1 Bedroom Luxury Country Apartment in the Woods near Shawangunk Ridge
About Linda Bradford
I'm a long time resident of the Hudson Valley and love this area and all it has to offer. I enjoy morning walks, bike rides on our local trails, kayaking on many nearby rivers and lakes, and attempting to play golf! I also love dining out and have been in the hospitality business for years. Being a VRBO host is a exciting new venture for me, and I look forward to meeting interesting new people and helping to make their stay as enjoyable as possible.

The owners live upstairs; however, we felt that we had complete privacy. The apartment was well stocked with coffee, milk, and even a bottle of wine, a pleasant surprise. The apartment is well decorated and much nicer than in the photos.
Oct 2019 - 1 Week Break
Really enjoyed our stay. We were looking for somewhere that was quiet, peaceful and comfortable and this property surpassed our expectations.
Previous reviews mentioned privacy concerns around the hot-tub but we didn't find this an issue (and we like our privacy).
Would not hesitate to recommend or return. The Autumn/Fall scenery was fantastic, there's lots to see and do and returning to a hot tub at night is just a great way to relax.
The little "extras' provided by Linda were a lovely touch and made it easy to settle.quickly.
You will.not be disappointed!
Secluded apartment for weekend getaway
We booked Linda's apartment for a weekend upstate for our friends' wedding nearby. We actually booked it for the minimum 2 nights but we ended up only staying for the second night since we didn't want to drive up after work on Friday. We had our son with us, so their was enough room to set up his pack and play in the living space and let him run around. They also have a nice field and pond that he enjoyed exploring. We actually didn't meet Linda, but she just left the door open for us with a welcome note. Just keep in mind that this is in the lower level of her home and so you'll hear footsteps and light voices above. We're city dwellers and used to it, and our son wakes up early anyway, but may bother some others.
Peaceful Retreat and Hidden Gem
I rented this property for it’s close proximity to Mohonk Mountain House where my family and I needed to attend a wedding over Memorial Day Weekend. It was so much more than just a place to lay our heads at night. It was beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, clean and such a nice escape from the hectic schedule we were on. Linda the owner is wonderful! She answered all my questions I had prior to my booking and was very helpful during our stay. I will definitely book this property again and look forward to returning. Thank you Linda and Al for sharing your beautiful unit for us to enjoy. With Gratitude, Marisa F.
Thank you Marisa for your kind words. So happy that you enjoyed your stay. We will look forward to your return!
Spring break. A much needed trip.
Linda’s space was precisely what we were hoping for. When we vacation we typically bring a weeks worth of food with the aim of not having to leave. We were able to do so and chose to leave only to pick up various food stuffs. There are plenty of grocery stores and what not quite close by.
The jacuzzi was lovely and quite simple to use. It definitely helped rinse away the stress of NYC and launch us into vacation bliss. She even provided robes and slippers to wear to the jacuzzi. A nice touch.
During our stay we barely noticed anyone coming and going in the apartment above. It proved quite useful to have Linda living on site because she was able rapidly help us when the cable stopped working (most likely I pressed a button on the back of the tv) and the gas to the gril went out. It is clear she takes pride in accommodating the needs of her guests and is quite easy to talk with in the event you should need anything. What a hospitable host!
We were led to believe this would be a private secluded relaxing weekend getaway, with no neighbors, as the description says. We did not realize it's an apartment in their house. We felt uncomfortable going in their hottub, as the blinds were open and we could see into their living room, which also means they could have been watching us. It's not like they were away. No they were home and we could hear them walking around. We just felt uncomfortable. Nothing they can do about it but just be aware what your situation is going to be like. We honestly thought no neighbors meant no neighbors. Turns out you're sharing the house with the owners. I felt bad because my girlfriends and I are loud and i apologize if they had to go to work Monday morning. We stayed up late drinking wine and playing board games. It was fun but just be aware what you're getting yourself into.
Hi Sarah, I am sorry and saddened that you felt mislead and uncomfortable. Our listing does state that this is an apartment on the ground floor of our home. Yes, we live in our home, but our location is private & secluded, with over 100 acres of field and woods abutting our acreage. The hot tub is located on the same level as the apartment and I assure you that we have NO view of the hot tub from our second floor living room window as our deck fully blocks it. We are always very respectful of our guest’s privacy. The apartment has a separate entrance and is not shared, just located in the same structure. Furthermore, we enter and exit from a door on the opposite side of the house, never passing the apartment or hot tub area. Living on premise does allow us to maintain the hot tub pristinely, keep the fire wood stocked for the wood stove and fire pit, plow & shovel promptly for our guests when it snows and provide all the extras such as bagels, fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, stocked food pantry, and other basics we generously choose to supply. I’m glad that you enjoyed the bottle of wine and board games that we left for you, but sorry that you feel our place did not meet your expectations. Also, I have added a footnote to the description of our property to insure better clarity.
