Lucca is located in a strategic position to visit Tuscany, both by car and by public transport.

The most famous villas of Lucca can be reached easily by car and represent the pearl of our territory (Torrigiani villa, Villa Grabau, Villa Mansi ...).

We are an Italian family who lives in Lucca. During the summer we spend time in our house in the countryside where we produce wine and oil. We love dogs and we own a jack Russell called Emma.
We love travelling and cycling.
Lavinia purchased this apartment in 2013

The property was great! We were met by Renata and her husband who made us welcome and answered any questions.
She had baked us a delicious Lemon Cake and left a bottle of her vinyard white wine 😋
All the detailsof the apartment were well thought out, and we loved it!!
This was probably my 10th VRBO over the years, and it stands out as one of the best!?!
Thank you so much Renata
Renate, Lavinia and Walter were very helpful answering all questions and solving minor problems! All beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and well equipped. I would give Appartmento Emma 10 stars if I was asked to do so... I love Italy and hope to return again someday.. I will definitely recommend Emma to all my friends!!!!! Tante Gracias
The apartment is very nicely decorated and well equipped for a longer stay ( we had 4 weeks).
Renata is an excellent hostess and made our stay very comfortable & enjoyable. They met us when we arrived, her husband carried all our heavy luggage up the many stairs to the apartment on the 3rd level.
Renata's home baked cakes, wine and bottled water were greatly appreciated welcome gifts. She made us aware of all that is in offer in Lucca and surrounding areas to explore. She also gave us great restaurant recommendations.
The location is very handy to the train, bus, car park, and of course the walled city. Given this great location, the apartment is on a main road and so there is quite a lot of noise but this didn't bother us too much.
We would highly recommend this apartment.
The apartment was lovely with comfortable beds, two new bathrooms and very good air con. Renata kindly met us at the apartment and gave us lots of information and maps. It is an 8 minute walk to the bus terminal, (we caught the Lucca bus from Pisa airport), and a short walk from the train station, from where you can travel to the coast, (20 minutes to Viareggio). We loved Lucca, with its ancient city walls which you can walk or cycle the whole way round on a tree lined drive. The apartment , (top floor of an old building), is opposite the walls, so an easy walk to explore the city and visit the historic buildings, old winding streets, piazzas, botanic garden, cafes, restaurants, and of course gelaterias!
Thank you Renata and Lavinia for a lovely stay.
Would come back again Lavinia and mum told us all the ins and the outs where to go and were not to .the only thing was the stairs not a problem for us but could be
We have just returned from a wonderful week staying in this lovely apartment on the outskirts of the walled town of Lucca. We were met by the Owner's Mother, Renata, who couldn't have been more welcoming. Renata showed us round the apartment and gave us a wealth of information about local restaurants, shops and activities in the area. She also left for us a lovely bottle of wine from the family vineyard and a homemade apple tart which was simply delicious! Nothing was too much trouble - she lives close by and we knew that if we had any problems (which we didn!t), that she would be readily able to help.
The apartment itself was very clean, spacious and tastefully decorated with air conditioning and a washing machine that all worked without a hitch. The kitchen was very well equipped and the two bathrooms were furnished to a high standard. The beds were lovely and comfortable. The apartment also has wifi and the signal was always strong. It is situated within walking distance of a good supermarket.
The apartment is situated approximately 2 minutes from the town walls making access to the delightful town of Lucca very easy. We loved exploring the different, and sometimes hidden, entrances to the town exploring the tunnels into the town itself. Lucca has a very relaxed feel to it. The people are very friendly in the restaurants and shops and the food was just delicious! We hired bikes at a very reasonable price and cycled the town walls and through the streets which was great fun with our 2 boys (age 10 and 13). There was lots to keep us occupied in the town itself - stunning views from the top of the clock tower if you are not worried about heights!
We hired a car and so were able to explore the area too around Lucca. Within half an hour you can be on the roads into the mountains enjoying the beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside.
I would definitely recommend this apartment as a lovely base to explore Lucca and the surrounding area. We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing the lovely Renata (and her little dog Emma!) again soon!
