About the property

Get back to nature with this rustic modern cabin within 7 miles of downtown.

We take pride in providing great vacations for our guests. Here is a recent guest's review: "This is the perfect Asheville vacation house. The house was beautiful and shockingly spacious for the size. The owners were very easy to speak with and the deck is perfect in every way. We really cannot get over how great this place was. It's the kind of place you'd want to stay forever."

Our brand new rustic modern cabins allow you to reconnect with nature and loved ones, and stay within a short Uber ride to fabulous downtown Asheville. Relax on the expansive porch with seating and dining areas, and a retro cone fireplace (firewood provided). Take a dip in our pristine hot tub under the stars, and be spoiled with extra towels and cozy robes. Play yard games with friends. Have a fire pit cookout and s'mores roast. Sit and read a book at benches along Shope Creek. Take a nap in an Eno hammock under the towering trees. Enjoy mountain views, wildlife and the many native plants.

The cabin interior features an open floor plan and modern conveniences. The main living space features rustic modern furnishings, a large flatscreen TV, and fully-stocked kitchen with new stainless appliances. The master suite includes a new queen bed with luxurious linens. The second floor loft space has two cozy twin beds and plenty of books, games and toys (please note the loft ladder weight limit is 220lb, and is not recommended for young children or people with mobility challenges). Our spa-like bath includes fluffy towels, organic bath products and a large tiled shower.

This cabin is nestled along the babbling Shope Creek just 1 mile from dozens of hiking and biking trails, 4 miles from the nearest entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 7 miles from downtown, brewery districts and the Biltmore House. After a short drive or Uber ride, you'll arrive in downtown Asheville with its award-winning restaurants, galleries, huge antique malls, mircro breweries and boutique shopping. For foodies, we recommend Buxton Hall Southern BBQ and neighboring microbreweries in the South Slope District, Night Bell featuring James Beard awardee Chef Katie Button, Chai Pani Indian Street Food with MG Road cocktail lounge downstairs on Wall Street, En La Calle Mexican food on Eagle St, and Bouchon French Comfort Food and Creperie on Lexington Ave.

About Mae

Modcabins is a family owned business. We designed and built rustic modern cabins just 7 miles from downtown Asheville. We are passionate about the tiny house movement, a cultural shift to live a more self-sufficient, environmentally friendly and financially secure life. We love hosting visitors to our little cabins in this beautiful mountain setting.

We recognize that on average, our guests have only a few weeks of vacation time each year. Therefore we spoil our guests with a relaxing and luxurious experience that allows guests to reconnect with nature and loved ones, and feel restored and when returning home.

Why Mae chose Asheville

I am an Appalachian native, and love being a part of our mountain community. We chose this property because it is located conveniently only 7 miles to downtown Asheville, 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 1 mile from dozens of hiking trails in the Pisgah National Forest. The property also borders the beautiful Shope Creek, with mountain and forest views.

Perfectly perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed in this amazing little cabin for a short getaway to Asheville and we couldnt be happier! It was situated in area that felt very removed from the city but was actually perfectly located. We spent 80% of our time in the amazing outdoor living space and despite the drastically fluctuating weather that we experienced, it was so comfy and inviting.

We love to travel and it was probably in our Top 5 best stays of all time. Cant wait to go back!

Perfect Asheville Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Exceeded all expectations! We recently spent St. Patrick's Day weekend here to celebrate my wife's birthday and we absolutely will be coming back. We loved the cabins modern design and layout and couldn't believe how clean and well stocked everything was when we arrived; the owners definitely pay attention to the details. The fireplace was clean with a full rack of dried firewood close by (they even had a lighter, newspaper, and kindling in a bucket to get things going!), the bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels and toiletries and even two robes in the master closet. We honestly spent most of our time on the HUGE covered front porch enjoying the fire and reading on the couch-swing. The cabin is also very close to a nice little stream that has a picnic table that we used to eat breakfast on the morning of our departure. Although the location is very close to downtown Asheville, we would like to come back for a longer stay just to enjoy all the amenities this place has to offer. Did I mention the hot tub?!
