The moment I walked into Twine Cottage I fell in love with it - it feels a little like going back in time yet with all the modern amenities. Quiet, pretty and in one of the loveliest Cotswold villages - it offers all you could want for a perfect holiday

What makes this cottage unique

The thatched roof is unique to the cottage and the original wooden beams and doors make staying here a very special experience

Heaven in the Cotwolds

  • 5 of 5

I spent four weeks at Twine Cottage in what could be best describe as adverse weather conditions - snow and cold pretty much every day. Despite this, I had the most fabulous four weeks in large part due to Twine Cottage and the town of Chipping Camden. The cottage is exactly as Rosie describes it - cozy and charming with beautiful detail but nicely updated. I experienced the little garden patio in the snow and then just as I left, with the flowers and greenery just emergin. It was truly lovely. Chipping Camden, in my view, is the most perfect of all the Cotswold villages. It is absolutely beautiful but not touristy - a true town with shops, tea shops, a library, bakery, butcher. You feel as though you are living the life of those who are fortunate to call this town their home. It is also incredibly well situated so that you can easily visit all the towns and villages in Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and to even go north to Stratford on Avon. It is absolutely idyllic and I would highly, highly recommend Twine Cottage and Chipping Camden.

Charming Cottage

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Twine Cottage. The cottage has every amenity you could want and also has a beautiful front flower garden. The location is good for making day trips out to the many attractions in the Cotswolds but the town itself is charming as well. There are lots of good restaurants nearby. I would definitely return.

Perfect stay in a perfect cottage

  • 5 of 5

Rosie's cottage is a perfect retreat for a couple staying in Chipping Camden. The house is charming, cozy, and even has a private garden to enjoy in nice weather. The cottage is located just a five minute walk from the High Street in Chipping Camden, a beautiful Cotswold town that is centrally located. The house is stocked with all the necessary items and parking is easy. I would highly recommend this beautiful cottage!

Ideal location

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cosy cottage, would reccommend Twine cottage if you want a traditional thatched experience. The cottage is in a perfect location if you want to explore the surrounding areas, it's central to explore other areas of the Cotswolds and minutes walk from restaurants and bars, but still retains its charming and peaceful ambience. A beautiful village, Chipping Campden is one of the prettiest places you could visit. My partner and I loved our stay.

Period Charm with Modern Amenities

  • 5 of 5

You feel you have just stepped into a Thomas Hardy novel ( OK it isn't the imaginary Wessex but bear with me ); with all the amenities including tv, wi-fi and a powerful hair dryer. Romantic without being too precious and in the loveliest town imaginable. Everyone friendly, great food, and walks to walk where the wind blows and the sheep meander. I can't picture a more perfect spot. Indeed, far away from the madding crowd.

Location

Car: not necessary

The Cotswolds is charming all year round and visiting the Cotswolds is a wonderful experience. Officially the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England, it isn’t hard to understand why the Cotswolds is known and loved by the English and foreign travellers alike.

Many come to the Cotswolds for the wonderful country walks, cycling along the highways and byways, exploring the wonderfully unique boutiques, each charming town and village have to offer and relaxing with a fabulous cream tea or sitting in front of an open fire at the end of the day.

Spring is a wonderful time to see the lambs and bluebell woods. The many unique Cotswold Cottage Gardens and country houses are a great way to enjoy the lighter summer evenings, whereas Westonbirt and Batsford Arboretum comes alive with its vast array of stunning leaf displays in autumn. And the Christmas markets are a wonderful way to start the festive season. Really, the Cotswolds has something for everyone of all ages and all tastes.

Twine Cottage is also within easy access to other quaint Cotswold villages such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton on the Water and Broadway and National Trust properties of Hidcote and Snowshill Manor and the larger towns of Stratford Upon Avon, Morton in Marsh and Cheltenham.

For walkers, the Cotswold Way starts in Chipping Campden.
