21 CLIFTON COURT - This beautiful 2 bedroom self-catering apartment is in an elevated position. Consequently its panoramic sea views extending from National Trust countryside to the glorious 3 mile Woolacombe Bay, Baggy Point and across the Bristol Channel to Lundy Island. The extensive surf washed golden sands of Putsborough Beach, one of the finest Blue Flag beaches in Britain, is just 5 minutes walk away. The communal indoor pool is situated just 15 metres from the front door.
The apartment is perfect for holidays all year round, as well as for cosy winter breaks. Watch the sun set over the ocean from your private balcony, accessed from the sitting room. You will have your own key to the indoor heated swimming pool which is just outside the front door. Pop over for a swim before breakfast!
This apartment is very comfortable and well set out, with all its windows looking out towards Putsborough Sands Beach and the 3 miles wide stretch of Devon coastline known as Woolacombe Bay. We constantly upgrade to provide a wonderful self-catering holiday location for our own family and for our guest's enjoyment. The architect designed interior takes advantage of the setting from every aspect. The generous living area has two comfortable sofas, a coffee table, TV and patio doors to the balcony. The dining area is between the living room and the beautiful, hand built kitchen. Both twin bedrooms, sitting room and dining area all have windows which look out towards the panoramic sea views. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and over-bath shower. The second twin bedroom is opposite the shower room. There is also a laundry room where washing can be done and wet suits rinsed and hung up. Because we use the apartment ourselves we believe we have made it uniquely comfortable......and everything is to hand. Our housekeeper keeps the property immaculately clean and welcoming.
We have many returning families and couples who book from year to year, because they love it so much! Free use of Wi-Fi Broadband....bring your IPhone, laptop or IPad. A Welcome Pack is provided and includes locally sourced sachets of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, biscuits and fresh milk, so put the kettle on as soon as you arrive, and relax!
Putsborough beach shop and cafe for breakfast, lunch or a light snack overlooks the waves from the terrace. Beach equipment, surfboards, body boards and wet suits can be hired too.
We have a parking space just outside the apartment, plus additional parking in the top car park for a second car.

The Osborne family spent many holidays at this property when it was the Putsborough Sands Hotel. We always enjoyed family holidays at this beautiful beach and when we had the opportunity to purchase an apartment here (in 1989) we jumped at the chance.

Why Mrs Rachel Snaith chose Croyde
During the conversion from hotel to the present day apartments we were able to choose a prime position, with all six windows directly overlooking the beach. 21 Clifton Court is situated at the top left corner of the apartment building (see photo taken from the beach), so that we have panoramic views of the whole of Woolacombe Bay. Being on the top floor also means the apartment is quiet and peaceful. It is still very much a family apartment and although we let it out to holiday guests, we use it ourselves and constantly upgrade the equipment and furnishings. Last year we have installed a brand new fridge/freezer and a new microwave. This year we have replaced the heating system. The apartment is tastefully decorated, comfortable and extremely well cared for. You will not be disappointed!
What makes this Apartment unique
Comfortable spacious accommodation in an exclusive and uniquely desirable cliff-top setting. Swim in the heated indoor pool which is situated just a few yards away in a separate, locked, building which is for residents of the apartments only. Main pool 10m x 4m and toddler pool 2.5 m sq. In summer enjoy the wonderful stretch of beach 5 minutes walk from the property. During winter the apartment is warm and cosy with brand new thermostatically controlled heaters in every room, and an electric fire to give a warm glow on chilly evenings. There are many walks which lead directly from the apartment and walking along the beach to Woolacombe is definitely a family favourite. If you are too tired to walk back you can always catch a taxi! We also enjoy sitting on the balcony and watch the surfers.........even in winter they are out in the surf and it's fascinating to watch them catching the waves. The apartment is very accessible as our parking space is near the front door. There are just a couple of steps down and along a walkway and you enter the front door at ground level. As the building is set into the hillside you are then high up (3rd floor) when you look out of the apartment windows, and the views are fabulous. An exceptional apartment.
A beautifully appointed apartment, tastefully decorated and very much thought given guests needs. No expense has been spared. There is a wonderful view from every window and also the balcony. Two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower, which was appreciated. Impossible to find any faults.

