Beautiful Bluff Park is across Ocean Boulevard and below that, one of the most serene beaches in all of Long Beach, all within steps of the building's front door. Steps to the Long Beach Museum of Art and the miles-long bike and walking paths along the shore.

Entertain your guests at the game table or bar with your own view of Long Beach's Queen Mary as you admire a mirror image model in the living room. The unit is fully equipped with all you need to entertain your guests.

Inside the unit, one finds panoramic ocean and city views from every room - even the two bathrooms. No common walls are shared with neighbors making the unit completely free of neighborly noise. Decorated with vintage furniture and accessories from the 1960s, even some of the supplied cookware is vintage and specifically chosen for the flat top glass cooktop within the fully-equipped Jenn-Aire kitchen.

The master bedroom has a king sized bed and there is a queen sized bed in the guest room. Original artwork is located throughout. The unit has central air-conditioning and heat with a generous utility bill allowance. The master bath has a Kohler shower system with eight water outlets and a lighted ceiling. There is an in-unit washer and dryer.

The unit is equipped with four new Samsung Smart HD TVs, loaded with all current apps. The whole house audio system is smart as well, operated from an app on your smart phone if you wish. Volume controls are available in every room. There is a lovely outdoor terrace facing southward which overlooks Belmont Pier and the Belmont Shore oceanfront.

Sightseeing? Besides Long Beach's abundent sites, you are just minutes away from Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and all other Southern California attractions. I'd argue it's one of the closet beachfront locations to such attractions.

For you mid-century modern afficianados, the dining room set is vintage Milo Baughman and the molded plastic living room furniture was puchased by the family in Italy in the early 1970s. There is vintage Italian pottery throughout complimented by original artwork from emerging Vietnamese and local artists, incluiding an amazing beach bar assembladge.

There is a local unit manager just a text away and the staff and residents of the building are as nice as the unit itself.

Long Beach is my hometown - in fact, I am the fourth generation of my family to call Long Beach home. Also, in fact, my grandparents met at Poly High. But, now, I reside in Palm Springs, California. We puchased this perfect place in 2006, intending to use it as a summer getaway from the desert heat. Alas, our lifestyle in the desert precludes us from returning to Long Beach as much as we expected. Unable to conjure up the image of selling the Galaxy, we decided to try a seasonal rental and return as much as life allows.

Why Richard D Hobbs chose Bluff Park

When I was about 14, the Galaxy Towers were being built. At that time, I was a frequent visitor to the beach below and one day told my mother that I planned to live at the Galaxy when I grew up. She smiled, surely feeling proud of my ambitions given our then circumstance. I later discovered an old 1920s photo of my great-grandmother standing next to a Ford Model T in front of the house that still exists next door. Its kismet. I believe in dreams.

What makes this condo unique

Unit 1620 of the Galaxy Towers is among the five most unique in all of Long Beach -- heck, I'll argue in all of Southern California at this price point. The absolute serenity of the space engulfs you as you enter the door. It's like living in a boat - all you see is the blue of the ocean everywhere you look. In over 10 years, I've never been bored by the view. Ships coming and going to the harbor, cruise ships leaving port with their happy passnegers, the THUMS islands busy with activity, hearing and seeing the fireworks of Disneyland every night, watching awesome sunsets, and during the winter, amazing storms makes one feel in touch with nature. It's pure magic. The Galaxy lifestyle is gracious and never intrusive. The building is well managed and remains free and intolerant of abberant behavior. This is not a party building. I love that part.
