The area was used as a residential base for several illustrious residents e.g. Charles Dickens, Noel Gallagher, Edward Lear, Madonna and Guy Ritchie, The Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix (at 43 Upper Berkeley Street).

A Nicely Located Flat

The flat is located near the Marble Arch Underground and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The pubs, bakery and other restaurants nearby are great. We needed a two bathroom place and chose this one after another fell through. It is clean and nicely presented. The second bathroom is very narrow so our very big, tall friend could not really use it. We could not control the temperature in the unit or get the towel racks to work so that our big towels would dry over our 5 night stay. You do hear the trains but that is likely true of most London flats. All in all, it was a great stay but could have been better with more information.

Perfect Location

We had a great two week stay in London. This flat was perfect to walk to various locations. There were plenty of grocery stores, pubs and restaurants in the area. This property was clean. It was a very easy check in which was great after a long flight. We would rent here again.

Great location/size for family of 4 visiting London

Why stay in a small hotel room with 2 teens when you can spread out in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom flat for a fraction of the cost? We have rented via VRBO several times before, but never in Europe so I wasn't sure what service/quality to expect. From the time of our original booking, Melissa was responsive and helpful answering all of our questions. She also met us as soon as we arrived in London at noon (no waiting for a standard 4pm check in time). This was a great base for our family of 4 for a week of sight seeing around London. Full kitchen if you want to eat in, but walking distance to plenty of places to eat. Gail's Bakery around the corner was our first stop every morning - not to be missed! Very short walk to the Marble Arch tube stop and restaurants on Baker Street too. Professionally managed and very nice property. If you have any mobility issues, it would be difficult for you to navigate the spiral staircase down to the flat, but otherwise it is a great accommodation.

Excellent location, but you do pay for it.

The pros - excellent central London location, on a fairly quiet street, two blocks from Marble Arch tube and Hyde Park. Great to have the living-room/kitchen and all appliances worked well including laundry. There's a middle eastern green grocer 1.5 blocks south that offers three different daily specials at five pounds per servicing - so a great option with the kitchen if you are tired of restaurants.

The cons - the hall bathroom is very tight and when we were there its sink drained slowly, the fan didn't work and the shower temperature was stuck on scalding hot. While the sink was fixed quickly, it took five days and repeat calls to get the shower temperature control fixed - something that should have been taken care of much quicker. As well, the unit is a bit musty and the half dozen plug in air fresheners made me wonder if there is a bit of a mildew issue. Overall I would consider it in the future, but didn't think it was a steal by any stretch (given the bathroom issues) compared to other available option - hence my 3/5 rating.

Awesome flat!

Perfect location. Short walk to busses and tube station. Beautiful flat. Clean, quiet, comfortable with all conveniences. Being downstairs was fun. Windows and doors let in much light and air ( when opened). The local pub, The Portman, was fun and delicious! Many choices for eating, shopping near by. Thank you!

Fabulous location!

Flat was extremely comfortable and superbly located close to Marble Arch station as well as some great pubs, bakeries, and restaurants. Melissa was very prompt in her responses always and they were very flexible with us. Would definitely stay here again.
