About the property

Panoramic Views Yet Only 400 Metres From The Beach, Bars And Restaurants

The large private infinity pool (protected by a child-proof fence) overlooks the sea and leads onto a terrace that provides the most spectacular views in Mojacar - in an arc of about 210 degrees the Mediterranean fills around 90 degrees, the town another 90 degrees and the mountains the remainder; Garucha and more can be seen in the distance. There are a large range of sunbeds, sofas, tables and a BBQ for al fresco dining. The house has another terrace, a balcony and a solarium, one or the other of which will provide day long sunshine at all times of the year. The lounge/diner leads out onto a terrace. The house has air-conditioning / heating throughout. Three of the bedrooms are doubles and en suite and lead either directly onto the veranda or a balcony. The 4th bedroom has twin beds and a cot with a WC and basin in the adjacent room.

There is a Sky Box system installed so if you wish to bring your own Sky Card the channels that you have at home will be received - if there is no card installed, then normal free view TV will be received showing most of the UK terrestrial channels as well as Spanish terrestrial TV.

The villa has free Wi-Fi.

About Chris Parry

The photo is of me and my daughter a little while ago but it's the most recent one I have of me - sorry.

I bought the villa in 2010 and have changed it a lot, the work was carried out by a company of Spanish builders to a very high standard - the Town Council are strict and I had to have two architects; I hope you like the work. I love Mojacar and go there as often as my work in Abu Dhabi permits me to. I will retire in a year's time and will live in the villa most of the year from then on. In the meantime please enjoy it and the views which are spectacular.

For your information: Home & Away have added a Service Fee to all bookings, and this is beyond my control; however I have reduced my fees, which haven't risen for at least 3 years, by 5% to absorb most of the additional costs.

Chris Parry purchased this villa in 2010

Why Chris Parry chose Mojácar

Mojacar was recommended to me by my very good friends who have had a property there for five years - they said that the town would suit me as it had a good selection of restaurants, bars, shopping and other attractions that I would like, and they were right.

I have lived in the Middle East for a long time so I wanted a home that had the sun and a good life-style. My main requirement was for a sea view but I didn't think it would be possible for me to get such a good one. I think Mojacar is great and I am looking forward to living there full time when I retire

What makes this villa unique

Quite simply, the views are absolutely stunning and you can hear the waves when you sit on the terrace or either of the balconies; it very relaxing sitting in the easy chairs on the terrace with a glass of something nice listening to the waves lapping against the shore.

The property is very convenient for everything, the sea, shops, bars and restaurants - I can walk everywhere if I want to.

I like to read and I enjoy sitting on the 'Romeo and Juliet' balcony reading a good book, taking in the views with a glass of something nice.

A pool party with a BBQ on the veranda with friends is also a great way to spend a day / evening - when my family was there in august there were 15 of us in the pool, and it wasn't crowded.

Great villa with fantastic views.

  • 4 of 5

Great location, walk back up a little challenging but views more than make up for it.

Pool is lovely and suited us well.

Could maybe leave a small welcome pack with some basics in, this is the first villa we have used that didn't do this.

Owner's Response: Dear Sam, Thank you very much for writing a review of your holiday in my villa, it is good of you to take the time to write and allows me to improve where possible. I am sorry that you didn’t receive a welcome pack but Chris thought that, as you had arrived in the afternoon when shops were still open, that a pack wasn’t necessary. We have agreed to change our procedures and a welcome pack will be provided for all guests in the future irrespective of what time they arrive. I hope this didn’t affect the enjoyment of your holiday and once again I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you and regards, Chris

Stunning Villa! Well equipped & beautifully presented!

  • 5 of 5

I really can't say enough good things about this Villa. The other reviewers are correct, it is beautifully presented, a real home form home, everything little thing has been provided and we wanted for nothing during our stay. The views are breathtaking from every room in the villa and the pool is a delight. It was scrupulously clean with plenty of loungers for everyone. The Villa had good quality linens and towels and the air-conditioning was excellent, although with the lovely breeze up there we only needed it during the night for the bedrooms. We loved the area and the laid back atmosphere in Mojacar. We spent our mornings at the villa and almost every afternoon at the beach, enjoying swimming and relaxing at the sunbeds where there was table service if you wanted tapas or drinks. Early evenings were spent listening to live music at one of the numerous pretty beach bars and restaurants, eating delicious Mediterranean food and later on strolling along the promenade. I highly recommend Tito's Cantina which does gorgeous fresh Mexican food as well as the standard menu in the main bar. The staff there were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and service with a warm smile every time. As other reviewers have stated the villa is on a steep hill so be mindful if you have members of your party who find walking uphill difficult, we hired a car and had no issues, enjoying the best of both worlds, the beautiful views and not having to walk back up the hill! I highly recommend the Paella at Magnifique, it was the best I have ever had, light and tasty with lots of fresh ingredients and Shellfish. If you are up early enough the sunrise is fabulous, I woke early one morning and walked out onto the balcony just as it was rising, just stunning! Christine was lovely and on hand to answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend spending time here - you will not regret it!

