Lovely house and well situated.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time overall in Wales and to be able to go back the Coed Lan after a day's outing was perfect. My 2.5 year old grandson was with us and to have a safe garden for him to play in was one of the main items when looking for somewhere to stay; with the house in such a quiet situation and a lovely garden, it was really good. The house is lovely and extremely well maintained; easy reach of a local supermarket was really helpful. The location was also very good for getting around to do things, whether on the coast or in the Brecon Beacons, everything was easy to get to.

Fantastic property and location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property over Easter and had a wonderful time. The house was more than spacious for 7 of us and two small dogs. The location was quiet but with easy access to all main roads for exploring the area. Thank you to Dawn, the owner, who provided all the information needed to make our stay run smooth. Would highly recommend this property and hope to stay again soon.

Spacious, clean, tidy and well equipped. An ideal base for exploring the Brecons

  • 5 of 5

A great find. A group of 8 of us rented out the property for a long weekend, and really enjoyed our stay. It's well located near both the Brecon Beacons and the Gower, with a Tesco just a 5 minute walk away.

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking large meals, with a lovely dining room and living room. Bedrooms are very large and nicely fitted out, with comfy beds and lots of storage.

Information on local facilities, check in and out procedures was thorough and well presented, and we had no issues during the stay. Our only minor complaint was the need for a knife sharpene!

We would highly recommend this property

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Coed Lan, it is great to hear from our guests who have enjoyed their visit. I particularly appreciate it when guests suggest an additional item or service that can make the whole experience even better, so thanks for suggesting the knife sharpener, I'll get onto it straight away! We would love to have you stay again if ever in the area. Thank you!

Beautiful Weekend Stay

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy when we arrived, the house was beautiful, very clean and tidy and just perfect for our weekend.

The notice board when opening the door was incredible! So much helpful information for us to help us get around and find the best places to go.

The rooms in the house were outstanding, perfect for big family holidays.

Plenty of space for children and dogs and so much outside to do for the whole family.

Loved loved loved it !

We will most definitely be going again

Very comfortable house in quiet lane

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in great living space, plenty of room for 8, kitchen fully equipped and every comfort including sitting and dining rooms as well as breakfast bar in kitchen, and the house was very clean and the garden well-kept. Tesco and Home Bargains just 5 mins walk away. The Dan-yr-Ogof caves are 6 miles away, the countryside beautiful with good walks and pubs. Communication with the owner was speedy and helpful. Would happily return if visiting the area again, and would heartily recommend.

Wonderful place, really cosy but with space for everybody.

Ideally located in the heart of the south wales, we were able to go into Beacon Brecon as well as Swansea and Cardiff.

The owner was really helpful to make our stay ideal..

Coed Lan is in a quiet country village setting, nestled in the Swansea valley (9 miles from M4 Junction 45) and 10 miles south of the Brecon Beacons National Park and also a few minutes from the Black Mountain. The general area and particularly the mountains are great for walking and cycling, the irresistible Gower coastline is also only a short drive away, with its sandy beaches, wildlife and nautical attractions.

The rear of Coed Lan benefits from a south east facing view of Varteg Hill affectionately known as ‘The Starvin!’, a formidable hill with public footpath access. Whilst nestled in The Swansea Valley, Coed Lan is also within easy reach of The Neath Valley. A number of Golf Courses, Palleg Golf Course being the closest, are nearby as are local pubs serving ale and good food as well as supermarket facilities. The latter facilities conveniently all within walking distance of Coed Lan.

Visit Craig-Y-Nos Country Park (7 miles), Cefn-Yr-Erw (5 miles) primate sanctuary or the Dan Yr Ogof caves (7 miles), or by dropping into the next valley you can visit the spectacular Aberdulais falls waterfalls of the Vale of Neath (9 miles). You can ‘Go Ape’ at Margam Country Park (20 miles), a great day out for the children. If you prefer culture to climbing, there are many seasonal festivals and of course if sport is your thing, then the Liberty Stadium is close by serving premier soccer and world class rugby union.

In essence, we are ideally located in South Wales whatever your interests or past times.
