About Kristi Bass
I'm the mom of of 3 kiddos and almost empty nesting! I am locally grown & a Wacoan and this is also where I raised my family. I have seen the transformation of Waco from a sleepy lil college town to whats now one of the most highly sought after travel destinations in the country! Such a joy & blessing to have the opportunity to share my home & my love for this community with people from across the globe.
Kristi Bass purchased this House in 2017
Why Kristi Bass chose North Waco
The Batson family, who were on Fixer Upper show, contacted me about their beloved home as they were wanting to expand their family & this sweet home would simply not accommodate another family member! Since I also own the Barndominium & share it also with guests traveling to Waco, this property was a perfect addition to my family.
What makes this House unique
This home is so charming and quaint! It has such a great open floor plan that you feel very connected from every room in the house. It has the same feel that captivated views on the show. The back porch is ideal for cooking out & lounging out back and enjoying an evening in Waco, Fixer Upper style!

Relaxing with friendly neighbor
Relaxing and charming home close to many Waco sites. Friendly neighbor across street greeted us with friendly hello when we arrived on Thanksgiving day. Four stars due to one large, dead roach in bathroom upon arrival, one bathroom doorknob found on bedside table, had to replace front door battery in order to get it to lock, backyd patio deck fireplace did not work, would have been nice for our chilly temps during stay, old fashion tub was visually pretty but upon using it was slippery which made bathing difficult.
Everything you could hope for AND MORE!
My wife and I were so very pleased with the little house on the prairie. Getting to the house was simple, the coded entry for the door made things incredibly simple.
The house when we walked in was perfect! Very clean and just a beautiful house to stay in.
It was so very cool staying in a house that Chip and Jo fixed up and you can see the detail and work that was done on the house.
I completely recommend staying here if you want the full Waco, TX Fixer Upper experience. It’s a short drive to the Silo district and other Fixer upper houses nearby that were worked on.
Cozy, beautiful home.
We loved staying in the Little House on the Prarie. The interior of the house is so cozy and peaceful. It’s decorated beautifully to compliment chip and Jos work! The neighbor was extremely kind, as were the hosts. We lost power for a few hours(storms) but we had a fun night of apples to apples(provided by Kristi) in the candlelight. I will remember this trip with joy :)
Lol that’s great to know you have fond memories of the power outages from the weather! Great to host wonderful people who realize God dictates more than we do! Y’all were super sweet & wonderful guests!!
Charming home close to all things FIXER UPPER
Booked this sweet home for a girls trip to tour the Silos and all things related to Magnolia Farms. It is just the right size with many of the original touches still inside. Plenty of sleeping room and a quite spacious bathroom. Stunning open concept main floor area. Staying here helped add to our experience in Waco. It is a short drive from here to all main attractions in and around Waco. Make sure to eat at The Magnolia Table and get there early to avoid the long wait. You won't be disappointed. Also, take the free trolley tour. You will learn so much about Waco. And last but not least, shop at some of the antique stores and find some treasures to take home. So much fun!
Elegantly done, like if Jo herself had decorated it!!!
Extremely well kept. The decor is as if Jo herself had gone back and did a make over of the property!!! My wife is a Fixer Upper fan and she was in heaven when we got there. We definitely recommend to stay here!!!
Quaint, cozy and clean!
We had a great stay at "the little house" celebrating our daughter's graduation from Baylor. It was so much fun seeing all the Fixer Upper craftsmanship and Kristi's flair for decor. The home was very well equipped for our stay and comfortable. It is centrally located and close to everything you'll want to see in Waco. Our favorite part about the stay was relaxing on the gorgeous deck under the canopy of the beautiful old tree. From the beginning, Kristi was a joy to communicate with. I recommend this sweet house.
The home is located at the end of the street at a corner with only one home beside it. (Please note that this home, as with many Fixer Upper homes, is in a neighborhood with some low income families & homes along this street are not as well maintained). The one house across from us often has cars outside along his home. He does work on them from his shop so there may be customers of his coming and going.
