Short Walk To Lake Glenville short drive to lots of beautiful places
About Susanne Moore
I moved here to the Glenville area in 1997. I do live in Glenville full time. I love photography and trust me, there is a lot to photograph here. Mountains and waterfalls, birds and flowers, breathtaking sunsets, and if your lucky maybe a bear. You can hike and explore the national parks, eat the great food from local restaurants, all of this is easily accessible from my cabin.
Why Susanne Moore chose Glenville
This property is so close to a lot of the surrounding cities and not hard to find, just off the highway but still a private setting. For a single women you can feel safe and comfortable staying here as I live close by but I'm not obtrusive and crime is basically non-existent. You can enjoy a quiet pleasant stay while still being able to access the Cashiers/Highlands area very easily and quickly to enjoy all of the activities the area has to offer.
What makes this Cabin unique
If your looking for a place to stay that feels safe, is quiet and relaxing, close to everything this area has to offer, short walks to enjoy the lake and see the beautiful sunsets over the lake then you found the perfect spot.

Great home for small family!
We enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Moss cabin! It was perfect and cozy for our small family and very convenient to Cashiers. It is a beautiful and well-appointed home - everything you may need is there!
Comfortable, cozy, convenient Cabin
Second time staying at Lazy Moss Cabin and I don’t generally rent a VRBO place more than once. Not because I don’t like the places I rent, I do, but I like to try different places when I go back to an area.
But, for my two dogs and myself, Lazy Moss is perfect. Even though it is 1 bedroom, 1 bath upstairs and a combination living room, dining room and kitchen downstairs, it’s not small or claustrophobic, it’s cozy, it’s comfortable with everything you need if you want to stay in and chill. Did I mention the great screened in porch? The cabin is centrally located and convenient to whatever you want to do. Walk across the street to Lake Glenville and paddle board or kayak. Head south to Cashiers or west to Highlands for shopping, dining out. North to Sylva to kayak the Tuckaseegee river. And any direction to go hike to waterfalls or up a mountain. Did all the above in 3 days. Susanne, the owner, is great to work with. She and her husband are right there if you need them, but you probably won’t as Lazy Moss Cabin is as close to perfect as you can get.
Hi Michael, thanks for the great review. I'm so happy that the cabin was a comfortable stay for you and that you had such a good time. you were busy. I hope you consider staying again in the future. Thanks again.
We had a wonderful stay at the very tidy Lazy Moss cabin with our three Papillon fur-babies. The cabin is thoughtfully and artistically furnished. The surrounding landscape enveloping us was reminiscent of a hobbit shire. The lake access and small sandy beach are a short walk across Highway 107. Fortunately, Suzanne cautioned us to pick up our dogs when crossing because cars zip around the corner at times and she was right.
We enjoyed paddle boarding, pontooning and swimming from the beach area. My husband was able to swim in the mornings without any boat traffic. It’s a short 8 minute drive to Cashiers and 25 minutes to Highlands. There is a lovely garden in Cashiers with trails for walking dogs. Highlands is a charming walkable town with many shops, restaurants (patio dining is dog friendly), and a small park.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the traffic is busy during usual peak hours, but we were usually hiking or playing at the lake during those hours so it wasn’t a concern for us. The screened in porch was a wonderful place to eat and listen to the trickling brook or watch a little TV - I caught my husband watching football a few times.
We also enjoyed walking up the steep hills in the neighborhood behind the cabin for an evening walk with the dogs.
Hi Bree, thanks for the great review and lots of information for future guest about the area and the cabin. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and you got a lot of time on the lake while the weather was perfect. I hope you visit again in the future.
Lake Glenville "Getaway"..
A cozy spot.. very convenient to Cashiers. Well appointed , and excellent for a couple to serve as a "jumping out spot" in visiting the Cashiers area
Nice weekend at lazy moss
Its a nice lil cabin right beside lake me & my wife had a great weekend. Also right down the road from a marina you can rent a boat and go see the 3 waterfalls on lake. Only down side is if u have a big lifted truck like i do its tight parking at cabin but they have parking below if to big.
Cute comfortable pet friendly
Very nicely updated clean cabin with all the comforts of home. Cute upstairs bedroom with views of the lake and a relaxing screen porch on the main level were you can hear water trickling from the seasonal stream.
Glenville's Signal Ridge Marina is less than a 2 minute drive from Lazy Moss cabin and Cashiers is a 7 minute drive.
