PRIVATE STRUCTURE. Piandisette is a typical stone farmhouse dating back to the early 20th century which the current owners have revisited and modernized, while respecting tradition and the original structure. The rooms, characterized by terracotta floors, wooden ceiling beams and pastel-coloured walls, are spacious and bright, decorated in the traditional way but with original features such as the unique Vietri ceramics in the bathrooms and in the kitchen. The windows of the first floor and the pool look over the enchanting landscape of the southern Sienese countryside of the Val di Chiana, dominated in this point by Mount Cetona, the 'mountain' as it is called here, which gives its name to the famous little medieval town, just five minutes from the property. The house is immersed in the peace and tranquillity of a large, lush garden and is the perfect buen ritiro for those looking for a holiday dedicated to well-being and unspoiled nature, characterized by dense woodland and rich wildlife. The prestigious spas in San Casciano dei Bagni, Chianciano Terme and Bagno Vignoni are just a few kilometres away, as is the Val d'Orcia with its picture-postcard landscapes framing the evocative historic borghi of San Quirico d'Orcia, Montalcino and Pienza. And finally, thanks to the excellent road network, with a day’s outing you can visit the major art cities of Tuscany (Siena and Florence) and Umbria (Perugia, Orvieto and Todi).
The house has two floors. The entrance on the ground floor leads into a spacious living room with sitting and dining area and, from here, to the TV room (with direct access to the pergola) and kitchen (with direct access to the portico). On this floor is also a double bedroom and a twin bedroom (with a single bed in the loft), both communicating with a bathroom with tub and, finally, a toilet. An elegant travertine staircase leads up to the first floor, consisting of a double bedroom (with divisible bed) with ensuite bathroom with shower, and two twin bedrooms (with joinable beds) sharing a bathroom with tub (communicating with both rooms ).
A lush, varied vegetation fills the enclosed, 4-hectare park, that surrounds the house. Fir trees, cypresses, pines, fragrant lime trees, oaks and fruit trees dot each side of the garden, creating natural shade. Along the front perimeter of the property, which borders with the inner dirt road, is a tall hedge lined with rose bushes to guarantee privacy, while the entrance is embellished with oleanders and wisteria climbing the columns of the portico, set up as a lounge area, which runs along one side of the house. Finally, the pergola, completely covered with Virginia creeper, on one side of the house and directly accessible from the TV room, has been set up for alfresco meals in an atmosphere of total serenity.
An avenue lined with neat rows of cypress trees leads to the pool area, situated on the private side of the garden and bordered by low hedges and lavender bushes The pool, about 60 m from the house, is south facing and looks out over Mount Cetona and the green expanse of hills. The pool measures 12 x 6 m, with a constant depth of 1.60 m and has Roman steps for access to the water. Purification is with chlorine. The pool has both internal and external lighting and a cold-water shower. The solarium area is paved in terracotta along one side and the rest is covered by lawn; it is provided with sunbeds and two gazebos with tables and chairs. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October.
