Waterside Cottage offers lovely views of the mountains and Lake Chatuge - Enjoy the amazing landscape from your upstairs balcony, from a rocking chair on your front porch, or from the front lawn enjoying a picnic on the table.
The home is close to town, quaint shops, restaurants and vineyards and is the perfect retreat for small families, seniors, and couples. Sorry, we do not accept requests from parties or groups. We are pet friendly with a two dog maximum for small to medium sized breeds. We do require a $150 pet fee for your fur baby to accompany you and they must be approved in advance.
Surrounded by the lake and mountains, this home faces Lake Chatuge, known for its clean waters. Lake Chatuge is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing and water sports.
Close to hiking trails, waterfalls, antique malls, boutiques, golf, and fine and casual dining, there really is something for everyone to enjoy. We are also very close to two marinas and it’s a real treat to rent a boat and cruise the lake.
Within walking distance to the town of Hiawassee, in a lakeside neighborhood with no steep mountain roads, Waterside Cottage is located on a paved road with gentle terrain. It is not remote and there are neighbors close by. It is approximately one mile to HWY 76, a main road that takes you to the entire surrounding area.
Watch the sunset over the lake and roast marshmallows around the firepit while the kids catch fireflies. Enjoy the picturesque views from the front porch and balcony or take a relaxing dip in hot tub. Or, have a night in watching Netflix from your comfortable living room with a bowl of popcorn!
Waterside Cottage offers the use of our Boat Shed which contains 4 kayaks, bicycles, and most often rafts and fishing gear for added family fun.
There is a preserve area out the front gate and across the quiet road for access to the lake. The water front is a gradual slope where you can wade out or stay close to shore. The front porch or lakefront is the perfect place to watch the the boats go by, enjoy a good book or relax in the sun.
THERE IS NOT A BOAT DOCK ASSOCIATED WITH WATERSIDE COTTAGE, however, there are boat launches nearby and space on the property to park a boat if desired.
The master bedroom is upstairs with a king sized bed, TV, and a spacious balcony with great views. Also upstairs is the guest bedroom with two twin beds and trundles underneath.

There is one bathroom downstairs with a tub/shower and commode.