WOW a sensational place and well kitted out

  • 5 of 5

On arrival you enter a fantastic living room with views to die for. On your right is a fully fitted and well stocked kitchen diner with a big table and chairs heading to a perfect veranda that we all used for morning coffee. Back through the large living room to a double bedroom with ensuite. This bedroom has a Juliette balcony overlooking the pool. Down the stairs (that have good handrails) to the first of 2 more double rooms and a triple. The first double room has the full bath with a separate walk in shower and direct access to the veranda, then you have the triple room and a laundry room that has a WC and sink and the washing machine. On down the hall to the second double room with a large corner bath separate walk in shower this also has direct access to the enormous veranda. We could lie in bed and listen to the sound of the waves from the beach and in the evening, sit out on the comfy furniture taking in the views over the beach and round to the hills. This veranda leads to the infinity pool which is super, well maintained and has loads of room. The last week in May was lovely and warm (ave. 25 deg) and we did use the pool everyday but it certainly woke you up getting in. (A bit of heat in the pool would have been good but we braved the first minute of – let’s say ‘fresh cool water’ and it then warmed enough to really enjoy it). We did walk from the villa to the beach and back sometimes but found the car made it a big easier particularly when you had shopping so a car is recommended. We hardly used the aircon (but it all worked brilliantly in the bedrooms and the living/dining/kitchen) as the villa has windows all round and made for a lovely fresh breeze. Chris made the booking process so smooth and hassle free we just sailed through and had the most wonderful time. Mojacar Playa has beautiful beaches and bars/restaurants and everyone we went into we called it our favourite. We did spend a lot of time in the Irish Rover, great food & staff, we had a few in the Emerald Isle, had fantastic meals in both Kukis and the Argentinian Steak House. We went up to Mojacar Pueblo and saw a completely different area all built up into the Hill and we can recommend the wee museum (Museo "Casa de la Canana") showing how an old house has been renovated sympathetically to reflect all the stages of how parts have been added by the generations.

We can’t thank Chris enough for allowing us the use of his villa and can recommend it to anyone. See you soon x

Owner's Response: Dear Patricia, Thank you very much indeed for your wonderful review of my villa, it is very kind of you to take the trouble to write it and I appreciate it a lot. I try to provide a good level of comfort at a good value and it is very satisfying to receive such a lovely review. I am greatly in debt to Christine, the lady who manages the property, and Volta, who maintains the property, for the hard work they put in and without whom it would very hard to maintain such standards. Thank you again Patricia for your review. Kind Regards, Chris

Excellent villa.

  • 5 of 5

We cannot find any reason why this villa does not deserve the full 5 stars. There is always a trade off in life - Yes, there is a very steep hill to the property but without the hill there would be no views and they are stunning. The property is clean, well appointed and has every convenience you could need. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms all functioning, the kitchen well equipped and the decor interesting and contemporary. It does not feel like a rented villa, it feels like a home that is cared for and loved.

We were early in the year and so the temperatures were not warm enough for the pool to really come into its own but it looked so sparkling blue and inviting. (Totally risking hypothermia I could not resist a dip - it was there!!) The pictures are not a lie - it is beguiling!!

I have never before found a villa that was good enough for me to want to book the same one again but this was has broken that record. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I return to Mojacar.

You do need to be fit enough to walk on a slope and manage the stairs in the villa but if you have a car and a driver who is not nervous of the hill and steep parking then this villa could suit anyone. We didn't walk "Cardiac Hill" as it became known but we are unfit and lazy and needed the energy for raising our Sangria glasses. It was not an issue.

Many thanks to Chris for letting us stay in his lovely villa. Communication is excellent with him and his supporting lady in Mojacar was also very good at responding and communicating re arrangements for keys or answering questions.

This villa is highly recommended. (Please don't all book when I want to go again!)

Owner's Response: Dear Alan, I am really bowled over by your review and it is very nice of you to take the time and trouble to write it; when I receive a review like this I am very touched and it does make all the effort and investment worthwhile. I was in the villa immediately before you stayed there, and spent a few weeks adding pictures to various rooms and for you to call them contemporary is fantastic and shows that there might be life in the old dog yet. I take your point about the hill but the views are the payoff for the effort involved. I usually leave my car at the bottom of the hill and drive up at the end of the evening and have a nightcap on a balcony listening to the waves rolling on the beach just 400 metres away. Thank you once again for a great review, and if you are able to come again, I do offer a discount to returning guests. All the best, Chris

Great villa with fantastic views

Great villa and was greeted and guided in on arrival which we greatly appreciated. The views from the villa were outstanding, it was a shame it was too cold to use the pool ! Villa was comfortable and we were able to heat it on cool evenings. A great stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Maureen, Thank you very much for taking the time to review my property and I appreciate your very nice comments. I hope the pool wasn't too imuch of an inconvenience to you but not many pools in Spain are heated; in fact when I had the pool put into the villa I asked the builder how the pool was going to be heated and he just pointed to the sun! 😀 At some time in the future I will be putting some solar panels in to try to raise the pool's temperature a little outside of the summer months. Thank you again for the review. Regards, Chris

These sites have interesting information about Mojacar:

Mojacar is a tranquil resort that is a firm favourite with families and couples looking to enjoy a relaxed Spanish atmosphere and plenty of modern facilities. Mojacar Pueblo is an enchanting hilltop village of white washed stone houses that rise above the modern beachside (Playa) resort. The village is heavily influenced by past and present artists, and the winding little streets, art galleries and traditional tavernas still exude a Bohemian atmosphere. The beach at Mojacar is a 7Km stretch of golden sand and is actually many different beaches; Mojacar beach itself has been awarded the European Blue Flag status.

Although Mojacar is the place for relaxation there are plenty of watersports activities including scuba diving and windsurfing. There is also a nearby golf course or why not try horse riding through the spectacular Sierra Nevada National Park. Mojacar features plenty of bars and restaurants and can be a lively place during the summer evenings.
