About the property

Luxury house for nature lovers 2 bedrooms , 3 bathrooms -2 with jacuzzi

Wonderful house for nature lovers who want to disconnect from the stress, panoramic views, incomparable, the mountains, the people, the sky. 10 minutes from the beach, the best restaurants on the island. Sandy beaches, rocky beaches. Very near the Golf Pollensa `Ca'n Bregat in 10 minutes. An enchanting reformed farmhouse cottage in an idyllic private location, set in the very heart of the Colonya Valley, surrounded by green woodland and pretty olive groves.

It's a villa full of lovely surprises. The house is extremely private and peaceful with the most amazing views down into the valley. A tranquil spot for a quiet nature holiday but with Pollenca Old Town just a short drive away for fantastic restaurants or for the bustling Sunday morning market.

The villa is at the very end of a quiet lane and has a large gravelled parking area with a pretty mirador that has a small table and chairs from where to enjoy the fabulous views.

The pool area has surrounding sun terraces with a low balustrade wall next to a covered barbecue casita with bench table and chairs and corner sofas.

Three steps up lead to a large covered terrace that runs the full length of the villa. There is a solid distressed wood dining table here with wrought iron backed chairs, antique farming implements, stone seating with pretty cushions, beautiful plant pots and a comfy wicker sofa and table to relax with a book and a glass of wine. Arabic lights give an eclectic bohemian feel and a calming atmosphere.

There is also a 'chill-out' covered area at the side of the terrace furnished with a white mattress with a canopy and seating. There is also a luxury exterior shower bathroom with a large walk-in shower, wc and sink unit.

The entrance to this stunning villa is through a mallorcan low-beamed solid wood door on the terrace and leads into this delightful villa that has original open stone walls and beamed ceilings. There is a solid wood and glass dining table with a large chandelier hanging above. The design is a fusion of traditional Mallorcan farmhouse with a contemporary interior and the effect is amazing.

The kitchen is open plan and is to the left. It has white units with an island for the sink and storage units. There is a modern vitro hob with a large stainless steel cooker hood, a split level oven and microwave, a large fridge freezer and a small dispenser with mallorcan wood door.

The lounge is to the right and is decorated simply with open stone and neutral walls, a cream sofa and a distressed coffee table. There is a flat screen TV here with a DVD player and wood-burning stove. A door with small glass panes leads onto the front covered terrace.

Between the lounge and the dining room is a stairway leading to the upper level bedrooms. On the left is a fantastic twin bedroom (beds pushed together) that has sloping beamed ceilings with spotlights, deep red painted walls and striking bedside tables and arabic wall lights. There is a large picture window that looks out over the valley across rolling fields towards Pollensa. The bathroom is completely inside the bedroom and has a wc separated from view by a small dividing wall. There is a large modern sink unit and a large corner jacuzzi bath.

To the right of the stairway is another bedroom that has two beds pushed together decorated with distressed white wood furniture. This bedroom also has the bathroom integrated into the bedroom with the wc hidden from view by a small dividing wall. It has a rectangular jacuzzi bath and both baths have a hidden pull out shower attachment for showering. There is also a glass sink on a pedestal here and pretty small paned windows overlooking the front of the villa.

There are air-conditioning units for hot and cold air in the bedrooms.

The Casa Rafalet is a hidden jewel which is something different and special from a lot of other villas set admist beautiful scenery. It is pefect for families or friends who require a quirky property in a peaceful location.

It's simple, sure there are bigger house, more luxurious, more modern, but none is located on this site. At the top of a mountain, La Penya of Rafalet, our property, with stunning views, you feel the master of the world just 10 minutes from the nearest town, and to round out this gift of nature, a remodelled home with exquisite taste and love. house that originally was for 6 people, we remodelled for 4 people, to be very comfortable and spacious, has 2 Jacuzzis, spacious rooms, 30-meter room, dining kitchen very comfortable and current. A large porch to do 'siesta' , with a chill out. The house has a sufficient pool to cool off and enjoy on hot days and summer and all the year . Another great proche with barcacoa. There are three large tables, sofas on the terrace, in the dining room sofas, hammocks, etc. and all this only for 4 people maximum.

