Great location on the canal. The dock and covered deck are perfect. Having the kayaks available was a fun bonus. Beautiful landscape! The house is clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Nice to walk to Vanderbilt Beach.
Thank you Peggy! We're glad you enjoyed.
Fabulous screened in back porch was ideal for breakfast as well cocktail hour.
If you would like to be within walking distance to Vanderbilt Beach, this is the house for you. The ranch style home sits along a canal so that bird, fish and sunset sightings are memorable. If you are a garden lover, the orchids attached to the palm trees are a delight. The only downfall is that the area’s roads are under construction.
Tastefully Decorated House on the Canal
We were pleased with our stay at this centrally located house in a nice area. Everything in the house worked and there was plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy the weather.
The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms modern and large. There was some road construction around the house but this seems to be ubiquitous in the area. The construction never bothered us due to the wall separating the house from the street.
We would stay here again next winter.
Disappointing overall. Nice house but located within a few yards from construction, not disclosed.
I was looking for a place to take my parents, both in their 80's, to enjoy a relaxing week of sitting by the water, going for walks and exploring the area, and this house seemed like a good choice. The listing was accurate as far as the pictures, the description of the house, the location at the end of a canal, the amenities, etc. It was clean, nicely decorated and had pretty landscaping. I liked the screened-in lanai and the chairs that were situated outside on the dock near the water. Keith, the owner, left some nice treats and a bottle of wine and made us feel right at home! He was also very helpful and responsive when we asked questions about local restaurants, beaches, bike rentals, etc. There was an issue with the new sprinkler system and the zones that were directly outside the bedroom windows were programmed to go on at 4 am and the water was loudly hitting the bedroom windows thus waking everyone up. I suggested changing the time that the sprinklers went on, and he quickly responded by temporarily disabling the whole system (this was not my intention!) but glad he helped and thankfully it rained that week! The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable for the most part (there was a plastic mattress cover directly under the bottom sheet that I didn't care for). In the master bedroom, the main closet door was locked and although there was a small rack on the back of the door for hanging a few items, I would suggest an over-the-door rack with an extending arm so there is more space for hanging clothes. Not a big deal, but just an observation and since the owner asked for feedback and suggestions, there you go! Our overall disappointment was based on something that had we been forewarned about, we would have made other arrangements and would NOT have stayed here! But unfortunately it was not disclosed even though the owner was well aware and we didn't find out until 2 days before when I called to ask a question. There was (and still is 3/2018) a MAJOR construction project going on within feet from the house! Disruptive, noisy, dusty, and at times it was simply unbearable to stay at the house due to the construction - the whole house was shaking from large cranes and jackhammers breaking up concrete literally within feet of the house. They worked from 7 am to 6 pm most days and sadly this was not relaxing! FYI - the Project Manager said it won't be completed until the Fall of 2018 so I would find out a status prior to booking.
5 Star Accommodation
What a stay we had! We absolutely feel in love with this property. The house was so clean and updated with having a cool, modern flare to it- we LOVED it! Just having a glass of wine watching the sunset on the canal took our breath away every night. We will stay here again and again. THANK YOU!!
The house was amazing. Clean, bright, spacious and comfortable.
The owner was available to answer any questions and attend to anything needed.
Would definitely stay here again.
Thank you Keith for a memorable vacation.
