Grooms cottage is a lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

The cottage has everything you need for your stay. The owner is friendly and helpful. Situated in a peaceful area, Langton Herring village and local pub only a short walk away, very picturesque area. Lots of interesting places to visit, Monkey World, the Swannery-the young had recently hatched close to the walkways, Abbotsbury village has lovely tea rooms and interesting shops especially Dansel Gallery which specialises in contemporary woodwork. Lots of local walks to explore.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your nice comments and I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. I like to think I make it a home from home with everything to make your stay pleasurable and somewhere you would always like to return to. So sorry I could not say farewell to you (only through the door) I was just out of the shower and did not want to frighten you. Thank you for review and hope to see you again one day.

Lovely little cottage, clean and owner very helpful.

  • 3 of 5

Certainly peaceful and away from it all. The owner was very helpul and did all she could to make our stay comfortable. Little extras for our arrival were much appreciated. This was a Winter stay and it took a while to warm up, once there it was nice and cosy.

If there had been a photgraph of the bedroom in the literature we would probably not have picked this location. It was a little awkward getting down the side of the bed, you have to bend your back. For my wife with back issues this was not the best. A stand up shower would also been better. Many thanks.

Owner's Response: I am sorry that you found the cottage bedroom was a little difficult for your wife. There is a photograph of the bedroom on the photograph page (no. 3) of the bedroom showing the slope of the eaves. There is nothing I can do to change the height of the bedroom ceiling. Once you are in the very comfortable 5' bed this issue does not to worry to many of my previous guests. Likewise there is a shower on the bath, but the slope of the ceiling of the bathroom does not allow for a stand up shower. Thank you for your kind comments about the cottage.
