2 bedroom luxury apartment with sea views near Fistral beach

Vacate to the idyllic surroundings of Newquay with family, friends or a significant other, taking advantage of the fresh Cornish air while strolling along the Fistral beach. The magnificent view of the north Cornwall coastline is simply breathtaking, a short walk to Fistral beach only takes a few minutes. Restaurants and all facilities are a short walk away. Nice enclosed garden for children. Location is quiet, but town and supermarket are a short walk away. Wonderful sea vies from balcony.

Not what i would call luxury

Advertised as a premium property but the interior fixtures and fittings are in need of an update, fire alarm hanging from ceiling, broken kitchen window wont close, both sets of patio doord are very difficult to open and someone will eventually pull them off as so much force is needed to open them, front Patio windows and balcons glass was dirty, carpets were stained, cushions were dirty with old food stains, the sofa bed in the room was very very dirty, only 1 tea towel supplied and no dish cloths so had to buy our own to keep things clean and tidy, Radio in room had no reception, TV remote was stuck together with plasters, some interior walls were quite dirty, getting access to the property was a nightmare, we were gien 3 seperate codes, i did question this before arrival but was told i did need them, however we didnt, we got into the complex OK but the key safes were not numbered so couldnt get the key for the property for 2 hours, tried calling the number we were given but no answer.

Very disappointed and would not book again.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you had these less than optimum experiences, and I will be discussing with my cleaners and maintenance staff how to improve the situation. The property is in one of the most prestigious in Newquay, very spacious compared to most apartments, and is in a prime position with views of the sea yet close to both the town and beach. I stayed there myself in May and found the property very clean and presentable, with no carpet stains, sofa bed was clean (it is only a couple of years old), no food on cushions etc. so I am not sure what has changed. There may be a couple of minor scuff marks on the walls (inevitable with family guests), but in general they are very clean. The codes are (a) for entrance to the secure compound for cars (b) for entrance to the property. The other code is for entrance to another compound where I have properties, as is clearly stated on the email letter you would have received. I will make sure the key box is more clearly marked. The windows, facing the sea and the wind, tend to get less than perfect within a couple of days depending on weather, but are regularly cleaned. In these situations, notifying the cleaners ASAP is always recommended, as is providing photographic evidence of any uncleanliness. You will understand they tend to be very busy on a Saturday, with many properties to clean, but will respond when they are able. As a private owner who manages the properties on a part time basis, with local full time cleaners,, I am able to offer accommodation at very competitive prices, with no third party management or booking company, and do not charge extra 'booking' fees. I offer excellent value for money. I will follow closely the extent to which your views of this property are matched by other guests, most of whom seem very happy. Follow up on 16/8/15 I have spoken to the guests immediately before your stay, who assure me they had no problem with the patio doors, and they found the place perfectly clean. So I am left a little puzzled how the patio doors and general cleanliness underwent such a dramatic change.
