Family in town for wedding
It was a great setting. The new bathroom upstairs is wonderful! The upstairs bedrooms were warm as there is only a/c downstairs, but other than that, it was a great house to stay in close to our family and the wedding events of the weekend.
Would Stay Again
So, this property is a true country farmhouse. Inside is a little dated, but very clean, which is what counts. And with that HUGE front porch, we weren't inside much except to sleep. If you enjoy waking up to being surrounded by horses, this is the property for you. Every day we walked over to the pastures to pet them. The sunrise every morning on the front porch is something I'm going to miss. If you are planning on visiting wineries, this is a great location. It is close to McMinnville, Newburg, and other areas, all with fantastic wineries. If you are into antiquing, there are a ton of shops to sort through. If you plan on spending time in Portland, it is about an hour drive.
Now, about the house...it has 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, one of them being a Jack & Jill bathroom upstairs to the 2 bedrooms. It has been completely renovated, with a glass enclosed shower, toilet, and large dual vanity. Great shower with tons of hot water. The only things missing are hooks or a rod to hang your towels, and any place to put your shampoo/soap while you're in the shower. Maybe this is still in the planning stages as the bathroom was recently finished. FYI, they do not provide any soap or shampoo as some VRBO's do. We stayed with another couple, they took the downstairs bedroom, and we took one of the upstairs bedrooms that had french doors that led out to a little porch. Both couples said the beds were phenomenal. The small porch off the bedroom isn't a comfortable place to sit, but maybe in the future as it looks like they are continuing work on the property. Kitchen appliances are a little older, but clean. Again, important. The only surprise was the lack of attention to the front porch. It is huge, with many places to sit, eat, ( a gas grill is available) or enjoy a cocktail. It is a working farm, so things get dusty and dirty, but the many tables on the porch hadn't been dusted in a while, and the wicker seating needs either cleaning, or new cushions. I know a reviewer complained of cobwebs, ( we saw a couple), but they were where you'd expect to find them, and again, it's a working farm. There is a beverage cooler on the porch that owners seemed to have forgotten about. There was old beer in it, and it needs cleaning. The ceiling to the front porch is also undergoing renovation, but doesn't interfere with your stay. I'm sure these issues will be addressed. Would we stay here again? In a heartbeat.
Accommodations fitted our needs. It is a peaceful relaxing environment. Liked the outdoor arrangement but needs some sprucing up. I would return if I’m back in that part on the country
Beyond our expectations
The farmhouse had a magnificent wrap around veranda indoor was very spacious yet cozy. Great equestrian facility w Sara Ann offering private riding lessons and outdoor equestrian wine tasting rides In the heart of world famous wine country this home was also near trails for hikes picnics and scenic access
Great for families
We had a wonderful time staying here. The property and house is really nice. Location is perfect.
The deck they showed online was not the same when we arrived. Messy, dirty cobwebs, bird poop every where. You could barley sit out there. They should have clean up before we arrived. Ranch hands staying next to us was not a private place. We would not recommend this place at all.
