The Mischabel is a split level apartment on the second floor that can sleep 6 people. However the master bedroom can also be arranged as a family room (the sitting area has a day bed that converts in to a full sized double bed) which means it could sleep 8 people.
The apartment is fully equipped with all the essentials including wifi, a coffee machine, hairdryers packs and a home made cake will be there to greet you when you arrive. The large open-plan kitchen/living-room leads on to a full-width, south-facing balcony looking directly at the Matterhorn and also has a 55' home cinema system (complete with all UK channels and Apple TV) - you can have breakfast gazing out at the mountain and, after a hard day on the mountains, get cosy by the fire drinking a glass of wine and watching a film in the evenings.
For larger groups there is the possibility to take the apartment below (Le Petit) which sleeps 4.
The 3 Chez Nous apartments are all in the same building (Haus Maoli) just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Zermatt/the ski bus. All the apartments have large south facing balconies with un-interrupted views straight out on to The Matterhorn. One of the few remaining fields is just in front of us which gives a welcome feeling of space despite being so close to all the restaurants, the church bridge and the lift stations/bus.
We have 3 apartments available to rent so larger groups of family and friends can be in the same building but with their own space to retreat to!
The Corbassiere Apartment is a new addition to Chez Nous for the winter 2016/17 season and is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the 3rd floor that can sleep up to 6 people.
The Mischabel is a split level apartment with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the second floor that can sleep 6-8 people.
Le Petit (actually much bigger than it sounds because it comfortably sleeps 4/5 people!) is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the first floor.
Your hosts Lizzie & Angus live in the same building so in addition to everything that we do before you get here (we can organise ski schools, book restaurants, help with child care etc) we are also on hand during your stay to help with any questions. And if for any reason we are not here, we have a couple who will be here to look after you in our absence who both know Zermatt very well so you will be in good hands.
The only practical point to bear in mind is that direct access to our building from street level is down 3 flights of stairs. However once your luggage is installed most guests then use the shortcut to the village via a path across the field in front of the house.

We (Lizzie Orange and Angus Potter) have been living and working in Zermatt for the last 10 years (and Angus has been skiing here since he was 9 years old). We met here and, having left our 'London lives' behind, decided that Chez Nous was a great way to combine our skills. As well as running Chez Nous, Angus teaches skiing at one of the local ski schools (Stoked) and Lizzie is a private chef, organises events and, in the event that Chez Nous is not right for you, she can also tailor-make a holiday in Zermatt for you.

Initially we ran a small b&b from our own apartment but we now have 4 apartments in this building (the Swiss laws re. foreigners buying property allowed us to buy one and lease the others) and as from Winter 2016/17, Chez Nous has 3 apartments to rent (The Corbassiere which sleeps 6 on the 3rd floor, The Mischabel which sleeps 6-8 on the 2nd floor and Le Petit which sleeps 4 on the 1st floor). We offer our guests the privacy of a self-catered holiday combined with the feel and warmth of staying in someone else's home. We have completely re-furnished the flats to create a more cosy atmosphere that aims to make you feel at home from the moment you walk in.
When we set up Chez Nous I don’t think either of us imagined the pleasure we would get from meeting and getting to know the guests who have stayed with us. We spent a lot of time talking about how we wanted the flats to look (and, as anyone who has done this will know, arguing about what should go where!) but didn’t foresee how nice it would be to see families and friends enjoying the space we have created.
We are delighted to be able to welcome so many guests who now stay with us each year (as well as saying hello to new guests) and we are doing our best to make sure we add a few new touches to each apartment each season to keep them fresh as well as familiar
We hope that us being 'on site' (without being in your way) will help you get the most out of your holiday. Angus knows the ski area like the back of his hand and Lizzie's forte is food - so between us we think we have the most important things covered. We will be on hand to make recommendations, reservations, answer any questions or simply have a glass of wine with you in the evening if you want to come upstairs and say hello.
the Mischabel condo was the perfect setting for our family of 5 looking for central location in town(Zermatt). besides its great location (and view of the Matterhorn), it was extremely clean and up to date (all very important to my wife) and had a terrific layout with a very sizeable and well-appointed common room adjacent to the kitchen for common living space and family congregation. the rooms are spacious and nicely done. it is always hard to discern the quality of a place by viewing on line; in this case, our expectations were greatly exceeded. Lizzie, who could not be nicer, made the whole check in process seamless, and was very helpful with tips on how to assimilate quickly (activities to pursue, location of grocery stores, etc). highly recommended by us.
If you want to take the apartment to sleep 8 (rather than 6) by using the extra 2 beds that are available in the master bedroom to make a family room, we will charge you an additional 40chf per extra bed per night.
Listed rates include: all local taxes; taxi transfer from the station at the start and finish of your stay and a welcome hamper in your apartment.

