Overview

About the property

Spacious Two Bedroom Apartment In London's Vibrant, Creative District

A contemporary, spacious and comfortable two bedroom apartment in an elegant Victorian building on the edge of the City of London, a few minutes walk from Brick Lane.

The apartment is in a great location, on a quiet, residential street, yet surrounded by cool cafes, restaurants and bars. It’s three minutes walk away from Shoreditch High Street station, which has quick and easy access to the West End, ten minutes walk from Liverpool Street/The City (for connections to Stansted) and ten minutes walk from Old Street (a few stops from Kings Cross Station and the Eurostar).

The apartment has a lovely and spacious kitchen-diner living room with old pine wood flooring, spot lighting and two comfortable sofas so there is plenty of space to sit. Two bedrooms (one en suite), and two bathrooms, are set along a corridor which gives maximum privacy and space.

The apartment is well-equipped with all the mod cons and a large collection of books for you to browse.

About owner Rob MacDonald: I'm a sociable, easy-going Australian doctor passionate about travel, and exploring the world. I grew up in Perth, and I now divide my time between Perth and London.

Why Rob MacDonald chose this property: I bought the property in 2008, when this area was up and coming. I chose to live in Shoreditch because it has a community feeling - people are really friendly, easy going and open here - and it's an exciting, creative and lively neighbourhood with great day and nightlife. I love the sense of history in this area - there's even a book written about my street - and every building has its story.

What makes this apartment unique: I love the look of my elegant building, and as I'm a sociable person I loved the big lounge-kitchen-diner where I can have friends around. But most of all, I love walking out of my door for breakfast, lunch and dinner and to chat with the friendly, creative community on my doorstep. I am a foodie, and there is no place in London, or even the world, that offers the diversity and excitement of my neighbourhood.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

Myself and a colleague stayed at the apartment for three nights at the end of February. The apartment was very well appointed, clean and tidy and the location was absolutely perfect for the event we were attending. We would have no hesitation in recommending and will definitely be using again in the future.

Brilliant Brick Lane

  • 5 of 5

The flat is superb. It is bright, spotless and just as advertised. The appliances are all brand new and we were very comfortable during our stay. Lots of great books to read and it was very quiet at night so no noise disturbance.

Just a few minutes walk to some great places for brunch and coffee and with so many places to eat out at night we were spoilt for choice.

Nicki made booking very easy and was full of great information about the area. We will stay again next time we are coming to London.

Fantastic place in London!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect! From the booking to our arrival at the appartment, all went smoothly. Nicki couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. The appartment was spotlessly clean and well equiped with everything you could need. The beds were confortable and there are loads of books everywhere, soit don't bother bringing one! Liverpool Street is the closest Tube station,15 minutes away on foot, and you can get anywhere from there. Lots of things close by: Brick Lane with it's multitude of curry houses, many restaurants and bars, two food shops and Spitalfields Market, well worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our stay and we'll definitely go back on our next visit to London.

Simply perfect!

  • 5 of 5

There were four of us staying and the flat was simply the perfect spot to explore London from!

We booked the flat quite a while in advance and Nicki was wonderful in answering all the many questions we had, giving tips on what to do, how to get there from the airport etc.

The flat is well appointed with pretty much everything you need, without being cluttered. It is clean, tidy, airy and bright, and safe.

The location is superb - very easy to get to the Overground or the bus, an Liverpool Street station is only a 10min walk away. There's a couple of supermarkets within walking distance, and plenty of cafes and eateries in nearby Brick Lane.

In short: It's as described in the listing and we'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday flat in London!

The apartment is in Shoreditch, the capital’s vibrant creative district, on the edge of the City of London. Brick Lane and its famous curry houses are on the doorstep and it’s a 10 minute walk to The Shard, and colourful weekend markets including Spitalfields and Columbia Road flower market, where you can join locals for a bagel brunch on Sundays.

This cool and trendy district has been described as 'New York's Lower East Side'. Less than five minutes walk away from the apartment is everything you need: fabulous coffee shops, bakeries, bars and restaurants to art galleries, vintage fashion boutiques and markets, and distinctive murals by famous street artists.

Parallel to Old Nichol Street is Redchurch Street, perhaps the East End’s trendiest address, home to happening bars and restaurants. It is the setting for swanky members club Shoreditch House and Terence Conran’s The Boundary, whose rooftop bar is the place to be in Summer (with an open fire and blankets on cool nights!). Nearby is cult bar Loungelover, with chandeliers dripping from the ceiling, Cargo nightclub and Floripa on Great Eastern Street where you can comer, beber, dancar.

Foodies will love this apartment in the heart of Shoreditch – one of the best value areas in London to eat out. Our neighbourhood coffee shops are the best! Glitzy Franz and Evans, award-winning All Express and charitable Paper & Cup are around the corner…Pick up a bargain salt beef and mustard or salmon and cream cheese bagel from Brick Lane’s famous 24 hour Bagel shop, or an ethnic meal for £5-10 at the weekend world food market. Dine in style at top end restaurants such as Mark Hix’s award-winning chicken and steak restaurant Tramshed, with artworks by Damien Hirst.
