Exclusive, luxurious, sunny apartment (135 m2) in the centre of Barcelona, which has just been fully refurbished. Comfortable for groups of up to 6 guests, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living room and kitchen, and a sunny terrace.

The apartment is located on Avinguda Diagonal 405, between Balmes and Rambla de Catalunya, just a few minutes away from Passeig de Gracia - where some of the most emblematic Modernist architectural works, such as Gaudi's Casa Milà (“La Pedrera”) and Casa Batlló, can be found. The neighbourhood is lively, offering a great choice of of restaurants and bars covering an extensive range of cuisine styles and prices, shops and entertainment.

Many of the best BCN Restaurants are within walking distance: Lasarte 2*, Moments 2*, Roca Moo 1*, Cinc Sentits 1*, Gaig 1*, Hisop 1*, Angle 1*, Loidi, Fermí Puig, Windsor, Galaxó, Petit Comité, Murmuri, Roig Robí, Alma, The Mirror...(Stars given according Michelin Guide)

It provides a perfect base to visit and explore the city, ideally connected with buses stopping right in front of the building (including Barcelona City Tours buses) and an underground station (Metro Diagonal) a 5-minute walk away. Metro Diagonal station is two stops away from Pl. Catalunya (the top end of Les Rambles, marking the start of the old city quarter), three stops away from Liceu (the stop for Opera House and for the popular food market of La Boqueria), four stops away from Drassanes (the bottom end of Les Rambles, next to the sea), and seven stops (14 minutes) to Plaça Espanya (where the Fira de Barcelona, the main venue for fairs and congresses of the city, is located, at the base of Montjuïc).

The apartment is part of a listed building named “Casa Eduardo Puig” (after the Spanish tycoon that build it for him and his family in the beginning of the 20th century; Mr Puig occupied the first floor, and his children the remaining five floors). The apartment we are offering is located on the 4rth floor, overlooking the neighbourhood; we also have a 65m2, one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of same building available for rental. The whole building was renovated around the year 2000, when it was converted to a luxury apartment block, and features a spacious entrance hall with the original old-fashioned lift (which has been restored), complemented with a modern, high-capacity, faster lift. There is a concierge in the building Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, who can collect any deliveries while you are away.

Mandatory Non-smoking indoors (smokers may use the terrace provided that they close the terrace doors behind to prevent the smoke from entering the flat).

No pets allowed (in consideration to potential customers with allergies).

Great location. We enjoyed walking to all the key spots like gaudi casa's, familia and even to citadel park. Many great bakeries very close too. Door man was afraid of people though!

Excellent Barcelona location

The apartment is on the fourth floor of an apartment building on busy street in Eixample area of Barcelona. The location is excellent to walk to many of the sites and very close to the subway. The apt. was excellent for two couples. The third bedroom would be small for another couple but ok for children. The apt. is sparsely furnished but very clean and meets all your needs with small kitchen, use of laundry within the apt. and lovely dining area.

The owner has excellent customer service with fast responses to emails when booking, accommodating our suitcases with our early arrival and late departure and providing good information about the area. I would certainly book again!

Very nice, but Without A/C, Very Hot.

I have struggled, and waited a little bit to write this review, in order to be as fair and honest as possible.

Firstly. Arrangements for rental were quite seamless and Eduardo was very good in assisting me with transportation to and from airport.

On arrival, Eduardo was not able to meet, but did have a person meet us on time at apartment and though she did not speak English, she was helpful and able to convey mist things I needed to understand.

Apartment was clean, well located and beyond easy to locate on a major thouroghfare about one block from Metro.

Three bedrooms - two rather small, but two reasonably sized and very modern and clean bathrooms.

Kitchen smallish but nice, including a washer dryer. Large and ample refrigerator - which is not common in my experience in Europe.

One of my concerns was walking distance to harbor and other areas of interest, however, after first day we figured out (hint: use Googke Maps) the metro system, and used it several times to get to harbor area, Sagrada Familia and at the end of the day, the location was felt to be perfect - nice, newer upscale area of Barcelona, with easy quick access to older more touristy areas by metro.

So. Why only two stars? Less than "good"? This is the difficult part. When we arrived the power was out. A breaker had gone off. We figured it out within minutes, however, the air conditioning never engaged. The apartment has large, beautiful Windows but Barcelona in September is warm, and these windows heat up apartment in a hurry. When we contacted Eduardo, for a couple of days, there was a suggestion that we weren't operating A/C controls properly. Finally, Eduardo sent a handyman to apartment - while we were out - and problem could not be fixed.

So. By now it's Sunday and no parts availability. So, 2nd last day air conditioning finally fixed.. Until then 30 degrees at night, no fan, fitful sleeping in living room on couch to keep cool.. While I understand things happen, this put a great damper on a possible one-tine experience.

Response was apologetic, Eduardo offered a 15% reduction for my next trip.

So.. Apartment lovely, location excellent, and rather than complain more, I'll just leave it to readers to consider the circumstances. I'm still torn. Things happen, but I think more effort could have been made immediately to address A/C and perhaps actual compensation as opposed to a reduction on future rental (To be fair I never asked for rebate).

Great Location and Great apartment

The rooms were as shown in the web site.There were

no surprises.We liked the rooms. We utilized the kitchen

almost daily during our stay.And there was nothing lacking in it.

The location of the apartment was as we expected. It is close

to the subway and grocery stores.We could easily walk to

La Pedrera and restaurants.

And the owner Oh,my! Ed is a such a nice guy and there are not

enough words to express our appreciation for all the things

he did for us to make our stay memorable.Thanks Ed.

We enjoyed our stay

Next time we come to Barcelona,there is NO need for us to scour

the pages of Homeaway's web-site to select an apartment.

We go straight and make a reservation for Ed's apartment

more than excellent!!

we have spent 4 days in Barcelona with my family and i must say that the property is even better than shown in the pictures and explained in the description. Beautiful terrace for a morning coffee, nice comfortable beds and linen, beautiful kitchen and bathrooms,all the amenities that you can need, big screen TV... I can go on for a few pages in explaining what the property has, but there are two key points that it has. One is the location. It is located in the very city centre 50 meters from the two most popular shopping streets as well as super markets and restaurants. The beach is 10 minutes by taxi, but you can even go by foot and you would get there in 30 minutes. The other thing is the reception by the owner. He was always phone call away for what ever that we needed, even organised the transfer from and to the airport for us. Basically, we didn't have to worry about anything. We will be in Barcelona again in December and definitely staying there if it is available.

Well-appointed, spacious apartment in great location

This was our second stay at this lovely, spacious and bright 3 bedroom apartment. Perfect location for public transportation. Quiet apartment but close to great restaurants and shopping. Apartment is well-appointed for short or longer stays, with a hair dryer, towels and good equipment in the kitchen. Owner is always a pleasure to work with, excellent and timely communication. Highly recommended ... can't wait to return next year!