Luxury holiday apartment
The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed for a lovely relaxing holiday.
The views from every window were stunning. We looked over Putsborough beach and had a good view of Baggy Point. We were within access of other seaside towns like Woolacombe, Croyde and Mortehoe. There are no shops nearby so you have to go to Braunton for the nearest supermarket and shops (about 5 miles away). There is a large fridgefreezer in the apartment, washing machine, iron and board, and loads of cooking utensils. There is a drier on site and payphone. The phone signal on mobiles is a bit hit and miss. The flat was nicely furnished and very clean and tidy on arrival. The swimming pool was warm and suitable for children and adults. I would highly recommend the property and hope to stay there again.

A Stunning Apartment with outstanding views.
This is a beautifully presented apartment with the most stunning views. I couldn't have imagined staying anywhere nicer for our weekend break. We literally couldn't tear ourselves away from the windows and balcony to take in the glorious coastline. The apartment itself was to a high standard with a very homely feel and catered for your every need. We were greeted with flowers, biscuits and milk in the fridge and Rachel , the owner was a pleasure to book with. We will definitely be rebooking , can't wait !

Blue-flag Putsborough beach is perfect for surfing, rock pooling and walking. Take the coastal cliff path all the way to Baggy Point and watch seals swim and cormorants nesting on the rocks below. A little further along the path you reach Croyde with its picturesque cottages, fabulous beach, coffee shops, pubs, surf shops and post office. In the opposite direction from the apartment (top path behind the apartment block), walk along the coast path to Woolacombe and come back along the beach, or walk it the other way round!
Woolacombe is an ideal centre for all kinds of adventure sports, including surfing, kayaking, paragliding, coasteering, horse riding and much more. From Ilfracombe you can take a boat trip to Lundy Island, a coastal Wildlife Cruise or enjoy a day out on a deep-sea fishing boat. At Croyde saddle up and go horse riding on Putsborough Sands or across the sand dunes and bridle ways.
This 3 mile stretch of golden sand holds an 'England for Excellence Gold Award' and has been voted Best British Beach in the Mail on Sunday. It has won both Blue-flag and premier Seaside Beach Awards for its cleanliness, water quality and facilities. Surfers come from all over England to enjoy the great waves and clean water. Watch them from the balcony as they ride the waves, just below the apartment.
If you want a trip inland you can hire bikes from Braunton or Barnstaple and cycle the Tarka Trail all along the estuary to Instow. This carefully maintained path is open to walkers and cyclists, but is particularly popular with cyclists, as the path is an old railway line, so is totally flat and very easily cycled by both young and old alike.The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and Funder Zone will keep the children happy on wet days. For older children there is Mill Adventure Centre, Lets go Superbowl, quad biking and paint balling facilities.
The National Trust's property, Arlington Court, is 40 minutes drive away. This elegant Regency house has extensive grounds to explore, a carriage museum, livestock, a lakeside walk and many activities going on all year round.
If you enjoy 'Open Gardens'...visit Foamlea at Mortehoe. This beautiful garden is open from May to September via private appointment or a few days over the summer under the NGS. Details can be found in the apartment.
There are many pretty towns and villages within a walk or short drive of the apartment....Mortehoe, a beautiful stone village with tea rooms and pubs, is a welcome stopping place for walkers and cyclists. Ilfracombe, an ancient harbour town with its now famous Verity Statue and Damien Hurst Restaurant. Combe Martin, bordering the Exmoor National Park. Barnstaple, the main market town, main shopping centre and business centre in the North Devon region. The daily pannier market in the old market building is famous for its local food produce, fudge, arts and crafts etc. Clovelly, with its steep cobbled streets, built into a cleft in a 400 ft high cliff, is a pretty seaside village and is definitely worth a visit. The maritime atmosphere, stunning views and whitewashed cottages are both historic and very unusual.

When you book through HomeAway the Service Fee covers Liability Insurance and gives you total peace of mind. Short breaks are priced based on number of nights booked (minimum 3). Alternately please write (Address under 'About the Owner') with your price enquiry or to book direct, as the website sometimes miscalculates the rates. NOTE - Cancellation and early termination.
