Convenient Apartment for Family of Four

Super convenient, quiet & clean apartment right in the center of Madrid. You can walk to many major sights, including the Prado & other museums, and it is only a minute's walk from Gran Via metro. Apartment is clean and very quiet. It is on an inner courtyard, back from the street so there is no street noise. There are several steps to get into the apartment. Apartment has high ceilings, closet space, clothes washer & dryer and dishwasher. Very well suited for a week or longer vacation in Madrid. 2nd bedroom has twin beds so it works well for family with two children. I highly recommend this apartment.

Great apartment, great location

The description and photos are accurate. Very good location steps from La Gran Via, taxis, many cafes, and Puerta del Sol. The place was very clean. Having a dryer as well as washer makes packing light possible.

There is a lift in the building but the apartment is up two flights and the elevator only goes up one floor. So the listing says the apartment is not handicapped accessible, and this is absolutely true.

The apartment has no street exposure, so it is very quiet with regards to street noise.

Miguel met us at the apartment even though our fight into Madrid was late - he was very accommodating. We asked for restaurant recommendations and Miguel suggested La Gloria Montera, just next door. It is inexpensive with very good food and the staff provides great service. There is a small grocery a couple of doors away and El Corte Ingles (like the Macy's of Spain) is on Puerta del Sol.

El Prado, La Reina Sofia, Thyssen-Bornemizsa are 10-15 minutes walk away. La Plaza Mayor with lots of sunshine and good cafes is a few steps past La Puerta del Sol.

I definitely recommend this apartment and would stay there again.

Optimal location but pictures much too flattering

The apartment is located right in the centre of Madrid within walking distance to most major sights, including The Prado and Retiro Park, close to pedestrian streets, restaurants and shops - and only minutes away from Gran Via metro, so in that respect the apartment is great and recommendable. Miguel was easy to reach both by phone and email, so checking in although at midnight was no problem. However the apartment disappointed compared to our expectations from the pictures. It is situated at the bottom (1rst floor) on an inner narrow courtyard, back from the street, and hardly any daylight reaches the apartment. There is no street noise, but there is noise from people going up and down the stairs to the other apartment and from the humming from every other air-conditioning placed on the walls of the courtyard. The private terrace is really ugly and unpleasant. The furniture were different from the pictures: the sofa much smaller and only fitting two people which is a bit annoying when you are a family of four, the chairs for the dining table much cheaper and uncomfortable. The twin beds were hard and creaking. And there is much to wish for, if you want to cook you own meal: general lack of kitchen utensils, one knife that can’t cut properly aso. The apartment was clean though, but a bit worn, you could say that it generally needed some care and attention. As it is now, it is a bit too expensive compared to what you can get of comfort and quality in other apartments of this price layer.

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits à 2 couples dans cet appartement très bien situé, tout près de la Grande Via et des rues piétonnes très animées, proche de tous les sites et quartiers. Nous avons tout visité à pied (environ 10 à 12 km par jour). Cependant photos de l'appartement trop flatteuses par rapport à la réalité. C'est un appartement qui a déjà bien vécu et qui mériterait un petit rafraichissement. Les photos nous montrent une location très coquette et lumineuse avec un patio sympa or au final l'appartement est très basique. Pas de clarté, pas de fleur, patio sans intérêt si ce n'est pour fumer. En résumé bien mais un peu cher pour la qualité des prestations !!

muy buena ubicación, aunque me desilusiones al ll

La verdad esperaba encontrarme con un apartamento más cálido como en las fotos, me gustó el patio, las plantas, y me desilusiones mucho cuando llegue y las plantas no estaban, había escaleras, y el patio estaba realmente feo y descuidado, aunque creo que nada que no se pueda solucionar con un poco de ganas, y que las fotos reflejen la realidad . La ubicación me pareció muy buena, en este sentido lo recomiendo.