About Mariangels

Hello, my name is Mariangels, I am the daughter of the owner of the house. This house is originally from my grandfather, my mother was born here and my aunt. My grandfather Peter, was a farmer and this house was one of the most important in the area, with sheep, olives, etc.. Now my mother, a lover of art, decoration and tourism, remodelled the house, to make it more current. (We have made many reforms in 200 years).

Mariangels purchased this villa in 1900

What a special place!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing time at Eu Rafalet! We booked it for a 2 week family holiday and enjoyed every minute we were there. Surrounded by mountains, the view is incomparable and the secluded location makes you truly feel like you are 'away from it all'. The property was ideal for us (2 adults, 2 children). We particularly liked the outdoor kitchen and prepared most of our meals outside while the kids played in the pool. We made the most of the weekly market in Pollensa and did a few day trips to some stunning beaches -- but to be perfectly honest what we enjoyed most was relaxing in the sunshine and taking in the beautiful view. Mariangels and Tolo could not have been more helpful and they provided us with plenty of information about what to do in the area, as well as texts of special events happening in the area. I would definitely recommend this destination and hope to come back myself someday.

Fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Paradise in Pollensa. What a fantastic location. Mariangels was a great host. The villa was beautifully presented and looked just as it did in the pictures. We were after a rest and relaxation holiday and that is just what we got in this totally secluded and stunning location. Thank you Mariangels you were totally right when you said "this is a very special place" we look forward to returning to see you again. Jon & Sam

A little bit of paradise

  • 5 of 5

We revisited this beautiful spot, having stayed there many years ago before it was renovated and it didn't disappoint. Everything we needed was there - peace, privacy, beautiful surroundings, sunshine and stunning scenery... we felt as if we were staying in a high-class spa. Utter tranquillity yet within easy reach of Pollenca - just perfect. Thank you to the owners for making us so welcome and giving us a holiday we will never forget...

Stunning location with absolute privacy

  • 5 of 5

This was our first villa holiday away from a villa complex with the hustle and bustle which that provides, so we were a little nervous of venturing into new territory. However, as soon as we arrived at the top of the hill, at the last house at the end of a dead end road, we realised that this privacy and isolation was exactly what we had been looking for and we completely relaxed into our holiday straight away.

The villa is so picturesque in traditional Mallorcan style and so cool and comfortable inside. We spent the majority of our week outside in the numerous seating areas and in the gorgeous (clean) pool, and only went inside to sleep! The bedrooms are air conditioned and one in particular had the most amazing view over the valley!

We had not appreciated the villa's proximity to the beautiful Pollenca and enjoyed several evenings out in local restaurants, returning to our secluded villa for late night swims and to sit on the comfortable viewing platform to watch the sun disappear behind the hills.

I cannot emphasise the incredible views from this villa. All you see are hills and trees and the valley and lights from villas far off in the distance. You do not hear anything other than the sound of goats' bells and cicadas in the trees, there are no passing cars, no noisy neighbours, just you.

So, if you are after total peace and quiet and no disturbance in a beautiful traditional villa in stunning surroundings, this is one for you. If you prefer a bit more life around you whilst you soak up the sun then you will have to make do with the daily visits from wild goats who visited for a drink from the pool (whilst we were in it!).

On a practical note, the villa was as described, although I didn't find the washing machine until day 3 and there was no 'manual' on the villa or surroundings. For some reason I had expected wifi but there is not, but that was actually a blessing! The villa owners were always at the end of the phone if we needed help (in particular when there was a power cut one evening, we were rescued by the owners bearing torches at 9:00 at night!). Having read previous reviews, we made sure to take bin bags and dishwasher tabs, but cloths and washing up liquid were there when we arrived. We would have preferred more than one tea towel, but actually, who wants to spend their holiday drying up the dishes?!

