Our two bedroom self-catering chalet sits on the 13 acre Widemouth Bay Holiday near Bude. It makes the ideal base to explore Widemouth and other nearby beaches with their superb waves, sand, rock pools and more. We stayed here for the first time in summer 2016 and loved it so much we bought it. We now rent it out when we are not using it ourselves.
The chalet has two bedrooms. One with the a double bed, the other with bunk beds. All beds have comfortable mattresses and high quality linen is provided along with towels. The new bathroom has a bath and powerful shower with on demand hot water. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with hob, oven, toaster, kettle, coffee filter machine, fridge and microwave. The lounge is perfect for relaxing with a wide screen smart TV for those rainy days. The newly installed insulation and gas central heating combined with double glazed windows mean you're comfortable whatever the weather.
The holiday village complex itself contains a reception with a shop for essentials, an indoor swimming pool with bubble pool and sauna, outdoor sunbathing area, laundrette, amusement arcade, tennis court, play area for children, golf putting green, and a bar with entertainment and Sky Sports looking out over Widemouth Bay. Our guests are welcome to use all the facilities or explore further afield as you like. Please note the complex amenities are only available between April and September.
The area is world-renowned for surfing. Quality lessons and equipment are readily available for those wanting to get into this amazing sport. The spectacular South West Coast path is 10 minutes' walk away for hikers wishing to break their journey. While great local produce is available for those who like their food in nearby shops, restaurants and pubs.
Interaction with guests
The chalet is our holiday home and we live two hours drive south east in Somerset. This means we unfortunately are unlikely to meet you during your stay though I will always be available by email and phone. The key is available from a coded key box. We'll give you the code just before your stay. Ian and Deana in reception will be able to help you with queries about the holiday village and local area. Then we have some great local people who can help with anything at the chalet itself. You will be well looked after.
Other things to note
There is a cot and a high chair in the chalet for those with small children. Please just let us know if you would like us to put these out for you.
There are various local buses but sadly no trains since 1966. The chalet is also very close to the spectacular South West coast path.
