Wonderful apartment centrally located!
The apartment is spacious and comfortable. Perfect location near a taxi rank and a huge landmark in case you forget the address! Short walk to the grocery store and a lot of restaurants. All the main sites in Rome are within a 20min walk. Can't say enough great things about the apartment.
Thank you very much! I am happy that you enjoyed your stay!
This is a lovely house in a great location, centrally located within 15-20 minutes of all the main attractions. Just steps away are many little stores and restaurants. The check-in process was awesome and we were even able to check in a little early. The house itself is as pictured on the website, however, it is laid out a little strangely - two of the bedrooms are in the front of the house and not at all near the bathrooms, which are all towards the back of the house. Note that there are about 40 steps to reach the house, which is typical for older buildings in Italy. The WiFi was spotty and only worked in certain parts of the house, but hopefully you will be out exploring the city and not surfing the web. These things weren't a big deal for us, but it is something of which you should be aware. I would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend for your next (or first) trip to Roma!
Location location location!
This was my second time staying at this apartment. It is beautiful. More important, is the location. You can walk to most places from here. Steps from the Sant Angelo Bridge. Easy walk to St Peters, and very close to Piazza Navona. Jennifer is easy to work with, and very responsive to emails. She even set up transportation to the airport for us. I highly recommend.
Wonderful location and quality
Beautiful apartment with detailed woodwork on floors and doors. Great shopping nearby and easily accessible to all tourist sites. Jennifer was very helpful arranging transfer to and from airport. Great value.
Beautifully appointed apartment in unbeatable location
Four adults and two school age kids fit extremely comfortably in this excellent apartment that is beautifully decorated. It is directly across the river from Castel Sant'Angelo, 15 min stroll to Vatican, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona etc. Marble wall finishes, inlay wood floors and trims, coffered ceilings - it is literally luxurious. Large living room with a huge daybed that would sleep two more if required. Not every bedroom has an air conditioning unit, but despite the temperatures during our stay averaging 36 degrees Celsius, leaving the bedroom door partially open allowed enough cool air to enter from the rest of the space for comfortable sleep. If you are used to sleeping in fully air conditioned rooms, this might be too warm for you. We don't have a/c at home where muggy summers are over 30 degrees, so it didn't bother us at all. One room has ensuite full bath (tub) , and there are two shared baths with shower. Kitchen has full compliment of dishes and utensils, with gas cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, tiny washing machine, drying rack, ironing board/iron. Those of you unused to European gas cooktop - works just like a BBQ. Turn on gas supply with wall mounted valve, turn burner knob for gas, light it with a match (the ignitors don't work). There is only a small Sigma convenience store close by, so plan to return to the apartment via a grocery store or market if you want to cook meals. I found the immediately adjacent restaurants mediocre, but good meals and coffee can be had within a 10-15 minute walk. Wifi is fast, but you need to be in the kitchen or dining room due to thickness of the interior walls. This apartment is not accessible (no elevator) so you will be carrying your luggage one floor above ground level. My elderly mother-in-law had some difficulty, as there are stairs within the apartment, and shower in the main shared bath has a knee high curb. The ensuite bath has combined shower/tub, again requiring hip mobility.
Jennifer arranged transport to and from the airport for us, and we were met at the apartment by her friendly cousin Alessandro. We did not meet Jennifer in person, but she was a wonderful host, responding quickly to every text I sent her. I most definitely would stay here again if travelling with a large group.
Hope the owner will put a little more effort into this apartment---
The good - location is close to Castel Sant'Angelo, the Vaticana. Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps are 20 - 25 minutes walk. Apartment very quiet if you close all windows and turn on air conditioning. Dishwasher works well. Washer works good but takes 4 hours for a load. Drying rack, iron, ironing board - all provided and in good working conditions. Utensils are all adequate. Wifi works well.
The not so good - We could not turn on the gas stove to cook (no matches or butane lighter was provided), we were just using microwave to make pouch eggs, heat up the ham slices and cups of hot water for coffee. The electric kettle needs a deep cleaning with vinegar and baking soda. The other coffee maker has same problem in water storage compartment. The toaster is not automatic you need to watch it and turn it off. The hair dryer that was in the apartment when we were there will cinch your hair - check it out before u use it! Not enough towel hooks for 8 towels so use hangers with name tacks to hang them on keys for the numerous cabinets in the hallways. Wish they had provided an extra set of bath towels for 6 nights stay. Only 2 shutters can be closed. The ensuite bath and wash basin are clogged up, we used flash light to check and is full of hair. The very inconvenient bathroom at the end of the long hallway has one door panel missing so you will have water all over the floor and be careful not to slip when stepping out the shower otherwise the drain works well. Many light bulbs were not working so we move them around to the lamps we need to use. Only 1 big trash bag is provided in the kitchen .. . Suggest 3 smaller trash bin labeled paper, plastic and trash so it will be easier for us to take to the neighborhood trash collection bins. Written instructions for general use of washing machine, oven, microwave and cook top should be provided. I did texted Jennifer for how to turn on the gas stove but didn't get a reply. TV does not work!
