La Poujoulie was featured and highly recommended in an article in London's Evening Standard by one of their travel writers who stayed there.
We have had many guests over the years which almost without exception have been very favourable. A representative sample are quoted below. These are all recorded in a book in the house and can be verified. In particular guests have commented on the comfortable and well equipped house, the views, peace and quiet, the swimming pool, games room, and the general area.
Brief extracts are summarised below. Full and detailed comments are available on request.
“The house was absolutely amazing. As I wrote in the comments book we have been renting farmhouses/barns for some years and have always said between them all we could probably make up the ideal place if we could have the pool from one, the garden from another, the location from somewhere else etc, but think we may have stopped looking as for all of us La Poujoulie has it all."
“We had a great time at Poujoulie and were lucky with the weather, which was very good indeed. You have a fantastic property which has just about everything one could think of.“
“We had a great time at La Poujoulie in June and hope to return again soon, it's a fantastic place (comments left in guest book)." “we enjoyed the holiday in La Poujoulié very much: wonderful house, a lot of things to do (esp. table tennis in the barn and Cycling tours), nice cities around (Albi & Toulouse); it was perfect; thank you very much!"
“I just wanted to let you know that we had a superb time at La Poujoulie in August. It was wonderfully equipped in a very thoughtful way for families. The teenagers had a great time. The house and its facilities were such a nice environment."
“My party and I just wanted to email and let you know that we had a fantastic time at La Poujoulie. it was the most perfect house in a perfect location. It had all the appliances that we could need and the pool and games barn were a godsend."

Lake near Carmaux (15 km) where you can hire sailing dinghy's and pedalos. Riding and tennis in Mirandol (9 km). River fishing permits readily available. River canoeing and swimming. Vineyards near Gaillac where you can taste before you buy.
Tarn is an area of fascinating medieval towns - such as Cordes-sur-Ciel, Najac and Albi (birthplace to the artist Toulouse Lautrec - visit his museum - and home to a magnificent 13th century cathedral). Open air markets throughout the summer months in many locations.
Food & Gastronomy:
You will find most day to day food (wonderful fresh bread and pastries, butcher's, fruit and vegetables and small supermarkets) at Mirandol (9 kms) and Laguepie (12 kms) where there are also ATMs. For a bigger one-stop supermarket shop you must go to Carmaux (19 kms.) or better still, Albi (45 kms.) The best restaurant food is undoubtedly the local fare and in the summer little restaurants open up all over the place offering delicious straightforward meals based around the specialties of the region which are duck and foie gras. Though you'll also find pizza places and even the burger and chips have found favour in the bigger towns! (Actually, chips in France are on most menus and quite delicious!). Needless to say, the wine is abundant, excellent and inexpensive - try the local rose (sold by the 3 litres!) and ignore convention by serving it in a long glass with lots of ice - very refreshing!
