Great house for accessing South Wales

  • 5 of 5

We were 4 adults and 3 children and the house was perfect for our stay. Plenty of space for sleeping, eating and relaxing. Children enjoyed playing outside. The house has all the comforts of a newer home in a quiet community. Brecon Beacons 10mins away and about 1 hour to Rhossili. Had a great meal at the PenyCae Inn pub (15min drive). Dawn was very helpful with lots of tips. Would recommend!

This was a terrific house, you feel as if you are way out on in the country, yet there is a Tesco nearby for all the family provisions needed. thanks you for a wonderful respite from city life.

Fantastic property in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

We had decided to have a family get together for my partner's 50th birthday and booked Coed Lane in the hope that it would be a lovely place to stay but it turned out to be so much more.

The property was amazing, beautifully kept with lots of space and lovely rooms. It offered everything we needed including lovely gardens and a nice conservatory.

It is set back away from any main roads in a cul de sac of large houses giving you a peaceful setting whilst also offering easy access to places of interest as well as a supermarket only a few minutes drive away.

Swansea and the mumbles are no more than about half an hour away with the brecon beacons only 10 minutes drive at most. We particularly enjoyed heading up to the Four Falls for a long trek and standing behind one of the falls itself. Breathtaking scenery and even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits.

It did rain during most of our stay which made it a little difficult to use the garden for sitting out/eating but we loves the house so much that we decided to stay in for the birthday celebrations rather than go out for a meal.

Dawn, the owner was brilliant too providing us with plenty of information prior to our stay along with details on places to visit, restaurants to try and take aways if needed. All payments were processed correctly with no issues and we were refunded our full deposit on time with no hassles, having looked after the property as requested (thanks Dawn and sorry for the delay in writing this).

We would thoroughly recommend booking this property (we have already told our friends about it) and would consider doing so again ourselves with friends or family.

The Mumbles, Swansea Bay

Coed Lan is in a quiet country village setting, nestled in the Swansea valley (9 miles from M4 Junction 45) and 10 miles south of the Brecon Beacons National Park and also a few minutes from the Black Mountain. The general area and particularly the mountains are great for walking and cycling, the irresistible Gower coastline is also only a short drive away, with its sandy beaches, wildlife and nautical attractions.

The rear of Coed Lan benefits from a south east facing view of Varteg Hill affectionately known as ‘The Starvin!’, a formidable hill with public footpath access. Whilst nestled in The Swansea Valley, Coed Lan is also within easy reach of The Neath Valley. A number of Golf Courses, Palleg Golf Course being the closest, are nearby as are local pubs serving ale and good food as well as supermarket facilities. The latter facilities conveniently all within walking distance of Coed Lan.

Visit Craig-Y-Nos Country Park (7 miles), Cefn-Yr-Erw (5 miles) primate sanctuary or the Dan Yr Ogof caves (7 miles), or by dropping into the next valley you can visit the spectacular Aberdulais falls waterfalls of the Vale of Neath (9 miles). You can ‘Go Ape’ at Margam Country Park (20 miles), a great day out for the children. If you prefer culture to climbing, there are many seasonal festivals and of course if sport is your thing, then the Liberty Stadium is close by serving premier soccer and world class rugby union.

In essence, we are ideally located in South Wales whatever your interests or past times.
