We had a great time. It’s a decent drive to Old Rag, we recommend stopping at the Mennonite deli on the way. Was a little odd to have pictures of the family around. The house was perfect for a weekend getaway
Great for larger groups of all ages
It was a challenge to find a place in the area that could comfortably fit our whole group, but this one did a great job! The 4:00 check-in time was a logistical problem for us, but the hosts went to great lengths to allow us to check in early—that was a huge help! They also worked with us to accommodate extra people. The property was lovely and suited all three generations in our group very well.
Responsive, flexible owner. Great property. Sweet cat.
The retreat is such a nice place to stay. Very clean, lots of room to hang out. Beautiful, huge kitchen with professional stove. We loved our stay. Check in is so easy.
Nice comfy family home environment
We enjoyed the décor and feel of this family home. The house was in a nice country environment, even though there was another house nearby, it feels private. We enjoyed the fire pit on a cool/cold autumn evening, and although we had a lot of rain, we still braved the rain and used the hot tub. We could not enjoy the outdoor environment and furniture due to the rain.
Reasonably close to wineries and a trip to Charlottesville was not too far. We had two couples, but this home would work well for a family group with kids/teenagers. For a larger group, I do suggest additional seating in the family area downstairs for movie or sports watching.
Kitchen has most everything you need. We cooked a dinner and breakfast and I don't remember not finding anything we needed. Loved the large granite countertops.
Great home in a great setting!!
We used it for a quick family get-together and a launch pad to Graves Mountain Apple Harvest Festival. There was room to spare for our two households. The kids loved the playset and fire ring for smores. The adults enjoyed steaks on the grill and the hot tub in the cool of the evening. Thanks for making a great weekend possible!
