Ground floor, large living /dining/kitchen area. Bedroom 1 is a large 4 poster bedroom with en suite shower areas,bedroom 2 is a large 4 poster bedroom with en suite showeroom/bathroom.There are two separate staircases to the first floor.Off staircase one there are two twin bedded rooms both with ensuite showers.Off staircase 2 there is a large double bedroom and a large twin room that share a bathroom. Outside there is a patio area with hardwood garden furniture and access to 10 acres of lawns and grassland.On site there are many facilities including a hard tennis court, a badminton court, pitch and putt a games room with snooker and table tennis,boule,croquet and archery.

Quiet location, well equipped house, very relaxing stay.

Problems with internet didn’t mar the stay as it helped make it a ‘screen free’ weekend!

Wonderful way to spend a very special birthday.

Stanton at Flagstone Farm was the ideal venue for me to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family & friends.

Cosy in looks & feeling but large enough for the 14 of us to enjoy the large combined living, dining, kitchen area.

Our hosts Jeff & Anne Whitney were so very accommodating & helpful from the start helping us sort out what we needed & popped over just enough to check that we were ok & happy with everything.

Topped with that is the beautiful Cotswolds & we throughly recommend Flagstone Farm to anyone who wants to be able to spend quality time with their family & friends.

Nowhere near up to standard

The property was dirty when we arrived, in fact one of our party was able to write their name in the dust on the television screen but worse than that the property was cold - very cold. In fact we had to ask for extra heating because although there were two additional convector heaters, one was broken and the second had to propped up on books to keep it off the floor. The addition of any convection heating to the ring main meant we were unable to boil a kettle without tripping the circuit breaker!

Although the property had sleeping facilities for at least 13 there was only seating in easy chairs for 8 and the seating that was there was extremely uncomfortable with seats having sagged so much they were almost on the floor. Again, the covers on this seating were dirty and grubby.

Dangerously one of the smoke alarms fitted did not work when tested and the second was held together with selotape - not very reassuring.

The bedrooms were all big enough with comfortable enough beds but the showers were all substandard with doors that did not close and were not safely fitted to the surround, a badly chipped enamel tray and one where part of the control unit fell off mid shower. Showers in the upstairs bedrooms should have been renamed "dribbles" and one was almost completely unusable.

The kitchen range looked impressive and perhaps would have been so had all the parts of it worked. We were unable to get two of the rings on the hob to heat up at all.

At the end of our stay on departure we removed the bed linen as asked only to discover there were no under covers and the pillows were dirty and stained and very uninviting.

This list is far from exhaustive but serves to illustrate the standard of accommodation provided. It certainly did not meet the standards expected from the description, photographs and price charged. We have taken several photographs of our own which would illustrate our review. The one star awarded is for the size of the property.

60th Wedding Anniversary

We shared our Diamond Wedding Anniversary with all our close family in ' Stanton', which we all thoroughly enjoyed, our family made it a fantastic weekend for us, with memories we will never forget. The cottage was a perfect setting, very comfortable and warm, Jeff came over shortly after our arrival to introduce himself and tell us about the cottage etc. There is a lot to enjoy on site, the countryside is stunning, the youngsters found a lovely walk to the village pub. I am sure our family will come back at some time to visit this lovely area.

A wonderful weekend

We had a superb time staying at Stanton house, which is one of the large country cottages available to rent with Ann and Jeff. The house comfortably slept 14 adults and two babies, with a fantastic large open plan lounge and dining room that we were all able to gather in. The facilities were great with a lovely kitchen perfect for cooking for a large group. The setting was also brilliant with lots of lovely walk options on the doorstep. We walked down to a local Brewery, and even though it was closed, the grounds and lake were definitely worth it. Thank you very much.

Lovely property in a lovely location.

We were very pleased with the property especially the location. It was nice and secluded so great for a peaceful stay. It had a large field which was great for the kids to run around in and great for us to sit on and enjoy the sunshine. The nearest town was a short drive away so if you wanted to visit some civilisation. There are five cottages here and we resided in the Stanton building. It was very pleasant decor, with a large living space connected to the kitchen. The bedroom sizes were very good and they had ensuite bathrooms to almost all of them. So relaxing in the evening was very comfortable.

We would have scored the property five stars if it didn't have a some very small issues. Firstly the showers were okay, as some of the rooms pressure was not the greatest so it took a bit longer to sort yourself out. Also a couple of them just need the lime scale cleaned and it would have been flowing perfectly. The other issue we had was that there was no WiFi, which it did state the property had but it did not. But overall these issues were small and we had an amazing weekend and we would certainly recommend to others.

Location,location,location.The real essence of the cotswolds are the beautiful unspoilt villages some of which are literally on our doorstep.Villages such as Lower and Upper slaughter, Stanton and Stanway are well worth a visit.Within a 10 mile radius such delightful Cotswold gems as Burford; Chipping Campden; Broadway; Stow on the Wold; Bourton on the Water and Mopreton on Marsh are to be found.Within a twenty mile radius there is Shakespeares Stratford on Avon;the beautiful regency town of Cheltenham; and the historic university town of Oxford.There is plenty to do and see in the area both in terms of touring by car or walking..There is a first class choice of restaurants and pubs within the immediate area.
