Overview

About the property

Apartment, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

With views of the centuries-old Alhambra palace and the soaring peaks of the Sierra Nevada, this very special property is one of the most unique in Granada. Furnished and decorated with the utmost care by the owner, this beautiful house is an effortless blend of classical Andalucian style and modern comforts and conveniences. Split over three levels, it is at once spacious and intimate. The open-plan living and dining room is bright and welcoming, and has been furnished in a discrete traditional style with original Andalucian furnishings and decoration. Wooden beams, tiled flooring, quality wooden furniture and an original fireplace make this a wonderful space to relax or enjoy a meal. The kitchen is in keeping with the classic Spanish style but has been fully-equipped with all modern appliances and everything guests may need during their stay. Each of the bedrooms has been individually decorated. The two double bedrooms offer breathtaking views of the Alhambra, the master bedroom also boasting a small terrace, perfect for enjoying breakfast or an after-dinner drink. The bathrooms are bright and elegant, with local tiles and fittings. The exterior of the property is equally charming, with a front garden complete with small swimming pool, fish pond and fountain and dining area. The roof-top terrace is a real highlight – with unbeatable views to the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada, guests can enjoy an al-fresco meal with a difference. The house has an underground garage, or alternatively guests can make use of the bus that stops almost on the doorstep of the house, and which will take them directly to the heart of the city. The house is located in the Albaycin, one of the oldest and undoubtedly most atmospheric parts of the city. With typical white-washed Andalucian houses, flower-filled patios and tiny tabernas, this quintessential Granada barrio clambers up the hill overlooking the Alhambra. The Mirador de San Nicolas at the very top of the hill is the place to go in the early evening as the sun sets spectacularly over the Alhambra. The Albaycin is tranquil and quiet, and gives visitors a unique the opportunity to soak up the city’s history and charm. House: 250m2 Grounds: 480m2. The house has 3 levels and is accessed from the top and going down 2 flights of steps. Access is through the hall with the twin bedroom on the left (0.90m x 1.90m). From the hall, you have stairs leading down to the lower level: living room, dining room and kitchen are on this level. The living area has three-seater sofa and two easy chairs with coffee table in the center and open fireplace. Flat screen TV on the wall. The dining area has tables and chairs to seat 8. The kitchen is separate and is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher. The fridge and freezer are situated in the pantry, accessed from the kitchen. The outdoor garden can be accesses from the living area and from the kitchen. On the ground level there is a bathroom with a bathtub. Right of the hall level, up two steps, we have two double bedrooms (1.40m x 1.90m) with en suite bathrooms with bathtubs. Both of these bedrooms have views of La Alhambra and one of them has a small terrace with a table and two chairs. All bedrooms have fitted cupboards. On the third level we have the office space with desk and book space, views of the Alhambra and door to access the rooftop terrace. Grounds: the front garden has a private pool 4m x 5m, table and chairs to seat 6 people and a fish pond with gold fish. Rooftop terrace has table and chairs to seat 6 people.

Due to our constant efforts on mantaining our high standards, some pieces of furniture or decoration may be different from the ones shown in the photo gallery.

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

As I write this review, I am sitting in the spacious, comfortable living room of Carmen de los Moriscos on the last day of an amazing trip to Granada. The home has been everything we dreamed of: calm, quiet, perfectly cared for, and a perfect home base for a trip to visit Andalusia. The house has essentially the same view as the famous Mirador San Nicolas. The photos don't quite prepare you for the beauty of the view; be sure to get tickets to the Alhambra well in advance so you can see its wonders. During our week, our family cooked delicious meals and ate together on the bedroom terrace, on the roof overlooking the Alhambra, and at the family dining room near the kitchen. We traveled with our teenage daughters, who loved everything about this beautiful house and the stunning city. We loved wandering the cobblestone alleyways, and walking into town was a treat (even at night -- the path up to the house is extremely well-lit.) However, if you prefer to take the efficient minibus, there is a stop literally at the door to the home. We all slept so well on the comfortable beds, and our host Miguel Angel was extremely generous, attentive, kind and supportive in every way. I would recommend this home to a good friend in a heartbeat. These reviews are accurate: if you are looking for a beautiful villa on a hill with an incomparable view in a historic city, this is the house for you.

Simply Fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from Spain and spent 3 lovely nights at this house. We are a family of 5, with 3 teenage boys ages 16, 16, and 13. Our experience was simply fantastic in every single respect. The house is spacious, well equipped and tasteful. I cannot imagine a better house or a more ideal location. The view from the upstairs balcony is truly breathtaking - with the Alhambra and the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains in clear view. The house is centrally located with easy access to all of the sites. Perhaps the best aspect of our stay was Miguel himself who greeted us personally upon our arrival, answered all of our last minute questions about restaurants and sites to see, arranged for our transportation, and personally helped us with a hike in the nearby Los Cahorros region - even hand-drawing a map for us. He was amazing and made everything very easy for us - very gracious and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here if it is available.

Wonderful stay.

  • 5 of 5

We love Granada, and our stay here made us love it even more. This is a wonderfully tasteful and comfortable home, and the host is a kind and helpful gentleman. The views are beyond belief. We walked down for tapas and drinks every night and never found the walk back up the hill a problem.

We can't wait to return and spend more time.

What can I say??

  • 5 of 5

The rave reviews are all true. The photographs are all representative. And the reality is even better! From the greeting from Miguel until check-out four days later, we had a truly amazing stay. You will arrive to comfortable beds, inviting furniture, terry cloth robes, firewood in the fireplace, a garage for your car, cava and cheese, espresso, and everything else you could want or need for a comfortable stay (except for toiletries). And did someone mention the views?? You will not find a better view, a better neighborhood, a better house (assuming you can handle the stairs) or a better host! Forgive the superlatives - but there are no words that have not already been said to describe this homeaway experience.

AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property! Miguel was so accommodating - his beautiful house has everything you could want in a rental to make you feel like you are at home. He also left us with drinks, fruit, crackers, cheese, breakfast muffins, coffee/tea, etc. which was so welcome after traveling all day with four children. The beds are so comfortable. No detail was overlooked - we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and would stay here again. It is a beautiful location within easy walking distance to the center of Granada and the view of the Alhambra are breathtaking! You will not regret staying here!

This is quite a stunning house with the most breathtaking views of the Alhambra.

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous house with all the amenities one could need for a special stay in this wonderful town. The photographs and details on the website were exactly as provided. The property is so spacious and very clean and well maintained. The owner Miguel is charming and was most helpful both on arrival and departure and he kindly booked our taxis given our lack of Spanish. I have already recommended the property to friends and family and would not hesitate to book again myself.
