PRIVATE STRUCTURE. Casa de Campo is an attractive property on the border between Umbria and Lazio. The property is completely enclosed and is set in unpolluted natural surroundings not far from Orvieto. The farmhouse, dating to 1800, has been carefully renovated using the typical materials of the area such as tufa, open face stone, wooden beams and terracotta floors. It is the ideal place for those simply wishing to relax in the beautiful garden amongst the olive trees and vines, lavender and rosemary bushes and also for those wishing to vist art centres such as Todi, Bagnoregio, Viterbo and the Lake Bolsena. The area is always well served by the A1 motorway with Florence and Rome in easy reach. Besides the main house there is also a charming annex, used in the past as lodging for pilgrims travelling to Rome from the nearby convent of Bonavventura.
The main house consists of two floors. The main entrance leads directly into the living room with fireplace. On the left of the living room is the kitchen/dining room with a fully equipped fireplace and with direct access to the outside portico. Also on the left, a corridor leads to a double room and bathroom with tub. From the corridor a stone staircase leads up to the first floor with 2 double rooms and bathroom with shower. The washing machine is kept in the cupboard under the stairs. The annex, situated about 40 metres from the main house, consists of a single floor. It is composed of a living/dining room with fireplace, table, chairs and kitchenette, a double room and a bathroom with shower.
The property stands on 3,5 hectares of land. Guests can relax in the garden, of about 1 hectare, which consists partly of a lawn and is planted with olive trees, vines, fruit trees and ornamental shrubs such as lavender and rosemary. Guests have the use of a large portico with table and chairs, the ideal spot for alfresco dining.
The pool is open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October. Situated about 20 m from the house and annex, it is rectangular in shape and measures 10 x 5 m with a depth varying from 0,90 to 1,50 m. It has a tufa border, Roman steps to enter the water and a characteristic waterfall. The solarium area is equipped with sun loungers, deckchairs, umbrellas and cold-water shower. Near the pool is a pergola with table and benches.
