Great Nantucket visit
Forrest, the property manager, was great and Giuseppe was very helpful. Room was all that was advertised and very comfortable.
Breakfasts were good, including great conversations. We would highly recommend to everyone.
Bill and Cathy were a great pleasure to have as guests. They explored Nantucket with rare enthusiasm and intelligence—the streets of the historical town and the natural beauties. Very good company. Impeccably neat. Always welcome.
Great property, attention to detail and location!
Terrific property, ideal location, fantastic owner full of island info. Room was wonderful, ideal for relaxation, comfort, etc.
Charming with fabulous host
What a charming historical home with the nicest host Forrest ever!
Sharilee and her sister were a great pleasure to have as guests. They explored Nantucket with rare enthusiasm and intelligence—the streets of the historical town and the natural beauties. Very good company. Impeccably neat. Always welcome.
Super location and historic family home-turned-B&B
Forrest was a wonderful host, and very thoughtful in every way —providing a nice breakfast, friendly and intelligent conversation, and even alike of Nantucket rain slickers when it turned grey outside. The house is a real character in its own right, full of historic charm and just right for two people on a last minute 35th anniversary trip. The location is unbeatable, steps from The Bean, shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay here very much.
Beckly’s group were a pleasure to have as guests and are long-time visitors to Nantucket. Good company, charming and well read. Impeccably neat. Always welcome.
This wonderful man and his extraordinary home offer "old" Nantucket in a nutshell; don't miss it!
We visited your VRBO during Tropical Storm Jose and the need for shelter from the storm. Any accommodations on Nantucket Island begin at $400/night. We were wet and had been cancelled from leaving the Island when we found "Forrest" and his rental in a cell phone conversation given on your internet site.
The parking on the one-way India Street isn't easy, but my wife and I along with my daughter (whose 30th Birthday had brought us out to Nantucket) and her (now fiancé) boyfriend decided not to "overwhelm" Forrest all of us wet and #4 of us. My daughter Sasha and I would meet him. Sasha and Randall would use the place the first night and my Wife and I (who had accommodations for another night) would take the rental the next since we had still to wait out the storm and get ourselves and vehicle off the Island with 160 others.
We met Forrest who brought us into this very magical world with very comfortable beds, bedding, gorgeous old library at your fingertips, old spectacular original oil paintings and wonderful dark panel OR the downstairs "back" unit; opens out on a quiet back yard, king sized bed with beautiful bedding and nice bathroom with a small extra room with a single for extra person and/or/ luggage all with access to library space, beautiful and tasteful dining room with museum-grade paintings, antique furnishings, etc..... it was a truly unique place and its owner, Forrest, was an inspiration... a wealth of years, a professor, and knowledgeable in so many ways. Our experience, although short, was unforgettable...and the most affordable for Nantucket. I am also in leg braces. This India Street property and its the proximity to the heart of town made this easy and doable. Although his upstairs unit was so spectacular, the 1st floor "back" unit was just what we needed. It was beautiful, clean, done with new "old" fixtures. It was bright and easily accessed. It made our experience comfortable and accessible.
Hi, Peter, thanks for your kind remarks and observations on the charms of 29 India House. It takes a keen and knowledgeable eye to see the layers of the past and to appreciate the modern comforts of staying with us. Your many years on Nantucket, even after a long period away, gave you a special talent to enjoy the island. I hope you and your talented family return for a visit. Forrest
