A "Home Away From Home"

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week in November 2006 at this cottage on the lake. We were greeted by the lovely scent of a Maine Blueberry candle burning on the stove, the freshness of clean linens and a loaf of home baked bread.

The cottage is well equipped with the essentials for cooking and baking, not to mention nice extras such as spices etc. The owners are very gracious and were able to offer us tips on where to visit and how to get there. The woodstove in the kitchen made for nice cozy nights and the owners supplied more than enough firewood. We will be returning to Maine this autumn and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

Absolutely Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Charles and Myra are lovely gracious hosts and welcomed us like family. The cottage is even nicer in person. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, pots, seasonings ect, there is a washer, dryer microwave and dishwasher and the property is lovely. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a pretty strong wireless signal and cell phone reception. The house comes with a aluminum fishing boat with motor which is nearly impossible to find with a home away rental. The fishing was wonderful and the view during sunrise and sunset from the boat was stunning. The cottage has a warm feel, is airy and welcoming. The upper porch is lovely for sipping tea and watching the sunset. We were so happy there that we immoderately checked their calendar when we got home to see if we could squeeze in another visit into our summer schedule when the house is open. Thanks so much for a wonderful trip!!
