A 3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom Chalet Five Minutes Walk From The Centre of Town

Situated in Saas-Fe this luxurious chalet, located 3 minutes walk from the centre of town, has three bedrooms all with en-suite facilities (sleeps 6). Two bedrooms contain a double bed and the third a set of bunk beds. The bedroom on the lower ground floor has a spectacular shower carved out of the Swiss granite stone that the Chalet is built on.

The top floor makes way for a good-sized open plan kitchen and sitting room with a real log fire that creates the lovely atmosphere we all desire when on a skiing holiday. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, electric oven and hob and has direct access to a south-facing terrace. The sitting room contains a large picture window that provides fantastic views of the mountain range that surrounds the resort. With Wi-Fi internet access, cable TV and under floor heating below the solid oak floors, the chalet really does provide you with all the facilities you should require.

Saas-Fee has a wide variety of shops, from sophisticated boutiques to sports stores to corner shops selling regional specialities and fresh produce. Most of them are managed by the owners, who offer expert friendly advice in several language. There's a good range of eating in Saas-Fee with around 50 restaurants and cafés ranging from Michelin-starred gourmet dining at one of Switzerland's top restaurants to cuisine from Europe and around the world. There are plenty of cafés, bars and pizzerias and 11 mountain restaurants, making it easy to find a light bite to eat day or night. With around 20 bars, many of them situated at the foot of the slopes and 3 night clubs there's also plenty of après ski to be enjoyed.

Chalet Greta is owned by an English Family. We unfortunately don't get enough spare time to make the most of Chalet Greta so we have decided to rent it out from January 2014. Redeveloped by us in 2009 we have tired to create a comfortable and relaxing environment which works for people of all ages. With all the necessary mod cons we hope you will be able to enjoy the chalet and Saas Fee as much as we have.

Why Chalet Greta chose Valais

We decided to buy in Saas Fee because it is a high altitude resort and therefore has snow sure slopes. In the Winter is has fantastic skiing and in the Summer there is plenty of walking on offer. As for Saas Fee it is virtually car free, contains lots of great restaurants and plenty of night-life.

What makes this chalet unique

It is nice to have created a chalet where all the bedrooms have en-suites which is located close enough to village but in a very quiet street/ area.

Notes:
If coming from London we would recommend Berne Airport as it is the closest to Saas Fee. There are two flights a day from London City Airport with Swiss airline. Other airports: Basel airport is 226km. Geneva airport is 227km. Zurich airport is 249km. Once you arrive at your preferred Swiss airport we highly recommend that you use the train service for your transfer. The train service in Switzerland is incredibly reliable and efficient. It also takes considerably less time to travel Saas Fee by Train than any other form of transport. To get to Saas Fee you need to take the train to Visp. Directly in front of Visp railway station take the bus to Saas Fee. Saas Fee is car free so to get around you use their electric taxis or buses.

Saas Fee offers some of the finest year round skiing and snow boarding in the Swiss Region and was in fact voted Best Swiss Ski Resort in 2012. Saas-Fee sits at 1,800m above sea level and its slopes rise to a snow-sure 3,500m with glacier skiing thrown in for good measure.

Chalet Greta is located in the Wildi area, which is considered to be the sunniest and best part of Saas Fee as it is quiet and private. The ski lifts are no more than 17 minutes walk from the chalet or 4 minutes via the electric bus. Saas-Fee claims a choice of 48 different slopes once those of the adjacent villages of Saas-Grund, Saas-Balen and Saas-Almagell have been factored in. (The villages are united by an 'all areas' lift pass, which grants access to a total of 145km of pistes. There are no lift links between them, but the local post bus provides free transport every half hour.)

Saas-Fee lies at a chunky 1,800m, with the slopes rising to a snow-sure 3,500m and glacier skiing thrown in for good measure.

Saas-Fee offers 22 lifts, including 3 cable cars, 1 funicular railway, 5 gondolas, 2 chairlifts, the remainder being surface lifts (draglifts). Other activities include snowboarding, paragliding, hang gliding, and tobogganing.
