Could be so much better with attention and aircon
Lovely converted historic building with lots of character but rather dark inside. The local stray cat seems to find a way of getting into the house.
The marketing photos have been taken with a very wide angle lenses and in the photos the rooms look far bigger and better lit than they do in reality. The interior did not meet our expectations from the photos and we felt cheated. The main ground floor bedroom is tiny - it has no space for a wardrobe - as is the bathroom next to it. The main bathroom in the turret is stunning but very hot. There is no air-conditioning and the portable fans are totally inadequate. It is difficult to get cross flow ventilation and after the sun has been on the building all day it is like an oven inside. Sleeping is hot, sweaty and uncomfortable - not what you expect when you are paying this kind of money. It ruined our holiday.
The pool is excellent - clean, attractive and a good size. The terrace areas are nice - a great place to sit and eat in the evening and the views are nice. The cabana was a nice touch but not very clean so we didn't use it. The tiled floor in the main space was filthy. You couldn't see the dirt but on a trip to the bathroom you came back with black feet. I suspect it is never washed. The sheets did not fit the bed properly and so when you turned over the sheets came loose, which just added to the discomfort, along with the oven-like temperature.
With a little bit more investment and redesign, air-con and better cleaning this place could be stunning.
