Not a suitable relaxing holiday accommodation. Needs a good clean.

The house is dusty and full of old tatty furniture, many items were damaged (1 dining chair was unusable). I did not see the owner and the house is managed by a housekeeper.

All the kitchen cupboards smelled, there was a lack of cutlery. There was an ant infestation, we bought ant powder with little success. The fridge was old and noisy, there were no empty cupboards to put food into, but due to the ants we placed our food on top of the washing machine.

No one met us and the key was hidden. After 2 days the housekeeper turned up, I showed her that the shower room had no lights, other lights were not working and on the last day we found out that the courtyard lights were controlled by a unit we found in a plant pot! Also I showed her the flue from the boiler had a crack in it that could allow Carbon Monoxide to leak into the house, she got the owner on the phone and I explained it to him, nothing was done, this worried me.

The shower room (with no lights) had a door which opened onto the sink and didn't open fully, same for the bathroom which opened onto the toilet. One bedroom door was falling apart at the bottom and I had to go and buy spray oil to try and stop the doors from creaking. The gas ran out after a couple of days and I saw that the 2nd cylinder was not switched on, I switched it on and showed the housekeeper what I had done, she told me not to touch it because it was automatic (I knew this, but without turning it on we would have had no gas)

The garden was neglected with the plants growing over the paths and the fruit trees and grass were brown and dying due to lack of water. Halfway through our holiday we were woken at 08:00 by jack hammers and falling masonry, the house next door was being demolished, dust and debris fell into the back yard making it unusable. Up to that point my wife was enjoying just sitting reading (no sun loungers) while I went cycling but then we were forced to hire a car and go out every day to avoid the demolition work. I informed the owner by email and he was apologetic but did not offer to compensate me for my extra costs or inconvenience.

When we left, no-one came to see us and I left the keys where I had found them, emailed the owner to inform him we had left (no reply) This was not the relaxing holiday we had hoped for, apart from the problems with the house, the nearby road (N125) can be quite noisy, particularly at weekends.

This accommodation is not suitable for letting as it is.

Great place to relax

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Every morning we had breakfast outside on the terrace under the shadow of the big pine tree, orange and lemon trees gave shelter toward the traffic outside. Peace and quiet inside. Right across on the other side of the street is a nice restaurant named Sabores. Wondeful food.

Deep Peace

É algo surpreendente sentir tanta paz dentro do recinto da propriedade enquanto à volta se desenrola o movimento normal de uma vila algarvia.

It is somewhat surprising the peace felt within the property while on the outside the normal movement of a small village runs all the time.

Una casa encantadora!

Magnífico lugar. Estupendo el trato al recibirnos. Un pueblo en el que da gusto despertar escuchando nada más que pajaritos, se respira naturaleza. Muy limpio y bien equipado. Me he sentido como en mi casa. Graciasss!!!

bellissimas férias

Estivemos de férias na casa de Vila Nova de Cacela em Agosto, dois adultos e duas crianças pequenas.

A casa é extremamente confortável. Grande, espaçosa, a distribuição interna muito pratica, com uma decoração cuidada, com o traço original de quem a habitou e a introdução de elementos mais contemporâneos (as camas são novas e parte da iluminação também)

As três portas para o exterior tornam a casa extremamente agradável na relação com os pátios e o jardim.

O espaço exterior é muito generoso. O páteo andaluz é extremamente confortável pois tem uma série de assentos a volta do perímetro e a noite tem um fascino especial.

O jardim é fresco, ventilado mesmo nas horas mais quentes, rico em plantas com flores bonitas e perfumadas: hibiscos, yuccas, damas da noite (perfumadíssimas!), roseiras, uma linda e grande buganvillea, romanzeiras, laranjeiras..O grande pinheiro manso dá sombra a parte do jardim onde está a cadeira de baloiço e o poço, murado. È o espaço ideal para as refeições do almoço, pois tem sempre uma brisa constante. O pomar é uma riqueza de laranjas, limões, figos e faz uma ótima barreira para a estrada principal.

Neste casa ficamos dentro da vila de Cacela, mas é como se estivéssemos no campo. Não temos a perceção de estar num centro habitado e, ao mesmo tempo, quando saímos temos a praticidade de poder ir a praça a pé, o talho mesmo ao lado, os minimercados muito próximos, a farmácia está na mesma rua da casa, os ótimos frangos assados a dois passos, e até há uma loja muito original que repara bicicletas.

Consegue-se ir de bicicleta a Cacela a velha, são cerca de 4 km, é pertíssimo, e daí (temos que descer a escadaria do lado direito da igreja) apanha-se o barco que nos leva a praia da Fabrica.

Passamos aqui uma férias ótimas. Recomendamos !!
