Spacious Family Get A Way Minutes to Sky Ship Gondola

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,900 sq. ft.
Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Sprawling three bedroom, three bath house sleeps 8-10

Charming and tasteful: two of the most frequently used descriptions previous tenants have used to depict our farmhouse. As our former vacation home the house is nicely appointed with nice bedding, leather couches, etc. The next description we hear used a lot is “away from it all but still close enough to the slopes.” Located atop a quiet road country road with gorgeous panoramic views of Killington, the house features three bedrooms (plus sleeping loft), three full baths and easily sleeps 8-10 people. It is that perfect balance of second home feel and privacy galore but only minutes to the Skyship Gondola. The house also has a large country kitchen, satellite TV, sunroom, laundry room and woodstove. All linens are included in short term stays.

As previous renters ourselves we know how important having the little things can be which is why our guests find soap, shampoo, hair dryers, paper products and basics in the kitchen like tin foil, baggies and spices. We are happy to answer any and all questions you have to ensure your stay is what you envision and when possible will try our best to fulfill requests.

Who this house is ideal for: non-smoking adults ages 24 and up and families who want the space a private home affords with only a short drive to the mountain.

Who this house is not ideal for: groups larger than 12, younger renters who want to be within walking distance to the bars and nightlife, people not comfortable driving up rural roads in winter conditions.

Available as a seasonal rental December - April or for shorter stays from foliage through the end of ski season. Happy to consider well-behaved pets with prior approval.

* Note: During the winter we have a garage apartment tenant who will occasionally be up on weekends. Apartment has its own entrance and utilities.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My extended family and I decided to take advantage of the great early season conditions and book a trip to Killington. We loved the fact that we had an entire house to ourselves but could easily get to Skyship Gondola in less than 10 minutes. The owners have recently updated the bathrooms which was a nice surprise and those that slept on the new memory foam mattresses said they were like heaven. Carol really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Looking forward to coming back next year.

lovely farmhouse with loads of charm and character, especially the kitchen stove(reminded me of my youth, visiting grandma)

Owner's Response: On behalf of the owner and myself I just want to say how much I appreciate that you took a moment to let others know about your stay at the farmhouse. We've worked hard this year (and every year) to make some updates while still keeping the charm of the house intact, and hearing how much you enjoyed your time in Vermont really validates what we are doing. I guess others think so as well as we are winding down on one of our best seasons to date. Happy to say that the majority of our guests, you included, treated the home with respect and care and because of this have been invited to stay with us again next year. See you then!

Great place for a multi family ski vacation

  • 4 of 5

Alot of space and beds for multiple families. We had teenage boys who prefered to sleep on floor and sofa, so we even had extra unused beds for our trip. Wood stove was rustic and kept the mood going. Good internet access.

Owner's Response: Thrilled that your group enjoyed your stay at the farmhouse. It's sprawling space definitely speaks to families who want to come up to Vermont and be together yet not be on top of each other all the time. I agree the wood stove is a nice touch and does a terrific job keeping everyone warm and toasty in the winter. I personally collect all the kindling we provide in the fall so that our guests have an easy time making a fire. It has been a busy year for us making some small changes to the house including renovating all the bathrooms, upgrading mattresses and painting the bedrooms bright cheery colors. We hope you will consider staying with us again next year!

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Very clean, tidy and spacious place. We spent the weekend and had a really good time. If going in winter with a leased car, remember to rent a 4x4/awd

Owner's Response: On behalf of the owners, we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay at the farmhouse. We take great pride in the way our house is presented, from the upgrades we do each year to offering a host of amenities such as shampoo, tissues, tin foil, spices, etc. It is very important to us that our guests feel like this is "their" second home and appreciate when renters return the favor and treat it with respect. I guess based on the number of repeat renters we get each year we are resonating with the many renters who want accommodations that offer a comfortable, a private setting, but have the convenience of being less than 10 minutes from the lifts.

Great house for large group and close to gondola

  • 5 of 5

We found this house through Carol the property manager. We used to rent a ski on/ski off property in Sunrise village from her. With a much larger group, we decided to try the farmhouse. Very spacious and sleeps a large group. The best part is that it is ~10 minutes from Skyeship gondola. We always enjoyed taking the Great Eastern run back to the car. The house is truly a farmhouse on a mountain with a wood fireplace to keep the place warm... 4X4 required, especially if there is snow. One item to note is that the master bedroom is the only room that sleeps 2. The bedrooms upstairs sleep 4 each (plus a sleeping loft). Our group consisted of 4 couples and we were fine but good to keep in mind if it will be an issue with your group.

Owner's Response: I am so glad your group enjoyed the farmhouse! We have made an extra effort this year to make sure folks are comfortable during their stay including adding new linens and remodeling the upstairs bathroom. We also go out of our way to offer lots of small amenities so that renters dont need to worry about bringing things like shampoo, soap or spices with them. We want your focus to be on enjoying the area. And of course the views of Killington's famed Outer Limits trail from the house are icing on the cake. We have had tenants with a variety of vehicles rent the house and while 4 x4 is certainly helpful, cars with AWD and/or snow tires do just fine as well. I am happy to hear four couples found the house comfortable as we usually appeal to extended families with kids. We hope you'll consider renting from us next year -- you are the type of tenants we'd love to have come back!

Loved our rental choice and the privacy

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a large enough house that was close to the slopes and yet not right in the thick of things. We found the right combination with this house. It was private and under 10 minutes to Skyship. Nice having all the extra room for our family to spread out. Going to miss those great views of Bear Mountain from our window.
