This luxurious apartment boasts one of the best locations in central Madrid, right in the heart of the old town and in close proximity to many of the capital´s most famous sights and "must-do" attractions. The Plaza Mayor, Madrid´s most famous square, is just a short walk away, as is the Puerta del Soland impressive royal Palace. The streets immediately surrounding the apartment are reminiscent of a different era, and perfect for exploring on foot. The neighbourhood is renowned for its excellent restaurants and taverns modern and traditional alike, whilst the capital´s main shopping district of Sol is just a short walk away. The neighbouring barrio of La Latina comes alive at the weekends, as people partake in the truly Madrileño pastime of enjoying tapas and a drink or two in the afternoon or early evening. There are various transport options close the apartment, meaning you can explore the rest of the city and beyond with ease. Located in a classic building and a perfect example of the traditional architecture you can find in this part of the city, this spacious apartment has been fully renovated and decorated in a truly contemporary style, with high quality natural stone flooring throughout. The focal point of the property is its impressive open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen area that runs the length of the apartment, with four classic Spanish balconies looking out onto the street below. The space is extremely light and bright, emphasized by the stunning contemporary furnishings used throughout, and the unique layout makes it perfect for entertaining. The large modern kitchen is slightly separated from the rest of the living area via a breakfast bar, and comes fully equipped with everything you need during your stay. The master bedroom is very large and bright with an additional dressing table area for added convenience. The en-suite bathroom is extremely elegant in design, and features a separate bath and walk-in shower, whilst the second bedroom features a single bed with pull-out mattress underneath, perfect for youngsters or guests. Both bedrooms offer plenty of wardrobe space. Please note that whilst the apartment has an elevator, it is very small in size, and must be taken into consideration. Note: The air conditioning is individual however it is only permitted to use between 11am – 11pm. Surface area: 100m2. Fifth floor: Entrance leads into the living / dining room, with 4 French balconies looking out to the street. This area is furnished with one 4-seater sofa, two armchairs, a wooden coffee table, a shelving with TV and DVD and a dining table for 6 people. The kitchen, separated from the dining room by a half partition, is equipped with fridge, freezer, 4-ring ceramic hob, dishwasher, oven, microwave and a breakfast bar with 2 tabourets. There is also a wardrobe for laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer). There are 2 bedrooms: 1 double (king-sized bed 1.80m x 2.00m) with fitted wardrobes and en suite bathroom with walk-in shower room and a separate bath; 1 twin with 2 single beds (one beneath the other 0.90m x 2.00m). There is a second bathroom with bath. Please note the floors of the apartment are stone with a matt finish.
This place is spacious, clean, and in a great location. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience though, We had to wait for 1.25 hours on the street for check-in eventhough we had prearranged our arrival and reserved the taxi through them. Customer service would just promise they will be there in 10 mins and didn't show up for a long time. AC did not work one day, had to call multiple times to get service. Same problem with service would they they will call back in 2 mins and didn't for 30 mins, said will send a tech out within 1 hour but didn't show for 2 hours. No apologies or acknowledgement of lateness when they showed up either.
We were very comfortable here. The apartment is exactly like the photos. Great location, and safe neighborhood. Alex was most welcoming. He explained everything and gave us phone numbers in case of emergency. I would definitely recommend this property.
On our recent trip to Europe we stayed in 3 different apartments, and this was definitely the best--good thing it was also last or we would have been really disappointed with the others! The location is unbeatable; it's so close to everything that we hardly took the metro at all, and could even stop home during the day without it being a big deal. The apartment itself is very spacious, and has a separate washer and dryer that were both so easy to use. The bathrooms are very nicely done. We were met by a rep from the company who showed us how everything worked, and told us a lot about the area. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
Our stay at this apartment was great. We were two couples and we found everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We arrived early and the staff at Spain Select let us stay in the apartment even though the cleaning crew was still working there. The second day we found out that the drain in the main bathroom was clogged and they sent a plumber to fix the problem very fast. The location of the apartment is great! Very near Plaza Mayor and a short walk to the Royal Palace and Mercado San Miguel. La Latina, an amazing area for tapas and dining, is also nearby. We requested to our concierge to arrange for a car to take us to the airport the last day. The service was fast and courteous at a reasonable cost. Great experience in Madrid!
My husband and I stayed in this apartment in March of 2011 with our two teenaged sons. I can't say enough good things about it. First of all, the photos do accurately represent the apartment. It is spotlessly clean and well decorated in a modern, minimalistic style. The location is perfect. Probably a five minute walk from the Plaza Mayor, and five minutes from the Palacio Real, in the austrias district. We felt very safe at all times of the day and night. Its on a pedestrian street, so its very quiet. Its about a minute's walk from the old city hall and a grocery store. Also about 2 minutes from the famous tapas bar street, whose name escapes me at the moment.
The people at Spain Select made the whole process so easy and were very accommodating. I can't say enough good things about this place or Spain Select
appartement confortable, très bien placé, toutes les visites se sont faites à pied ou à vélo (loueur à proximité) .Surtout nous avons bien dormi, l'appartement est très calme.
