Overview

About the property

Private secluded house on 15 acres, Rock Canyon, Highway 89 in Southern Utah.

Central to everything in Southern Utah: Bryce Canyon (30 min), Zion National Park (60 min), Red Canyon (8 min), Kodachrome Basin (50 min). You’ll love staying here because of the spectacular 360˚ views on a private 15 acre property. You'll have the entire canyon and ATV/Hiking trails to yourself to explore, rock hunters will love the abundance of agate rocks around the property. Conveniently and easily accessible right off of Hwy 89. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families.

Property is OFF-GRID, that means it is not connected to the electric grid. Power comes from a top of the line energy efficient Honda generator and a 500 gallon propane tank. Refrigerator is 100% propane powered and does not need electricity to keep your food cold or frozen. There is a furnace for heat and the cabin is very well insulated during colder months, no worries you will be warm. There is NO air conditioning however day/night temperatures change by 30 to 40 degrees so usually it is cool enough to sleep comfortably during the summer months.

The cabin has an awesome open floor plan between the kitchen and living room, great for cooking and hanging out in the living room with friends and family. Bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the house providing privacy for multiple couples and families.

ATV/hiking trails up into Rock Canyon can be accessed directly through the backside of the cabin. Note these trails are not accessible other than through this property, there is no pass through traffic. Bring your dog(s) off leash walking trails all around the property. Grab your fishing poles and walk to a secret tunnel that goes under Hwy 89 and go trout fishing in the Sevier river.

Cleaning Service Living Wage: We pay our cleaners fairly. A living wage is the minimum income necessary for someone to meet their basic needs. We recognize our cleaners provide essential support and provide excellent and dependable hospitality to guests. When cleaners are paid a living wage, they’re better able to: support themselves and their family, perform consistent high-quality work, and take time off to care for themselves or a family member.

About Brant Wojack

Aloha, I currently live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu with my wife and two children. Professionally I'm a software programmer but when I'm off work I enjoy going to the beach (kite-boarding) and coaching soccer. I'm into anything sports related and love being outdoors. The thing I miss most about living in Hawaii is skiing and snowboarding.

Why Brant Wojack chose Panguitch

We bought this 15 acre property located in Rock Canyon, Southern Utah as a second home and because we love this area. This place is surrounded by some of the most amazing national parks in the world. Utah is totally different from Hawaii and there are so many fun things to do here like mountain biking, ATV riding, and trail hiking. This is our get away from the islands and Honolulu.

What makes this cabin unique

Hatch (4 miles South) and Panguitch (7 miles North) are the closet towns. Both offer great places to eat and some unique shopping stores. My favorite place to eat in Hatch is Cafe Adobe. Panguitch has several places I like to eat at, C-Stop Pizza, Cowboys Smokehouse, and the Flying M has a great breakfast menu. Note many local businesses are closed on Sundays and many restaurants close before 9pm. Major retail stores like Walmart are located in Cedar City or Richfield about 1 hour away.

You will need a car, there is no public transportation. Property is accessed directly off of Hwy. 89 (note speed limit is 65 mph). Recommend your first night to arrive before nightfall. Hwy 89 is very dark, a lot of guests end up driving past the house driveway entrance several times before they find it, it's much easier to find in daylight. Once you know where the house is getting here after dark won't be a problem. My house in Rock Canyon is located 3 miles South of the intersection of Hwy 89 and Hwy 12 Utah.

Great cabin in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 nights in the cabin at the start of October and could not have loved it more. The cabin itself was comfortable, clean and well equipped for cooking and the generator was really easy to use. The location is awesome - you are isolated in the beautiful Utah countryside despite being only 25 minutes drive to Bryce Canyon. We also really enjoyed off roading in Brant's ATV to explore the rest of the property.

NOTE my place is "off grid" which means it is not connected to the electrical grid. If you need a constant stream of electricity for medical devices or personal comforts like air conditioning and electronics then my place is probably not the best fit for you. There is NO air conditioning however day/night temperatures change between 30 and 40 degrees so usually it's cool enough at night to sleep comfortably but there's no guarantee. During colder months the cabin is quickly heated by a propane furnace and is very well insulated staying warm for hours after the heat is turned off.
