Hackford Hall is a grade 2 listed Georgian Mansion Hall with earlier 16th Century origins. It is situated in 32 acres of its own landscaped grounds and approached via it's own long sweeping driveway. Hackford Hall is the primary property in the area, with a wealth of history as the ancient seat of the Lord of the Manor of Hackford, which encompasses half of the beautiful nearby market town of Reepham. Reepham has been the local market town since 1277 and in that time Hackford Hall has seen many famous inhabitants call it home.
The property benefits from numerous leisure facilities including; an indoor heated swimming pool & gym complex (gym to be put in in 2014) with separate men and women changing rooms and facilities, a fully equipped games room (pool table, table tennis), an excellent all-weather full size tennis court & croquet lawn.
Naturally, Hackford Hall boasts wonderful period features throughout the house. There is a fabulous entrance hall, with open fireplace, oak flooring. This room is ideal as an entertainment / party room or simply somewhere to breakaway from others in the house. The manor house contains several large reception rooms and a wonderful modern huge fully equipped bespoke fitted kitchen. There is an elegant large dining room with seating for everyone around one table, as well as a massive reception/TV room, containing 50' flatscreen 'smart' TV with internet access. This room as soft seating for all to relax and congregate in. The house also benefits from a separate children's play room and office room, equipped with PC with broadband access (and parental controls). This is to be fittted in Spring 2014. On top of this is a number of separate smaller rooms utilised as boot rooms, cloak rooms, utility rooms etc.
There is a most relaxing conservatory which links the main house to the 4 large garages. Of course, there is ample parking if you don't want to use the garages during your stay.
Hackford Hall is designed with your large family holiday or gathering for that special occasion in mind. It is ideal for that large gathering, be it a formal special occasion, such as a birthday, anniversary, or simply somewhere for you and your family and friends to all be under one fabulous roof to enjoy life together.
The property is located just outside the picturesque market town of Reepham, in one of the most scenic parts of the UK. It is only 14 miles from Norwich, one of the UK's best tourist and shopping cities. A short scenic drive will take you to the amazing beaches of the north Norfolk. The whole area is geared up to the upmarket tourist trade but has not forgotten the smaller members of your party. There are literally lots of attractions within a short drive such as: several major theme parks, golf courses, world-class bird and seal watching, historical sites, steam railways, as well as the royal residence of Sandringham. Oh, and not to forget the unique and fascinating Norfolk Broads......... and did we mention the award winning beaches?
I immediately fell in love with Hackford Hall, the moment I set eyes on it. I instinctively knew it would make a great addition to my small but growing portfolio of large holiday homes in East Anglia. Hackford Hall has everything a discerning group could wish for in their choice of property for their stay/holiday.
Hackford Hall is that quintessential English stately home; long sweeping drive leading up to a most impressive grand house of Georgian proportions, with much earlier heart. The house is just oozing importance and splendour. The space available, makes Hackford Hall an ideal house for a large gathering; with lots of things to do and plenty of rooms to spread out in.
This house is wonderful, a real old world experience. We loved playing lord and lady of the manor and keeping check on our large family. There were 12 adults, 7 grandchildren and 4 dogs. We had a wonderful time. The high points are the building itself, the grounds, the pool house, tennis courts, games room and the family kitchen which become our hub. We spent many happy hours at the house and we will be going back some day. The level of finish is good as are the fixtures, fittings & equipment. This is an old house so there is the odd wobbly doorway, creaky floorboard and blown plaster - but that is all character. This is a review so to be helpful and in NO WAY blemish the house - there are a few things we noted and just want to mention... The WiFi at the house is very poor - but then it is for the whole of Norfolk. The mobile phone signal is also poor and there were times nobody had a signal - the house could do with an "emergency land line" installed really - just in case. The water pressure in the main bathroom shower was poor and the driveway to the pool is not lit. However these are minor points and we just mention them so you know.. Clair and "Jonny" were awesome throughout the whole deal and if they will have us we will be going back - awesome week thank you..
On arrival this venue certainly had the wow factor! We had our annual work summer party here this July and all 28 of us had an incredible time. Facilities were brilliant and everything we needed was available. We even managed to set up a sports day in the grounds! Thank you for making it 'the best summer party of all time' and me the most popular member of the agency :) thank you very much Clair and the team. Jess
Hackford Hall is an attractive, well-kept Georgian country house that is as beautiful inside as it is outside. This is an easy house to fall in love with and a very difficult house to leave. It is clean and tidy, the kitchen is generously stocked with equipment, crockery and cutlery, more than enough for our group of 25. The games room, the gym and the pool were full sized additions rather than fun-sized add ons. The bedrooms were comfortable sizes and the linen was good quality.
Clair was very helpful from the very beginning of the booking process and allowed us to do a pre-visit so that we could plan our stay regarding allocation of bedrooms, entertainment and catering facilities. Clair was even amenable to us running an activity within the grounds.
Apart from enjoying all that was available regarding activities, we hired an archery company, Grey Goose Archery, to come over and give us two hours of tuition and competition. If there ever was an exciting and accessible alternative to clay pigeon shooting, archery is it and this relatively local company were excellent.
Myself and my friends would recommend this house without reservation. It is a grand house set in lovely grounds that is comfortable to the point of cosyness in spite of its size. The smile that slides over your face when you first pull up to the house, remains until the moment you have to tear yourself away when checking out.
We spent 3 fantastic nights at Hackford Hall with friends for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Its a fantastic house with lots of space. Very well equipped kitchen. Everyone said how comfortable the beds were. The house, considering how large it is, was always lovely and warm, no nasty draughts. Lovely large rooms, some of the bedrooms were amazing. Our only problem was that we wished we could have stayed longer. It was a great relaxing break. Would highly recommend this house.
We celebrated my Nan's 80th birthday here with the whole family of 30. We had the best weekend ever and we will definetly be back. Very friendly & helpful ppl to deal with, I couldn't be happier.
We stayed in Hackford Hall for a weekend to celebrate my 30th. We had a group of 22 adults and the house was perfect for this type of gathering. We really wanted a house that could accommodate so many of us without being on top of one another, queues for bathrooms or not enough to do and this house ticked all the boxes. With the informal kitchen, the huge living room the quickly named "boys and toys" room and the pool meant everyone had space to enjoy, relax and socialise. We stayed for three nights and even spent Sunday walking into town for Sunday lunch (a nice 2 mile walk to a great local pub). At the recommendation of Claire the Owner we used an outside caterers for Saturday which meant we could all get glammed up and sip champagne in the beautiful surroundings. I love this house, it was a mix between Pride and Prejudice and Downton Abbey! We will definitely look to book again. A great, affordable way to see in a group celebration! Thank you Hackford Hall for the memories!
