Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Fort McCoy - Lakefront Brown Cabin

1Bdrm, 1Ba, Big Den

Totally charming and well-maintained, this cozy cottage is in a wonderful lakefront setting with 300 feet of shoreline outside your door. With a substantial dock, clean beach, and a concrete boat ramp, you can enjoy this spring-fed natural lake.

The cottage's interior boasts hand-finished tongue and groove pine paneling, and every room has a view of Miles Kale Lake!! A breezy screened porch overlooks this special place as well. This sand-bottom lake is clean and wonderful for fishing, swimming, and boating. Our whole family learned to ski here.

Exactly half-way between Ocala and Gainesville, you can be in either city or Palatka in 30 minutes for dining, shopping, entertainment, cultural events, or health care. Or, drive 55 minutes to Daytona Beach, or less than 2 hours to Disney attractions. This serene setting is for those who like to be close to nature with the advantages of cities nearby.

Great summertime place for the family - you commute to Gainesville or Ocala or P

Fantastic winter haven from the frigid north!! Wonderful Central Florida retreat for retired couples or family who are sick of go-go attractions.

Centrally located: this wonderful lake home is centrally located between Ocala, Gainesville, and Palatka, Florida. it is one mile from the intersection of Marion County Roads 318 and 315.

OTHER OPTIONS: I have two other homeawayc.om lakefront properties: Listing/property ID 127321 on the acre next door and Listing/property ID 910353 on the next lake over. Both of these listings are larger homes with many fine amenities as well. All 3 are close in case you wish to have a large group or family reunion.

Comfy, Cozy and Relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

My Husband and I love this cabin. We stayed in 2013 for 6days and again recently in July for 3 days. This will forever be our relaxing vacation spot. Next time we definitely need to stay a little longer. We went grocery shopping and didn't leave the entire time. The cabin is clean and has everything you need. We took our boxer and he loved it. Highly recommend staying here.

2 glorious weeks at the Brown Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 restful weeks at the Brown Cottage. My parnets visited and loved it so much they stayed with us. My sister and her family were next door so there was a lot of visiting while sitting under the trees and looking at the lake. You will not be disappointed if you book a stay at the cottage.

Peaceful, Quant and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking to get away and enjoy the sounds of nature and the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of the rat race.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed Valentines weekend there and will definately be back again. The property is beautiful and private and the cottage is cozy. Took a spin around the lake in a canoe and enjoyed sitting around the campfire.

Thanks Ed for your outstanding hospitality!

Sears Family Stay

Very enjoyable and peaceful. Remi enjoyed trying to eat the lilypads while we canoed. Enjoyed scary movies, and playing card games. Loved the photos I took. Beautiful area. Plan a return trip.

Sun & Fun on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

Recently our family took a trip to the Lake Place. If you're looking for a get-away (it's out there) this is your destination. Everything was as advertised and we had a truly wonderful stay!

We chose this location because it is not only on a lake, but it has a boat ramp on the property. We took our 17' Powerboat and enjoyed a couple of days on the lake tubing and wake boarding.

The house provided everything we needed to enjoy our time there, we made sure to enjoy the grill, picnic tables,, and the fire pit. The cabin slept 5 adults comfortably, and were able to bring our Cocker Spaniel for a modest fee.

Would absolutely stay here again! Mr. Wynne was polite, prompt, and a pleasure to do business with.