Just wonderful. All the time consuming admin details were dealt with well in advance of our arriving. Lizzie and Angus had organised and given us advice on passes, ski hire, lunch and supper reservations, instructors, the Geneva train etc etc.
Their apartments are wonderful. Beautifully presented with delicious soaps, very comfy beds and sofas, huge windows with no close neighbours looking in and a spectacular view of the Mattethorn to gaze at during breakfast.
The children appreciated the chocolates in the boot room, the parents loved the stocked fridge ready for us and the ease, humour, efficiency and focus that Lizzie and Angus showed us in running this successful business.
We cant recommend this set up enough.
The Hosts were just amazing! They told us the best places to eat, shop, apres ski bars, what taxi service to use, rent ski equipment, etc. The location was beyond great (5-10 mis to everywhere) and the views from the unit were just stunning! Our trip to Zermatt was made perfect by this amazing chalet. The views from the chalet were amazing each morning, you can see the Matterhorn from the deck and windows. The apartment is beautiful inside with plenty of space and top of the line amenities. The location makes it a 5-10 minute walk to the lifts and all the restaurants and shopping.
The best part about this booking is the couple who operate it, Lizzie and Angus. I reached out to Lizzie several months in advance and she made booking everything a piece of cake. She also exchanged close to 30 emails and several phone calls prior to our trip. She helped us plan every detail to our trip from rentals, restaurants, answered questions about the area, etc. Lizzie was responsive in all communication and ensured that we had all the necessary information for our trip to make it a success. The service that Lizzie provided in addition to booking was truly above and beyond. She went as far as helping us make dinner reservations and was a constant resource the entire week we were there. Lizzie and Angus made you feel as if you were part of their extended family with their attentiveness. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Zermatt to contact Lizzie.
My family and I just concluded a spectacular week in Zermatt in The Mischabel apartment. From the first email inquiry many months ago, it was apparent that amazing quality of the experience would not be limited to the gorgeous, spotless flat that we were renting but rather would extend to every last detail of the visit. As a frequent and admittedly high-maintnance traveler, I tend to meticulously research all aspects of destinations. For me, that’s part of the fun of travel. As such, I was reluctant to surrender details to Lizzie…but am I glad I did. From the little things that tend to make the first day of a ski trip a hassle (particularly flying in with kids from across the ocean) such as collecting lift tickets, figuring out where to rent skis, picking up basic provisions to identifying and reserving the “go to” restaurants in Zermatt, Lizzie’s concierge work would make the Four Seasons envious and jealous. Her “secret” installation of a Christmas tree a few days before the holiday was an over-the-top touch that was the norm rather than the exception.
The location was great. The core of the town of Zermatt (the main Banhofstrasse) was no more than a five or six minute walk. The stroll to the primary Matterhorn Express lift was around ten minutes but (with Lizzie’s guidance) we stored our ski stuff at the lift so the walk was in normal shoes without carrying equipment. This is obviously different that ski in/ ski out locations (which essentially does not exist in Zermatt) but for us, the trade-off of a charming village with tons of restaurants and shops (along with being able to store the skis at the lift) was worth the short walk in the morning and evening.
The apartment itself was perfect - large enough to keep my two sons from killing each other and for everyone to have privacy. Totally clean and luxurious – great electronics, fully stocked kitchen, great linens, A+ water pressure and showers, easy access to washer/dyrer and killer view of the main event…The Matterhorn. Simply put, everything worked exactly as it should and it’s hard to overstate how significant that can be.
It’s hard to find faults of consequence. We are currently wrestling with our general philosophy of not wanting to go back to the same place time and time again as there simply cannot be a better set-up for a ski holiday. If the smile on everyone’s face is any indication, I’m certain we will return.
The Mischabel is a fabulous apartment with easy reach of everything Zermatt has to offer even giving us a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. Nothing is too much trouble for Lizzie and she makes your stay a real home from home. We will definitely come back again!

Impeccably decorated with the most amazing views of the Matterhorn. I could not think of a better place to stay in Zermatt. It does not get any better than this.

Zermatt deserves its reputation as one of the world's best mountain resorts - there is a magical quality to it all year round.
The Klein Matterhorn cable car is the highest cable car in Europe (3,883m at the summit) and on a clear day gives you simply breathtaking views out towards Mont Blanc and its surrounding peaks. Alternatively start your day on the Gornergrat railway which originally opened in 1898 and is the second highest railway in Europe (after the Jungfrau) - a great feat of Swiss engineering. From the top of Gornergrat you get a sweeping panorama of 29 'four thousanders' (mountains over 4,000m) including the Monte Rosa which is the highest mountain in Switzerland.
In the winter your lift pass covers the Zermatt and Cervinia and includes some 360km of marked runs but if that isn't enough you can also ice skate, sledge, hike, snow shoe, try curling or simply swim and relax in one of the village hotel's wonderful wellness areas.
In the summer there is glorious hiking, climbing, a fun park for the children, cycling, tennis, squash, paragliding and plenty of places to have a picnic by a lake.
At any time of year Zermatt has something to offer and its mountain restaurants are second to none in the Alps so the gourmet will not be disappointed either.
