My partner, me and our two young daughters Charlotte and Morgan love to visit our new apartment in L'Albir and enjoy the beautiful sea, the lovely walks to Altea along the Paseo Maritimo and the great food. We just bought the apartment this year after seeing many possible locations and chose L'Albir for its quaint, relaxing and excellent location. We live in San Francisco Bay Area but come to Spain typically twice a year for vacation and to see friends.

L'Albir is like an oasis in the busy Mediterranean Costa Blanca. You have the best of both worlds--the quaint, relaxing Albir village (an originally planned Norwegian community with its own Norwegian school), next to the buzzing Benidorm, a mere 10 min. drive north, and the artsy Altea within walking distance. You can venture south 10 min. drive into beautiful Mascarat with the world famous Puerto Campomanes, where you can enjoy lunch viewing some of the most beautiful yachts circling the Mediterraneun. You can drive 10 more minutes to the Isthmus of Calpe or venture into the interior to visit the most interesting typical Spanish towns of Polop and many others with their churches, old mansions, local flavors and local festivities. You can golf in Albir itself at the Club Albir Pitch and Put Golf or at the nearby 18 hole Melia Villaitana Golf Club. There is no better place to enjoy all this than from L'Albir. We love it!
What makes this Apartment unique
You sit on the terrace watching the sea waves. You walk just 50mts and there you are. A vibrant but not overcrowded beach, a beautiful walking path to Altea to take in the evenings before dinner. But you are also next to the centre of the village of L'Albir, with all its amenities and services. Plenty of low budget local restaurants or high end sea food and paella or steak restaurants. Just 30 minutes from Alicante Airport, you can also drive half hour to Denia, take a 2 hour ferry to Ibiza even for the day. L'Albir has it all... in our we love it. It attracts mostly a community of Scandinavian, Dutch, Germans, British, and French tourists, with the balance, especially around the Summer months, from Madrid, Valencia and the North of Spain. The Albir community is lively not just in the summer months, but throughout the rest of the year. A big difference with other resorts which go sleep from Sept. to June

Directly if you enter this appartement, the sewage smell is welcoming you. When you enter the living room the moisture smell hits you. The kitchen cabinets are not suitable to store food, so they are stinking. The promised TV is only the free channels to receive. So i had to place a other system on my own cost. It is not possible to close to balcony doors, hence you are not safe for the night. The beds in the master bedroom needs really to be replaced, we are suffering heavy back pain due to this bed. The second bedroom is the limit, it is so small that there is only 1 inch space between the walls, elderly people have to clime over the beds. Kitchen utensils are the bare minimum. Dogs are permitted in the add. However the building rules do not permit them. Hence we faced problems wit the community. Allover we advise you not to rent this.
Nothing for this gentleman seems good but he didnt complain about anything during his stay of over a month until he checked out except for the TV because he assumed there were paid dutch channels when the apartment description says there is only satellite TV. There are 2 sets of balcony doors one at the terrace and another one between the terrace and the living room which many apartments take out. I removed those doors to make more space in the living area. His description is totally misleading. You might want to check all the prior Reviews to notice that no one is complaining about all these other things.
The location of this quiet apartment is superb. It has easy access to the promenade and all the facilities wonderful Albir has to offer (shops, restaurants, supermarkets and buses).
However, the apartment has an atmosphere of a lack of care, neglect and much needed maintenance. Cannot fault the owner for his quick response to our request for replacement chairs but the focus must be on improved maintenance.
We just did the bathroom remodel and the entry hallway, as well as put new electric cooking appliance in the kitchen. Unfortunate that 2 terrace chairs were apparently broken by a prior tenant, but we replaced as soon as we were told. The apartment building is a 40 year old building and therefore not the newest but the location is ideal and the apartment decor and inside is quaint and comfortable.
Very good location and excellent views. My wife and I know the apartment block from many years ago and it is still the same albeit modernised to some extent. The apartment itself needs the balcony doors looked at because they don't lock properly but apart from that really nice.
The location is ideal because it is 1 minute walk to the beach, close to bars.
, restaurants and shops but very quiet in the evening. I think the surrounding buildings block the noise.

Our sea-side holiday at Jose's place was fantastic! Wouter and Christine welcomed us at check-in with the keys and some information about the local attractions--of which there are so many. We then took a dip in the exquisite, absolutely clean pool and walked to one of the many, many local, sea-side restaurants for dinner. Everything in the apartment was well-situated, comfortable, and clean. We did some cooking in the well-equipped kitchen (with two markets about one block away), enjoyed sunning ourselves at the beach (about a 30 second walk from the apartment!), and sat on the front terrace reading and enjoying the peace and quiet. We cannot wait to return and give this place the thumbs up! A wonderful place and not to be missed!

The view is fantastic and it is so close to the sea. Takes 2 minutes. We enjoyed Albir so much. Also the children could play at the beach club where they organize games, they offer free wifi, newspapers. The pool at the apartment is also very nice when you just want to relax in the evening. Definitely will come back.
Stayed for 6 nights, great apartment, close to all amenities, pool wonderful and clean - residence so charming, especially the Dutch couple in one of the 1 bed apartments and the lady beside us with the blind and deaf dog. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Am checking diary for next year and will return. The Texas Rib restaurant 50m away is good value for excellent food and the staff are brilliant... 10 out of 10 for the apartment - Could do with driving directions given from Airports in the information received other than that brilliant.
Albir, a planned sea-side community in close proximity to Altea, was created in the mid-1970s on former orchard groves. One of the most beautiful parts of the Costa Blanca—the “White Coast”—which runs along the Mediterranean for 244 km, Albir hosts sizeable numbers of Scandinavians, Dutch, German, British, and Spanish tourists. The course of the Costa Blanca is whimsical and tortuous when seen from the lighthouse of Albir, the mighty watchtower of L’Alfas del Pi, on the very edge of one of the precipices of the Sierra Helada. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of its construction, the path leading to it has been extended with a branch that ends at a water catchment dating from the 16th century. Along the path are viewing points with spectacular vistas of the Rock of Ifach and the cove of El Metge.
