About this property

Custom built mountain lodge, with views of Amicalola and Appalachian mountains.

Custom built by Barna homes, this mountain lodge is situated only eighty miles north of Atlanta in the first north Georgia mountain range, with unabstructed views of Amicalola state park, Appalachian mountains and clear sweeping views that are seventy miles wide. Hear the rushing water from local waterfalls, on the thousands of square feet in deck space.

PROPERTY DETAILS:

The first impression of the lodge is serenity mixed with luxury. As you pull up to our property, you will find a large circular driveway and ample parking spaces for all your guests. The lodge is nestled in a lot that is over five acres, which is very private and opens up to unparalleled views.

Continue the smile on your face as you enter inside the lodge, you'll be greeted by beautiful hardwood floors, a floor to ceiling riverstone wood burning fireplace, big views of the north Georgia mountains and a gorgeous custom framed antique stained glass art. The lodge offers a pleasant mix of luxury items, antiques and comfortable furnishings. The first thing you'll want to do is start a cozy fire, take a seat and enjoy the peace and views of the mountains. Take notice in the living room, the twenty foot vaulted ceilings with custom log beams spanning across the ceiling and the antique sailboat above the fireplace.

After you've rested a bit, journey on into your master suite where you'll find a king size plush bed, sixty inch 3D mounted TV, private balcony access with gorgeous views, walk in closet with custom made draws, shelves and hanging areas, ceiling fan and a private ensuite bathroom. The master bathroom has two separate vanities, a porcelain clawfoot soaker tub, bidet and a glass and travertine enclosed shower. You may want to make another pitstop in here and draw yourself a warm bubble bath and relax.

Once you've full explored the master suite area, take a walk down to the kitchen and dining area, which are located on the same floor. Entering the kitchen, you will notice a 1800's antique farm table from the south of France with seating for eight, hanging iron chandelier, entrance to the outside wrap around balcony, a fully equipped kitchen with a five burner gas cooktop with pop up ventilation, wall oven and microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, blender, silverware, plate settings and all the other little gadgets for your cooking/entertaining needs. There is a laundry room just off the kitchen, if you should so choose to do this chore on your vacation. After you've decided what you will cook for dinner in your chefs kitchen, head up to the third level of the lodge.

On the third level of the lodge, you will find to start, an open loft area with a couch and tv. This is a perfect area for kids to escape and have a space of their own without interfering in on the adult zones. To the right, there is a bedroom with a queen size bed, ceiling fan, desk, closet and ensuite bathroom. The ensuite bathroom offers a shower/tub combo as well as the expected vanity and toilet. This is a very large bedroom considering it's not even the master suite with over 500 square feet of private space. After you're done exploring that bedroom, walk down the hall to find another open loft area with custom built desks. The desks have two separate areas that were expertly made by a beloved local carpenter. The loft also offers a queen size bed, that is situated in an oversized dormer area to allow for privacy, as well as curtains that can be drawn to act as a door in front of the bed. Sleep like a baby in this cozy area of the lodge.

After you've fully explored the third level of our home, take a trip down to the terrace level and continue to be amazed by what the lodge offers. First thing on the terrence level you may notice, is a beautiful mahogany pool table and a custom made bar with wine cooler. We also have a antique card table with seating for six, gas fireplace with a fifty inch TV mounted above and sliding glass doors to take you out on the lower balcony with more expansive views of the north Georgia mountains. If that isn't enough for you, we also offer you a sauna with seating for four to five adults, steam room, a movie theater with seating for ten to twelve adults with a 70 inch mounted TV and all custom installed top of line sound system. The movie theater has access to all your favorite streaming TV options such as Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, etc. The terrace level also has two bedrooms each with king size beds, ceiling fans and ensuite bathrooms, leaving the upmost privacy for your guests.

After you've fully explored the interior of the lodge, the last thing to do is enjoy the great outdoors! Enjoy two separate expansive wrap around balconies with a dining table for six, a gas Webber grill with a fixed gas line (no need to worry about propane tanks or running out) a salt water hot tub with space for seven adults with all the bells and whistles a hot tub could offer. Soak and relax during the day and take in the mountain scape or enjoy at night and watch the evening stars twinkle above.

Undisclosed additional space is available for rent at an additional cost. The carriage house above our three car garage offers approximately nine hundred square feet of living space. It boasts a fully equipped kitchen, a small dining area for four people, large living room with pull out sofa bed, walk out balcony with views that rival the main house and a bedroom with queen size bed and closet. Bathroom includes a stand up shower, vanity and toilet.

Please take note that since we're located in the mountains, there is a chance of seeing black bears. This event is actually surreal and exciting! We ask that if you're lucky enough to witness the black bears, please do not feed them, as this is only a danger to you and to the bears. They loose their ability to hunt and become dependent upon your generosity of food. Black bears are very docile and do not pose a general threat. The main thing to remember is not to antagonize a cub near a momma bear. This is the only time they become aggressive and that is simply because they're in protection mode.

OUR LOCATION:

Please enjoy all the wonderful amenities our area offers. They're many spectacular hiking trails located within our mountain community, that offer breathtaking views of the mountains.

Venturing off of our mountain, there are many towns close by worth exploring. The Amicalola state park is just a short drive from our home. This is a must see! The park offers hiking, a magnificent lodge with restaurant (buffet style) and the stunning up close views of one of the highest cascading waterfalls east of the Mississippi, boasting a 729-foot cascade! Our lodge is located roughly between Dahlonega and Blue Ridge. Blue Ridge offers a wide variety of actives such as tubing, antiquing, great restaurants and fudge shops. The town of Dahlonega is very quaint and offers a couple of wonderful wineries. My personal favorites are "Wolf Mountain" and "Montaluce" You can also go mining for gold, white water rafting or just spend the day wandering in the historical downtown shops. If you are feeling a need for a big city feel, Atlanta is about a one and half hour drive from the lodge, which boasts a large selection of shopping, restaurants, and one of the world renowned aquarium's "Georgia aquarium"

Our hope is you truly enjoy and appreciate the lodge in the way we do. The lodge for us, gives us the feeling of being completely surrounded by the natural painting that only mother nature can create. The lodge, is our escape from the day to day routines our lives so often demand of us. It is truly a place to unwind, unplug and be in the moment.

Exceeded Expectations
We have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals but this one is probably the first one to ever exceed our expectations. It was perfect for 4 couples. The views were great. Appliances worked well. Check in and communication were very easy. We hope to return!

A Cabin that is more than it seems!
The Cabin was everything it said it was. But there were also 2 things that could not be put into words. The View & The Owner!!! The views, you just have to see for yourself & The owner, very responsive and made sure everything was explained and covered. The Owner knows how to decorate and lay out everything you need for a stress free stay. We opted to stay at the cabin rather than running around town. Not once did we get board or need/miss anything. If you truly want to disconnect and relax this is the place to do it. So many amenities are packed into this place. I suggest spending a good hour just to walk through the cabin and looking at all the unique art and collectables. We have stayed all over north GA in a wide range of cabins and this one by far was our favorite.
