Right along the freedom trail and in Little Italy. What more could you want. Very nice!
Cozy 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of little Italy
We travel to Boston every other summer and we love to stay in or near the North End. This apartment was right on Hanover Street, the Main Street of Little Italy. We were a tenth of a mile from Mike’s Pastry and in a perfect location to explore all the side streets.
The apartment was cozy and clean. It had all the basics in the kitchen to prepare breakfast, but we couldn’t resist all the good restaurants for dinner. It was affordable considering the location and we would consider staying again in two years.
This location is spectacular! If you want to immerse yourself in one of the oldest neighborhoods in historic Boston this is the place. The bathroom and kitchen has been tastefully updated. The walk up the two flights of stairs is a little steep but that’s to be expected in properties of this age. You walk out to a bustling street - not a lot of vehicular traffic, just pedestrians. Loads of amazing Italian restaurants and a fabulous deli around the corner for fresh meats and cheeses. You’re literally a block from the Old North Church and around the corner from Paul Revere’s house.
The only negatives I can say is that the floors sag considerably to the point that the master bed was at an angle, however it’s a very old building and there’s not much an owner could do about that. There are two areas in the floor where metal clips/nail stick up out if the floor. One outside the kitchen and one just outside the second bedroom (bunk bed bedroom). Our daughter injured her foot walking out of the room in bare feet - not bad but it could have been worse. We put a towel over it to mark the spot and keep it from happening again. They should probably be sawed off to prevent injury.
Even with those quirky things we would ABSOLUTELY stay again. Honestly we loved it!!!
Fun long weekend in Beantown
Great location with easy access to the T and the tourist sites. The two bedrooms work ed out well for our family.
Welcome to Little Italy!
Fantastic experience with this rental.
All the sights and sounds of the big city. Poor folks who live here full time are getting a new road surface. Lots of construction which leads my to my first recommendation- don’t bring a car!
Neighborhood is very walkable,
More restaurants that we could ever hope to eat at. Wonderful food and people. Went to Mass in Italian. Catholics will know when to kneel and cross themselves out of habit. Beautiful church (St. Leonard’s). Immerse yourself in the neighborhood and routine of old city living. Lots of things to do within walking distance. The residence is 3 floors up, so pack sensibly!
Overall a very enjoyable visit and we would come back without any reservations- well, I mean we would have to make reservations, obviously, but you know what I mean.
Special place in Boston
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo. Although it was a busy area, including a fire station across the street, it was surprisingly quiet. Dror was quick to respond to a few issues we had. Be aware - there are two stories of steep stairs! But we got used to it the climb, and it was a good way to work off the canolies!
