, so quiet and peaceful. We did hire a car and saw quite a bit of the island in our short stay. Las Galletas, just 3km away has a beautiful harbour, lovely restaurants & a real Spanish feel. We would highly recommend visiting La Laguna. It is beautiful & just around 1 hour away. Locally we ate at El Cordeira...amazing for meat, however 1 ribeye steak EASILY feeds two! Just a few minutes walk away ( turn left at the church) is Restaurant La Badana is fantastic. Great food , well priced & full of locals. ( only open Thurs-Sun lunch). We would HIGHLY recommend staying at the finca & are certain we will return! Thanks to Nubi who looks after the place!

Yes, the property is really well maintained and of course having that really Heated pool and the huge amount of vegetation makes the place really attractive! Thank you for all your recommendations about local restaurants, our future guests will follow them! This corner of the south of the island is one of the few with the "real Spanish" local atmosphere, comparing with the rest of the south side which is very touristic. La Laguna shows how the island was before the tourist and prosperity arrived!

Special, quiet, beautiful and safe Oasis.

Wonderful stay in clean and well appointed house. Housekeeper Nubi is very friendly and helpful, if you need her, but everything is really set up for you. Peaceful and beautifully landscaped with fabulous heated pool, about a mile from the main motorway, 80 metres away from the main road and just 15 mins max from the airport. Plenty of supermarkets nearby and about 5 restaurants within 5 mins max, walk.

Lots of places to sit and sunbathe either in the small private garden area in front of your villa, on the roof terrace, with a view to the sea in the distance, of the flights, and of the surrounding plantation, by the pool, in the library room or two shaded areas near the pool. Although you can see the flights in the distance we didnt feel there was any issue with noise.

Amazing views through to the banana trees in the plantation.The gentleman owner of the whole site, is unobtrusively around, from time to time, keeping a quiet eye on things to make sure the high standards of this oasis is well maintained and that you are having a good holiday.

A car is preferable, even for small trips such as to Las Galletas, a few miles away, for meals, coffees and ice creams overlooking the sea. I pre booked with Autoreisin who have an office in the airport. Efficient, friendly and good value, with no hassles. Roads are easy and well signposted, but busy. Plenty of safe parking on site 10 metres plus from the villas.

This tranquil and unique small set up is great for families with smaller kids and mixed generations but probably a bit quiet for teenagers.

I am a woman in my 50s and was with my elderly Mum. It was all on the flat so was easy for her and she could get into the pool safely, despite the fact she now walks with a stick. We would definetely stay here again for the lovely landscaped and lush setting, the pool, the comfy accommodation, the general friendly and safe ambience, and the tranquility, for a relaxing break, with everything you need, if you don't want to drive, just a 3 minute walk away. Felt rather special.

For WiFi sign in with the code Nubi gives you on the website that comes up on your screen.

It seemed to cloud over at lunch times for a whilst when we were here just before Christmas, but if we drove to the coast in the afternoons, we could usually pick up the sunshine again. About 21 to 24 o c when we were here. Lovely temperature but not too hot.

Great Sheltered Retreat for Winter Sun!

We had a lovely week in the 2-bed house. Clean, very spacious & comfy beds. Quiet location - car definitely needed to get out to attractions etc - but we knew that before booking. Siam Park only 10 mins away, Go-karting only 5 mins away. Only 10 mins drive from airport too.

The banana plants gave plenty of wind shelter, so lounging by the pool was great & pool temperature was perfect. Nubi is a lovely host.

Would definitely stay again.