Four big thumbs up from myself, my husband and our 7 and 8 year old children!

A very special house in the middle of the mountain. At night you can see the starry night with no light pollution. For lovers of astrology, amanates of nature, tranquility. You can spot hawks, wild goats, etc.

The most beautiful and picturesque area of Mallorca is the Pollenca region which has a unique charm and beauty, and is the ideal destination for quality, family villa holidays. Pollença Old Town is a peaceful and tranquil town that remains very typically Spanish. It is four miles from the coast, nestling between two hills at the eastern end of the Tramuntana mountains. Pollença itself is indisputably pretty. Historic buildings with ochre roofs, sun-baked walls and wooden shutters line the narrow and twisting medieval streets. There are pastel-painted houses in the centre and Moorish water mills on the outskirts. It's also a haven of sleepy Mallorcan traditions - café life and the siesta roll on here as they always have. The heart of the old town is the central square, Plaça Major, where there are many café-bars and fine restaurants. Pollença also has lots of galleries of Mallorcan art and design, and a town museum. The most famous walk in Pollença is up the 365 steps of the tree-lined 'Calvario' - the Calvari Hill. There is a tiny church at the top with amazing views over the town and across wooded valleys to the sea

Puerto Pollensa is host to long sandy beaches that curve around the bay and are divided by breakwaters and so are ideal for children. There are also a number of small, natural, sand and pebble beaches to explore. The atmosphere in Puerto Pollensa is relaxed with no loud discos or nightclubs, but a fine variety of open-air cafés, restaurants, boutiques and shops.

The countryside around Pollenca Old Town and Puerto Pollensa is amongst the most stunning and picturesque in the Mediterranean. Lush green dramatic valleys, litterered with grazing mountain goats and sheep and beautiful rural famrland hillsides dotted aournd picturesque monasterys and farms are the typical view from your garden here. The great advantage here is that you are only within 5-10 minutes drive of supermarkets, restaurants and bars of the old Town and Puerto ollensa shoudl you wish to drag yourself away. Choose one of our private villas or farmhouses here to appreciate this stunning location and be the envy of your friends.

Local knowledge

Taste: Pollença old town boasts some of the best restaurants on the island. From traditional Mallorcan to international cuisine, each has its own blend of atmosphere and tradition.

Weekly Market: It's especially lively in Pollença on market day, every Sunday morning, with stalls selling fruit, flowers, local crafts, clothes and household goods.

Discover: Pollença is nestled between two hills. One of these hills is Puig de Maria with an 18th-century monastery perched on the summit - a walk to the top is well worth the effort for spectacular views over Pollença and down to the sea.

Supermarkets: Large SYP/ Eroski Centre situated just off the main Pollença to Puerto Pollença, plus two in the town centre.

Cala San Vicente, another of the best-kept secrets in the North of Mallorca. It's a quiet and relaxed resort surrounded by mountains with pine-covered slopes that run down to the sea. The sparkling blue waters and the three sandy coves are very child-friendly. The spectacular countryside here is also ideal walking country, popular with ramblers and painters.

Bonaire is an exclusive residential area on the peninsula around the bay of Pollença towards Alcudia with a pretty marina called Puerto Cocodrilo and a lovely sandy beach called Mal Pas. Son Serra de Marina with its appealing marina and sandy beach is 8km from the larger resort of Ca'n Picafort which shares the same sweeping bay as Alcudia. Ca'n Picafort's lively but friendly and relaxed atmosphere is ideal for families and couples.

The regions of Pollença

ternelles valley: a lush green valley to the north of Pollença old town, and has a lane eventually running through to the ruined castle, Castell del Rei, high up in the mountains.

la font: an upmarket countryside residential area on the outskirts of Pollença old town within walking distance.

puig maria: the 18th•century monastery with its' tiny restaurant of 'our lady of the puig' dominates Pollença old town. The famous walk is well worth trying one morning or late afternoon.
